I remember buying one of these cause battery life was abysmal.

I remember switching to dripping because I like tea and would drink all of my rebuilding supplies.

I remember gutting dead 510 batts to make a usb passthrough.

I remember making flashlight mods using batteries that I would slap someone for using today.

Is that an x-ray of a 510 cartridge?
Ego T Tank Cartridges. They were horrible in my opinion. Hooked onto a atty that poked through the hole to drain the liquid to the atty.
That is exactly what they looked like. I probably have one somewhere in the house but, to lazy to search for it.

Okay, but is that an actual x-ray?

Inquiring minds want to know.

- carto punch evolution

Today, I truly believe that the only person that can't quit 'bakky with current available equipment/jooses is one that doesn't want to quit!!!

Didn't realize till now I haven't seen a 'how do I clean and reuse my carto' thread for quite some time. Way back when I tried it all. What an exercise in futility!

Happy Vaping Day!!...:toast:

Have some fun with your local B&M, walk in with a AAA-Puck style mod, and a 306 atty or kanger bottom coil carto (with the filler removed to use as a dripper) and see if anyone recognizes the equipment.... ...MacGyver had nothing on us back in the day.

Puck's website is still up and he'd got directions for making more advanced mods now. It surprises me that no one mentions him anymore.

I still have the 5-bay version and use it a couple of times a year to charge up all the 510 batteries that I may just use again, maybe.

That's not an x-ray. It's the little tank cartridge for a 510-t. I used mine a few times and then just started dripping on the atty instead. Just like I had done with my regular 510 and 306 atties.

I'd love to hear stories from the veterans about how they found out about vaping way back when vaping was brand new and practically unheard of. How did you all even find out about it? And what were the juices like back then? Has there been an evolution in juice as well?

Wow, great thread. Haven't read the whole thing -- just found it, so no time. But I remember most of what people have been talking about, if it happened after I started vaping. Yeah, pretty funny remembering some of that stuff. I started on a 510, with aquarium filter media for filler in the carts. Since I have an aquarium, that was easy. I remember one of the best threads from back in the day:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/joye-510/65055-battery-voltages-surprise.html

Man, Scottbee did yoeman work on that one. And back then, a lot of that stuff was just mysterious "black box" voodoo to many people.

I switched to the eGo when the 900mAH came out, and to dripping soon after that. For a while, I was absolutely PO'd at Joye510 atties, and vowed to stop using them, only to return after not finding anything else I liked. These days, I still have some 510 stuff around -- hey, keeping other spare stuff in case all of your 5 tanks and RDA stop working at once seems like a good plan. I now use the Vivi Mini-Nova, and I think I'm going to acquire a Kayfun. And mech mods for me, but nothing high-end. I had 2 Rivas burn up when I tried them on Cisco 1.8 atties, and despite the advances, I still don't want any circuitry between my battery and the coil.

Mostly, I rememeber being very active on ECF back then. These days, not so much. I started the CoVapE group, but it's pretty dead -- I blame Facebook. Well, things change. But I still drop by here and see what happening. But I spent a lot of time reading here before I joined up, and it was most helpful.

I heard about vaping from somebody on another forum, who had quit smoking.

Here is a blast from the past. Man we have come a long way :)

E-Cig Cartridge Mod

This lets me give more respect to the more veteran vapors! When I started cartomizers and carto tanks were the big thing. I doubt seriously I would have even tried to bother doing it this way.

Now Im all about Kayfuns and building my own coils. I started out with a cig alike and use to carry 4 or 5 prefilled cartos with me all the time. I have come a long way also! LOL

I vaped for a while back around 2010. Started w some 510 and 901 batteries. Picked up a BLU started kit and some extra pre filled carts. Ordered my first 6 volt mod. It was called The Copper R2V2. It looked like a small pipe bomb, but w a 510 atty w a few drops of liquid dripped into it the vape was good, not great but good. Eventually I got sick of all the hassle and the mess so I went back to analogs. Picked up an ego in May this year and quit smoking a week later. Now I have a collection of mods and tons of juice and its not just a harm reduction for me its also a hobby and a new community that I love being a part of.

Wow, yes! I remember. I also remember all PG juices and the most popular 80pg/20vg. People who didn't like PG were having a hard time finding an alternative. Now that has reversed. High Vg everywhere.
Crazy cart mods just to get 2 half decent hits, which still sucked.
Auto batteries that didn't activate at all, or only by wind.

So much effort went into getting every single hit, exhausting!
