so far so good here too. I had leaks early on, but Imeo mentione to not have the wires overlap where they get pinched between the delrin and the metal. Ever since I did that I had no leaking issues. I am also running the mixed up o-rings from COV that were originally sent. They were a VERY tight fit, but so far no leaks from there.

Well my silver NR wire came yesterday; at last.
Tried using the microcrimps aswell, my gosh; they are not easy to use. When I did manage to line the wires up, keep them there and crimp, they would keep coming free with little pressure. I will revise and research my crimping technique today, before I try again.

Just remember to use both sets of notches on your crimp tool. The inside to crimp and kink the crimp and the outside notches to squish it together tight after they are joined. You will then have a very strong connection . The silver wire will break before you manage to pull it from the crimp tube if it is done right.

Could someone chime in about a very important deciding factor for me buying an iatty? I am all about a great consistent throat hit, period. Will/can I achieve this with the iatty? I am pretty darn satisfyed with using cartos atm for that in a tank... Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!

I think it is a your results may vary. My iAtty gives me a much denser and fllavorful vape but I have to change the wick every other day. With my AVS I just refill it and I am going on day 5 with the same carto. I havn't done complete testing with the Nextel XC wick yet. Most that use it like it a lot and mesh seems to be really good once you get it going but there seems to be a bit of a learning curve.

I would say if you like to tinker and play and try to improve/adjust your vape then the iAtty is for you if you just want something to fill and replace cartos/attys once in a while then AVS/AFS/UFS is probably your cup o tea.

This is all JMHO and my results though.

Thanks Fright, I actually am sick and tired of the whole rigamarole of dinkin around, I make the switch to cartos and a tank from an atti and dripping for that very reason... You actually brought to light something I was ignoring... Convenience... Really, thank you for this!

I had a similar issue with having to clean/change wicks frequently until I discovered my problem

I vape a sweet 50/50 blend and found that it would clog my iAtty frequently leaving a thick black goo on my coil and wick. I started experimenting and found that my blend would actually leave deposits when the heat was too low. I tried giving it a blast at 6v and it would clear up for another day. That confirmed the issue was not enough heat. I upped my wattage by lowering the resistance and now whenever I look at the coil and wick it is clean as a whistle.

For me and the juice I am running, I am at 1.2 ohms @ 3.7 V. Just a thought, YMMV.

Yeah, I thought the same at first. Turns out the highter temps prevent the buildup due to the coils getting hot enough to go completely dry on the cool down after you release the button and stop pulling on the Atty. The left over juice is what was crystalizing and caking up because the heat was lower. Remember though, if you go too high on the heat you'll need to tap the button in 1 second intervals ti keep from burning the juice.

i have an iatty.
I like it tremendously... it reminds me of an atty that's an 801 w/510 connection... tons of vapor, airy vape.
I use it on my VV pv, and am awaiting a ggts to see if i can get a tighter draw. I should have it this week (ggts). !

thanks for the tip on kicking up the voltage to keep the coil/wick cleaner.

I think I am goin to jump on the iAtty train if and when they come back in stock.

I used to use the CE2's all the time with the main tank that came out a while back but I got tired of the PITA when it came to inserting and removing the CE2's, then having to fiddle with the top steel cap to make sure it perfectly sits against the top, etc.

Now with a lot more CE2 refined tanks I am goin back to CE2's and was interested in getting into DIY attys and it seems the CE2 goes hand and hand with the iAtty so hoping this is the right choice?

I haven't seen a bad review yet but there ain't many English version reviews. I thought about the Bulli but seen too many inconsistencies with their performance.

Ed the iatty is a rebuildable... you make the wick/coil... the other feeder system/s have the insertable atty/carto...ufs , afs.... i don't know anything about those yet though.

I've noticed the same thing lord, I stopped using twisted resistance wires, and now only use a single 36g wire, it takes 8 days for me to get carbon build up.

Rick are you saying that you crimp now instead of doing the Chubby Checker (twisting)? I ordered 3' of silver wire from COV and 15' from an Ebay vendor. Seems like the latter is never going to get here. I have the means to both crimp and solder. Going to try out each technique to see which I like.

I'm thinking that the gunked up coil I get after a days vaping is due to using a 2.0-2-4 or so oHm at 3.7v and it's not getting hot enough to keep the coil clean. That and I use sweet juices from TV.

That is definitely the issue you're having Repent When I ran 2.0 ohms @ 3.7V in the iAtty, it would gunk up within a day. Running 1.2 ohm @ 3.7 volts, I have been running 7 days now, still vaping great. No noticeable gunk buildup running a sweet rice krispity treat juice from KBV custom mixed to 50/50 PG/VG @ 24mg. The juice in the tank is not getting darker yet which is usually my clue that it's time to clean the coil again.

In case anyone is interested. I finally got that 1.8 ohm 32ga kanthal a-1 coil I was talking about to "pop". It was running for a good 6 weeks or so so I wanted to see just how much more it could take. I emptied everything and let it dry burn for close to 5 minutes (dunking in water every now and again to keep the delrin from getting overheated and cracking or melting). I thought the battery was going to give before the coil did It's really good stuff!
