I don't think they will ban but most likely tax it. But I've been wrong before.

I dont expect them to fully attempt to ban it but I do expect some major chances from what we all enjoy today. In a nutshell, first they have to issue a deeming regulation, which they have said they will do this summer, and then tell us what any new rules may be, have a comment period and then implement any changes they decide to follow through with. If it happens it will take time and wont all happen overnight which is a good thing to give people some time to prepare if they need to.

I'm hoping they couldn't ban the sale of the e-cigs and mods THEMSELVES,,,,,,,,or the cartos, clearos, etc,,,,,,

if they ban the nic juice, I'd just go down to zero nic. I'm at 11 now,,,,,,,,I do six often. Doesn't bother me.

If they banned the actual hardware,,,,,,,I'd be on the front lawn of congress with anyone else who'd join me.

There is no way they could ban the hardware. They'd have to ban batteries, wire, solder, circuit boards, switches...

I'm not so sure I personally have a problem with them taxing it. I know it's not ideal, but in a way it's better than an outright ban IMHO. It depends on how much more expensive it would be. I don't really vape because it's cheaper. I vape to stay away from cigarettes.

but couldn't they ban the making of the actual product?? I'm not up to buying batts, wire, solder, etc and making my own.

I'm not really sure how they could enforce that. A mod is much like a torch. An ego type device is just a battery with a switch on it. (Much like a torch - only it has a 510 connection rather than a bulb)

As soon as they banned one style of device (and legislated against what constitutes an electronic cigarette, defining the function of the device...) manufacturers would move the goalposts and re-design the device to exploit any loopholes.

It's just not enforceable. They'd have to ban pretty much any rechargeable electronic device with a switch....

that's kinda what I'm thinking,,,,,,,,,I suppose they could ban cig look a likes,,,,,which is what I use,,,,but I'd just go to an ego or something if they did,,,,,,,,BUT like you said, once they ban one,,,,,

This was a "what-if" thread...as far as the U.S. goes they already tried to ban the devices and the courts shot them down. I'm a newbie so that was before my day but people talk about it....there were seizures of devices coming through customs.

I'm afraid of them banning nic juices (or even limiting them to pre-filled cartos, which I think the tobacco companies are lobbying for so they can get the "printer effect") -- did you know that printers are sold at a huge loss because the printer companies make a fortune on ink cartridges?

yes, I know,,,,,,my son works at Staples and it's ridiculous how much they make off ink cartridges and cables for computers,,,,,,the companion stuff makes them more.. But then again, 30 years ago, when I worked at a movie theartre, we made more off pop corn and soda than the actual movie.

The only concerning part to me is the flavors..I can totally see the FDA banning flavored ejuice for the childrens' sake of course. I can see the vaping world reduced to unflavored pg/vg juice with varying nicotine levels in super childproof containers. BTW I'm talking about pre-made juices for sale..there is no way the govt could stop people from adding their own flavored concentrates at home.

I rely on my local shop for supplies. "Stocking up" just isnt for me. I would be forced to quit vaping. Would i go back to smoking analogs? I thought about this one and originally i said probably but then i thought of why a ban would occur.

The only way a ban would occur is when the tobacco companies begin to lose too much money. We all know these "Better for you" government agencies and associations are funded by the same money that kills hundreds of thousands each year through agricultural, tobacco, and pharma means. But (in being honest) it has never affected me directly. Im sure someone can point out a bunch of ways i have been affected however none that have had any real relevance to myself.

If vaping was banned all it would do is make my resolve to not support big tobacco that much stronger.

I finished the last 30 ml bottle of Dekang (Flue Cured and DK-TAB), from the big batch bought in June of 2009, last month.

The juice wasn't stored in the freeser/fridge but stored in the basement, colder area and no light exposure.
As far as I concern the juice taste/potency is the same as it was 3 years ago.

So, based on my anecdotal expirience and if FDA ban the juice I will buy 6 bottles of 100 mg 120 ml juice and store it in the freeser that will last me 5 years diluted to 12.5 mg/ml.

I am pretty positive that the matter will be resolved by that time.
