I hear ya Uncle P, looooooved smoking and especially loved cigars. Still have two humidors that are half full, one with authentic Cubans..shhhhhhhh. ;-).

For the record I haven't lit one of those in almost a year either!

Heh... I too still have my humidor, no Cuban though. Plenty of Drew Estate and 5V's for when company swings by! I haven't lit any tobacco since Feb, 2013.
I have been experimenting with NET extractions with the Pipe tobacco's though... I couldn't stand the thought of the Black Cavendish going to waste!

Never! Even if I get this down to zero nic I will always vape, you have to pry it from my cold dead hands :p

Seriously, I have never had so much fun! Why would you not want to taste a nice custard? A coffee vape, then go to a nice tobacco like the virus. There are a ton of flavors out there, each delivering something you like. It's not the point of the nic or the fixation any more it's also a large part about the flavor we get. I think that is a huge part that is overlooked. Never got it to it with the cigalikes. I mean you got your nic, the fixation was identical for the most part, the nasty taste. I never got up and joined a forum to find out everything I could about the cigalikes. But now, I'm hooked and it's like a dreamy world for me, to be able to have so much flavor, so many devices to cater to my tastes. From building coils to getting tanks, up the wattage on this flavor I like it warmer, down the wattage on that. Put this one in a tank, take that one and drip it... it's endless goodness.

Besides if we give up vaping, what would we talk about with each other? :D

Xobeloot makes some great NET juices from cigars, PM him and try them out if you haven't already. Makes a blondie from Acid Blonde that is spot on and a great maduro as well.

Oh yeah... I had the opportunity to beta-test his NEMP... Fantastic stuff! I still have a couple ml of that first bottle. I need to place an order for more and give the Blonde a shot!

Interesting...well since it's Christmas I have been at the parents house so can't sit and vape like I do at home and have hardly vaped at all (1 battery in my vamo has lasted 5 days and showing 3,8V, rather than the 1 and a bit batteries a day) and TBH have not had any problems or cravings. The thing is quitting would mean that I had nothing to shove in my mouth and eventually I would be in a situation where I wanted to inhale...well cigs are much easier to get than vape gear so not vaping risks smoking and I don't think I could stay clear of both indefinitely.

For me this is a tough question. Made tougher after talking to a doctor in the waiting room of another doctors office. The conversation I had with him gave me a lot to think about, and search for on-line, unfortunately, I have found (not to my surprise) little info on what he was talking about. Basically our talk started over my MOD, which lead to the "I quit smoking with this", followed by his question on how I now feel after quitting. It's what he said next that shocked me.
According to him (only as I have found nothing backing him online..... not surprised as big pharma could have a hand in it), nicotine may actually suppress some illnesses. He want on to say that some illnesses being suppressed by nicotine will/may flair up after one quits nicotine for so long, and after they present, nicotine will no longer work in suppressing them.
I post her to see what others think of this as I can find nothing backing or disputing him online.
I did however see the pattern of some illnesses increasing in the world, and do wonder if a recent reduction in smoking could have lead to this as he suggests.
So, for the original question.... would I quit vaping. Yes, I would like to one day quit this as well. However, if his claim is true.... vaping may be helping in more than quitting smoking, and I (after smoking/vaping for this long) could run risks in quitting.

I'd have to say no. I enjoyed smoking cigarettes when I did, just didn't enjoy the health issues that came along with it. I enjoy vaping, the hobby (building) and the community of it. Not that vaping is what i would call healthy (in-taking anything other than oxygen into your lungs isn't healthy) yet it is leaps and bounds less detrimental to our health than tobacco products are. Interesting question :)

Seems like most who replied would continue to vape even if they can quit without any side effects.

I on the other hand would quit in a heart beat if given a choice. Vaping is just harm reduction for my family ( I'm not afraid of dying, just the process ). If I can totally eliminate it, and save some money in the process, why not? Not saying vaping or nicotine is harmful, but the fact remains that the long term effects (20,30,.....years) are still unknown.
