Local IHOP put up a sign due to an incident with a customer vaping indoors and customer complaints.

I don't vape in places I wouldn't usually smoke so it doesn't bother me.

Who cares if an incident prompted this action?

If nobody vaped in IHOP then nobody would have complained.
And if nobody would have complained then nobody would have put up a sign.

But if nobody would have vaped in IHOP then nobody would have vaped in IHOP.
So what does it matter, if you don't think people should vape in IHOP, that there is now a sign that says so.

You got what you wanted, they got what they wanted, and the only thing that has changed is nothing.

Let me take a stab at dis story...

Local went out shooting darts and/or pool at his/her local pub.
Got 'loaded'.
Went to IHOP for a midnight 'sobering' breakfast.
Let his/her alligator 'vaping' mouth overload his/her hummingbird azz.

Just an 'educated' SWAG...

And then probably started making a big scene about how it wasn't illegal and screw everyone.
I wouldn't be surprised if the middle finger even became involved at some point.

While this sounds extremely plausible, lets be honest...
When you go to the IHOP after drinking (@2-5AM), everyone in there is drunk, and I doubt any of them would complain about vaping, they just get drunk-hungry and want their food, no matter what.

I could care less. If your oral fixation on your PV is so bad that you can't eat without it, you have problems.

I'll level with the OP a little...while vaping is technically "legal" indoors in unregulated areas, common courtesy would be not to do it in a restaurant...If i'm in a place that you can't smoke inside of (like when I'm at work) i usually just step outside, have a "vape break" and go back.

2) on the other hand, let's be honest...it is IHOP...not exactly the classiest establishment....

3) I'm not quite sure what the argument is in this post...or where it stemmed from...OP is just telling us that the IHOP near him doesn't let you vape inside anymore...what could there possibly be to argue about?

<<<<< Vapes in IHOP. Ours doesn't mind, neither do most restaurants in our area.

The way I see it, all this giving in to outsiders misconception to make them feel comfortable only fuels the fire. If we Vape in places like this, when questions arise its a chance to educate people and further our cause. By standing outside near the smokers area, you're just feeding the misconception that vaping must be akin to smoking.
It's threads like this that really make me wonder sometimes just who's side some of you vapers are on. We live in the golden age of vaping right now, it's not going to get any better. We should be seizing every possible chance to educate, inform and normalize. Instead, many of you choose to shy away and feed from the spoon that society hands to you. It's really a shameful stance from my point of view.

There business their rules. Being obnoxious about it won't change it.
I agree 100% and I'm not sure why you are directing this at me.
Regardless, I'm still tired of the argument that doing what they want will keep them from MAKING us do what they want.

And when I say tired of it, I mean like way fed up to my neck tired of it.

This makes sense but it also doesn't  I'm so confused about the whole vaping in places issue. Part of the point is that they have few secondhand effects other than maybe a strongish smell with some liquids and are not icky dirty as evil as analogs so why shouldn't you be able to and then the other part is not wanting vaping to be treated like analogs and I'm sure there are other parts to but...go back to beginning of thought.
