I guess I should of waited until your final analysis. Your early post said "The vape definitely seems cooler and the atty doesn't get hot". Oh well, too late now. Mine will probably find a new home also. One of the things I love about my 804s is that I can get after them pretty hard and the base just gets warm, never hot.

Yep, my initial assessment was with the stock coil, where I pulled out the wicks and pulled through cotton. But I recoiled to get a bit more heat, did a 2 wrap of 0.5 ribbon. It definitely got hot. There's probably a difference, but I'm chasing flavor and this one wasn't the OMG difference I was hoping for. Most new things I buy fail this test also. :)

I tend to keep my immortalizer at around .8-1.1 ohms.

I built my first coil in the clone last night and the draw is definitely tighter on the clone than on the original. I enlarged the holes on the clone to be slightly larger than the ones on the original and the draw was still pretty tight. I have a feeling that the space between the outer and inner walls is smaller than on the original which would explain why enlarging the holes wouldn't make much of a difference. I wish I had some calipers so I could take some measurements.

Here's a tip to get a better draw out of the immo and immoclone, Make sure that you can see the coil when you pull off the drip tip and that the only thing that is obstructing the holes in the ceramic and all the way to the drip tip is the coil. That means no stray wick and stuff.

My negative clamp screw already stripped. I had to tear it apart to get it out of the post. Luckily I had a spare allen screw from another clone and it threaded right in.

5 wrap .8 flat with double 3 mm .9 ohm is better but still warm. Today the silica comes out and cotton goes in.

Since misterD managed to get the draw too loose on his I'm not worried about the tight draw, but I am still worried about heat build up. Have you tried it without the sleeve? I'm thinking a little more airflow might help to keep it cooler. I usually wrap for around 1.4 ohms, so I'm still hoping it'll work out for me.

Be sure and keep us posted on how the cotton works out. :vapor:

I don't like the looks of it w/o the sleeve so I haven't tried it.
1 inch length of cotton. I took the ends of each side a stuffed them under the coil about half way as to leave the air holes open. So far I'm getting enough vapor and a little cooler but more importantly TH!
Will be running this all evening I think.

Looks like a good set for the money.

Sorry to hear of the overshoot. Have you got it sorted yet?

I bought 2 of them so I popped the unmodified sleeve onto the modified one and its much better. now I'm curious as how the unmodified one is gonna be with the modded sleeve with extra 2 airholes. might be just the ticket!

I'm using one of those NR-R-NR pre-made wires that stormycellar carries on my built. 1.2oHms rolled on a 18G syringe needle with organic cotton. its a good vape but I think I like better my dual coil scar smoktek with all its enlarged holes. :) too bad my built came out too low (0.5ohms) that I only dare using it on a 26650 batt...

Do you like your dual coil scar smoktek better because it's warmer or cooler?

If you have any 32 or 34 ga kanthal, you might want to try a single coil dual wire micro or near micro setup. That's what I use on my 804s with 32 ga kanthal and I really like it.

It could be just the way I set up the coils or how I drilled the holes. seems perfect, not too warm nor cooler. at 0.5oHms it should be very hot and the flavor is there too. I modded the other scar I have and built a coil using 32G kanthal but it came out to be 1.5oHms but I'm not too impressed with the outcome as with my first one.

Well, mine just came in from FT. The pictures of it on FT doesn't show how nice it really looks. It actually looks great, no rough edges. Looks solid and can be easily mistaken as a device that would cost 4 times more. Coming from using the Trident clone, the draw is pretty tight. I thought I loosen a tooth. I built a 1 ohm nano micro coil with 28g round kanthal with cotton roll. Flavor is definitely there, but the vapor is the same of that of a carto. I think what I like the most about it is the drip shield. I dripped 20 drops with no problems and don't have to worry about leaking.

I did have a missing o-ring like everyone else. Was able to use the o-ring of an unused mini did clone. Perfect fit. Good RDA clone, especially for $17. Don't know how I would be feeling about it if I paid $95 for the real RDA.

I am sorry and i do not want to piss anyone off and this is not meant to come across as mean but,i feel fine knowing i paid $95 for mine because it vapes like a fog machine and the flavor and TH are exceptionally great.I know knock off's are out there and it makes more affordable vaping.I am on the other side of the fence on knock off's.

I don't think anyone should ever judge people for buying anything, clone or the real thing. I didn't mean to make my last sentence as a knock on anyone that bought the real immortalizer. I just meant to say that if I would have bought it for $95, I don't think it would have impressed me as much as buying it for $17. My vaping budget has been depleted lately due to getting the kids set for the school year, not to mention other things I enjoy to do other than vaping. When I first got into vaping, I bought my share of high ends and have no regrets in buying them for their asking prices. As of right now, I just can't afford to keep up with all the vaping devices and mods that are all available. I refuse to spend 1/4 of my weekly checks on vaping stuff when I can use it for my family, which is why I quit smoking in the first place "family". As much as clones are frowned upon, they allow people that have a certain budget to enjoy the devices they wouldn't have been able to purchase. I for one would never lie or pass this clone off as the real thing and I give props to the creator of it because it is one damn good device. When I bought the immortalizer clone, I got it with the Trident 24K. Cost me $34 for both. It would have cost me $245 not including shipping for the real devices. You know what I did with the $211 I saved, took my family out to Six Flags and out to eat eat the next day without worrying about whether or not I could afford to.

I'm all for supporting mod makers but in the end, I'm the one that supports my family. So I have to budget things the best I can. This Vaping to me, feels like a gambling addiction. I know how bad that can get coming from a family of gamblers. The first 5 months of vaping was pretty bad with purchases of $300 here, $400 there. It was pretty ridiculous. Now that these good quality clones are available. $40 here and $60 there is more reasonable and I can now justify spending the $300 once in a while on a high end device or mod.

Easy i was not critisizing you for your post, not at all.I just wanted to make sure everyone knew i was not trying to be an A#$ with what i posted that's all.like i said i know why there are knock offs out there and some of them probably are good devices.I can not comment on any knock offs as i do not have any "true knock offs" that is with the name, and exact look of the original. They vape alright for the price i paid for them nothing too exciting though.I just really hate it when the chinese knock offs use the name, design of the original high end device.I know the same feeling of having the vape funds getting depleted and it does suck, like you said.I do not try and keep up with all of the high end devices, should say,my vape gear is not all high end just a couple or three, that's it.I do purchase low end mech. and VV devices but i try to stay away from the true knock offs.
