Oh happy to be in here! And hi guys! I still use my proton because it is my favorite mod ever...does the Ares have the clip through type openings for the wire? They are the easiest for me to build on
Hey xena! Not sure what you mean by clip through. It's a drop in deck. So leads come out of the coil and just sit in two channels and are held in place with a screw that comes in from the side.
Best bet is to just take a look at some photos or the intro video I did...

Hi! I've never built before and wonder how much time would you expect to take doing it?
The Ares-2 would be perfect for you because the tank and the kit are designed with beginners in mind.
I can probably build it in a couple minutes. I can't say how long it will take you, but let's just say maybe 15 minutes the first time if that?

Watch the intro video and see how long it takes me and then maybe you can estimate how long it will take you.

Hi Guys,

Love my Ares 2 but it was the most frustrating atty to mount a coil on that I have encountered in years. Couldn't get the screw in one of the posts to tighten all the way with the phillips head. 7 or 8 coils and no stable resistance. Swapped them for the flat head screws, larger screwdriver and some torque, totally stable resistance.

After that, my Ares 2 is my #1 ;)

Looking forward to the LE.
Hey jack.

First, sorry about your experience with it. It simply shouldn't happen. If you continue to have issues, please contact support@innokin.com.

I am very happy that you like it once the screw issue was resolved.

Hello and glad to see you back on ECF. More of a Business question(s). How long did it take to decide on what changes were going to be made for the Ares-2 LE ? How long did it take to change the production line for those changes until first product being available ?
I have the Ares, three (3) of the Ares-2's and I'm liking the Ares-2 better. Good Job and Thanks

Thanks Seiggy!

I think we knew we wanted to do different finishes right away. Then we decided to do an LE. Once that decision was made, we needed better mouthpiece designs for it and we had to source the t2 torx tool.

I would say around 3 months total to put everything together.

Shout out to Innokin Cathy!! <3

Hello @Dimitris & @pbusardo ,

I have a couple of questions. Who's idea was it to call the tank "Ares" ?, and does "Ares" have any meaning or origin at all ?.
Hey evan!

We chose Ares because Dimitris is Greek and...

Ares (/ˈɛəriːz/; Ancient Greek: Ἄρης, Áres [árɛːs]) is the Greek god of war. He is one of the Twelve Olympians, and the son of Zeus and Hera.

So there's that story and the other where we were given a list of names that were available and we chose Ares. :)

Hello Everyone . . .

Now - Okay @Dimitris and @pbusardo I've got a question or two . . .

First, although I do have a few RTA/RBAs on hand - including the first Ares & now an Ares 2 for an emergency (also a coil build kit and all the other supplies too) - I have not yet built any workable coils at all (the times I've tried - Big Fail). In addition, I do not sub-ohm . . . Actually, I prefer premade 1.0 oHm up to 2.0 oHm coils.

So - I would be interested to know . . .

1) So besides having an experienced user test the Areas 2 LE - has any beginner (first timer) tested and built a coil for the Ares 2 LE?
2) How easy was it for them? Any beginner Reviews or Videos?
3) What oHm works best in the Ares 2 LE?
4) What range of coils can be used in the Ares 2 LE?

Last but just as important . . .

5) Are there any prebuilt coils by INNOKIN available, especially 1.0 oHm & above - for the Ares 2 LE?
(BTW: Couldn't find any information on them if there was.)

Thanks for the info . . . :D

.

.

Ok, so let's take these 1 at a time...

1) So besides having an experienced user test the Areas 2 LE - has any beginner (first timer) tested and built a coil for the Ares 2 LE?

YES! We have many people who successfully used the Ares as their first rebuildable.

2) How easy was it for them? Any beginner Reviews or Videos?

I've heard people say it was very easy.
ALL Platform products have tutorial videos available. You can see them on the Innokin website or scan the QR code that comes in the box. I do all the tutorial videos (don't worry, they're short :) )
For the Ares-2 we have:

Part 1: Contents

In this video we introduce the Ares II and go over the kit contents.

Part 2: Usage

In this video we go over usage of the Ares II including:

  • Building.
  • Filling.
  • Working with the air flow controllers.

Part 3: Maintenance
In this video we go over standard maintenance with the Ares II including:

  • Changing the cotton.
  • Changing o-rings.
  • Changing the glass.
  • Changing the top silicone fill port seal.

Part 4: Troubleshooting
In this video we go over troubleshooting potential issues with the Ares II or other similar atomizers including:

  • Leaking.
  • Flooding & gurgling.
  • Dry hits.
  • Short circuits.
  • Resistance fluctuations for temperature control builds.
You can see all those videos here:

Ares 2 – A Better Vape Experience

or here:

Ares 2 LE – A Better Vape Experience

3) What oHm works best in the Ares 2 LE?

Aha! Trick question. The correct answer is... the ohm that work best for YOU! When I build a Kanthal build, I usually come out somewhere around .8ohms. When I build with SS for TC, I'm somewhere around .5 ohms.

4) What range of coils can be used in the Ares 2 LE?

Not sure I understand the question. If you're talking resistance range I'd say .6ohms and up for wattage mode.

5) Are there any prebuilt coils by INNOKIN available, especially 1.0 oHm & above - for the Ares 2 LE?

The Ares-2 LE like the standard both come with 2 pre-wrapped Kanthal coils that are around 1 Ohm. Innokin does not sell stand alone pre-wrapped coils.

Hi Phil & Dimi! No questions – just wanted to give a big THANK YOU for all you both have done for the vaping community, and continue to do even though things are looking so bleak at this time. We’re very lucky to have you both as a resource (not only for vaping, but also to get the word out on how comfortable Sketchers are!).
Thanks so much hazozita!! That means a lot to us! <3

Hi @pbusardo, didn't know you were on the ECF. When I first got into vaping my very first video was your Kayfun Prime review. That was my first tank and I watched your video like 10 times to learn about coiling and wicking. Loved the spaced coil trick on the coilmaster. Saved so much time.

Boy was that a hard tank to learn vaping on. But it was great flavor. Thank you for your professionalism and attention to detail in your videos. Fortunately, we have similar MTL vaping preferences so I've learned a lot watching your videos. It really opened up my world to vaping.

Would love to try a tank you helped design, considering your thoughtfulness and insight.

So here's my question for @pbusardo and @Dimitris. Do you have an old tank or mod that you find yourself going back to? Maybe it's not the latest and greatest, but there's something about it that just keeps you going back?

For me it's the Kayfun Prime. It brings me back to when I first learned vaping and watching the videos. It reminds me of a nice time when everything was new. So maybe it isn't the tank itself so much as the time it brings me back to.

Hey CAAB! Yes, been a member of ECF since the early days, but don't get to spend much time here anymore.

Would love to tell you there is a device that I go back to and enjoy but honestly, I use the toppers I'm involved with because they just work for me and I know they give me the vape I'm looking for. So those being the Zenith, Zenith Pro, Zlide, and Ares.

But let's be honest. If vaping STOPPED with Kayfuns and Provaris, I'd still be a very happy vaper. :)

hi. how long did it take to develop the ares 2? were there any hurdles before finally coming up with the final product?
The Ares-2 was probably in development for about a year. And as far as hurdles.. yeah.. there was a big one.. COVID-19! The timing of our release was impeccable. It held the release back for months.
