If only... But, it's so not. I don't like the mesh coils either and refuse to try the 1.2 coils because well, I am stocked for life on the 1.6s.

An RBA would be interesting, IDK. I don't think the Zenith is remotely like the Ares 1 or 2 honestly. It is super not GREAT unlike the Zenith I guess you can't win them all and I still say the Zenith is THE drop in tank of 2019.

Anna

I actually prefer the Zlide 4 ml--my favorite tank--with .8 and 1.6Ω coils.

An RBA won't happen--Phil said so on several occasions--it would compete with Ares.

BTW, I really like my Ares 2.

Well, gave up on the 1.2_s. Burnt up within a week for the few I tried. Just like another tank that I tried, lol. Af wide open and 8.5 watts.

That’s too bad. There were some reports of some bad ones. I’m running one right now in a zlide 4ml with airflow open at 12 watts. It’s gotta be a few weeks old and still working good. Sorry about your bad luck with them.

They make the Ares, and Ares2 rta, a rebuildable version of the Zenith.

I recently bought an ares 2. I’m not liking it. I tried four different coils in it and still can’t get very good flavor.

I saw your posts and I'm sorry that it's not working for you. Made me worried, actually. But my Ares 2 is almost perfect. I just wish it had an option for a bit more air--I like airy MTL. But it's very good as an MTL tank, and I get a nice and loose MTL on its widest opening. Flavor is there, user friendly, 24mm, glass and ss--checks all the boxes for me.

I had high hopes for it. The only coil that gave much flavor was a twisted 28x 3 and that wasn’t great. The single round wire coils I tried gave almost no flavor.

I'm honestly surprised. I had some issues at the very beginning (I didn't realize that the included coil was 26g and I'm used to 29 and 28g), but as soon as I upped the wattage my Ares sang. :)

Taste is subjective, I guess. Everything about vaping is subjective--hardware, draw, eliquids. You like 1.2Ω Z coils--I prefer .8 and 1.6Ω.

IDK the kind of RTAs I like are not the kind like the Ares. Other than the SIren V2 which yeah has a velocity deck only I feel like the flavor is there if you build it right, and also, don't use eau de fairly, melon and honey dew. You need like a.... strong, easy going flavor in there.

When my Ares broke within days of each other I was not even mad.

What wattage are you running on the ares. I’m at 17 with the triple coil but the first time firing it takes a second or two to get the coil warmed up.

I'm still on the 26g coil (single wire) that came with the tank. Felt a big sluggish to me at 8-10 watts, so I'm @12-14 now and it's good. My next coil will be my preferred 28g 2.5mm ID contact coil. I think 26g is too slow for MTL builds. I'm also going to use my own cotton.

I really shouldn't be talking about flavors because I often vape unflavored or just barely flavored eliquids, so what do I know. But I'm using commercial and very familiar Ahlusion White Tea Pear in the Ares and in Zlide and can taste it in both just fine--not quite identical, but the difference is not dramatic. At least not to my taste buds.

It makes me wonder why I can’t get good flavor from mine. I tried the stock coil, a 2.5 and a 3mm 28ga coil and now the triple 28. I might try some small gauge Clapton wire next time I place an order.

I've been using the prebuilt coil at 12 watts for the last couple of days and it has treated me well. Initially started at 10 watts but realized pretty quickly that it needed a bit more for that coil.

If you barely vape flavored liquids has it occurred to you perhaps your infatuation with the flavor between the two tanks might be the FLAVOR?

Maybe it tastes the same to you because your taste buds are having a party in your mouth, not really because like, the two tanks are FANTASTIC.

I am pretty sure ONE tank is fantastic and I am pretty sure I know which one it is, also.

Unless you want to send me one for experimentation because like, sorry dude, I am paying ZERO dollars for that tank and Innoken does NOT want me to review this tank.

My review would start with the excitement upon learning there was an Ares 1 arriving and it had BUILD TOOLS and then..... the inevitable slight excitement followed by realizing the suckage only we'd be 10 pages into the review by then and well, no one wants that.

I've been vaping commercial flavored eliquids for almost 11 years and never stopped. When I buy a new atty, I always use Ahlusion White Tea Pear or Lime or Lemon Cream because I know exactly what they taste like in many different toppers. They are always in my rotation and are my go-to testing eliquids.

Infatuation? Where did I say I was infatuated with anything?

We are talking about Ares 2.
