Looks great and very useful. From that 2nd pic it looks to match the 18350 very nicely. Awaiting more on this...

I see the tech coming out in ecigs as transitional and every time I see improvements and sophistication. Constant wattage is a good next step, but I see thermistor based heat control as the final end to the problem. After all, wattage consumed by an atty translates to heat, which is the desired end result.
Using attys that provide a temperature dependent voltage feedback to the control circuitry will enter the conversation eventually whether that means a proprietary atty or a thermistor type device that is situated where it can read the coil. The introduction of juice as a heat sink changes the result of wattage provided to the coil. A dry coil will still be hotter than one that is immersed in juice. DC resistance won't change much and the wattage reading may just be the next step in the evolution of the technology.
Supply a constant wattage to a coil immersed in liquid coolant and the heat is dispersed into the medium. If you do the same to a coil in dry air, the heat is dispersed into the air. Resistance may vary slightly as the heater coil molecules expand and contract with respect to each other, but the heat factor is what we are looking for and that will vary based on juice feed.
Thermistor control will be the ultimate tech, IMO. I do see wattage as a good next step in the evolution of ecig tech, though. The problem with heat monitoring will be designing the monitoring circuitry to match all atomizers without the use of a proprietary atty that contains the thermistor.

Um... I agree with the darwin, and think that it's a better vape. Are we on the same side or not, as I'm confused.
Until I bla bla bla, I already did, and posted pics and vapes from it. So, yea I guess I do know a thing or 2.
As far as the programming, well yea, I'm a professional programmer, and have been since the 70's. And since I have already programmed the chip myself, I guess I FULLY understand EXACTLY what's involved. And it's no small feat. It took me hundreds of hours and countless prototypes to get it perfect.
So I will state again. It does not have to have a shunt, and it does not have to be innacurate.
And you can't have it both ways. It is either accurate, or it's not. Which is it? I only said that it could be accurate because mine is, which is this?
I obviously misread that at 4am. Sorry about that. As far as I know it is accurate, the Darwin is a winner in all regards and seems to be a fit peice of equipment. The "kick" is simply a shrunken version of the already tested Darwin unit, so I suppose that we will have the same great vaping experience.

You are a standup guy. I really do think that this is a great thing, and do appreciate your involvement. I would also like to apologize for coming unglued.
No problem at all, I think most of us are passionate about vaping and like to stand behind our favorite equipment. That lends to a passionate response at times. I will keep you all posted as I get info.
I'm so glad I stumbled across this... I'm actually looking at making a mod myself and was going to buy a Darwin to rip apart for the power regulator... But I think now I'll wait a bit for this, it'll be a much cheaper alternative
When you say it boosts, do you mean that it actually boosts the power up from what the battery puts out in order to hit the target output? I could swear the darwin uses two stacked batteries. I didn't think it was boosted.
That's what he means. And yes, the Darwin does do that. But this isn't the Darwin.
Ill keep it zipped as far as that is concerned, I dont think my personal feelings are needed in this thread.
I think I know what that is about and I don't disagree but, it's a great regulator regardless. I finally broke down and bought a buzz pro.
He11 yeah, that makes this far and away better than I originally thought. Might have to buy a few more now.... when it hits the market that is.
