Can't wait to try this mod out. Saw it was in stock and picked one up ASAP. Not waiting this time around.

I suppose if you have a collection of batteries of wildly different specs, protected & unprotected, etc. and use all of them simultaneously, it could be a pain. But batteries of similar specs, no problem. The o-ring is forgiving.Hey Mike long time no see........this mod looks like a real pain in the ... to change out for diffrent batteries...it looks as though you just have to use the same kind of batteries....by the way how is the button

Hi Equality - I really like the button. It's very easy to work w/ either the tip or knuckle of my little finger. As to batts, doesn't bother me - I have a bunch of 18650 LG's that I primarily use and they fit fine just as it was delivered. Also works fine as delivered w/ 18650 AW batts. So it's not a concern for me at all. And just 'to see' I just put in some flat top 18650 Panny's and they work too w/o any rattle as it was delivered. I think folks make too big a deal out of it w/ respect to batts.
The spring isn't involved. Fitment is achieved by the varying thickness of o-rings sitting at the bottom of the tube, which also insulate it.sounds like the spring gives you some leeway for baterry size.
Exciting...if you haven't seen the setup video, here it is. Most IMR batteries require you to do nothing to it as far as setup but if you do, its easy. A few are making a deal of it, only because they want to, not because its hard at all. Setup only requires a screwdriver and only takes a couple of minutes and then you don't have to do it ever again if you run the same batteries:
