I would agree Nach! Very impressive device David you have done very well with the Workhorse. I'm sure everyone who gets their hands on one will agree too :)

Hey Mike long time no see........this mod looks like a real pain in the ... to change out for diffrent batteries...it looks as though you just have to use the same kind of batteries....by the way how is the button
You're gonna like it - I can't put mine down. It's really become my Workhorse.

I suppose if you have a collection of batteries of wildly different specs, protected & unprotected, etc. and use all of them simultaneously, it could be a pain. But batteries of similar specs, no problem. The o-ring is forgiving.
For example my 18650 takes AW 1600s, 2000s, and VTC5s without blinking an eye.

Hi Equality - I really like the button. It's very easy to work w/ either the tip or knuckle of my little finger. As to batts, doesn't bother me - I have a bunch of 18650 LG's that I primarily use and they fit fine just as it was delivered. Also works fine as delivered w/ 18650 AW batts. So it's not a concern for me at all. And just 'to see' I just put in some flat top 18650 Panny's and they work too w/o any rattle as it was delivered. I think folks make too big a deal out of it w/ respect to batts.

sounds like the spring gives you some leeway for baterry size.

Exciting...if you haven't seen the setup video, here it is. Most IMR batteries require you to do nothing to it as far as setup but if you do, its easy. A few are making a deal of it, only because they want to, not because its hard at all. Setup only requires a screwdriver and only takes a couple of minutes and then you don't have to do it ever again if you run the same batteries:

Pretty much just like the precise simplicity. Once you tweak a few things you don't have to do anything to it unless you change attys a lot.

Ordered my 500 Workhorse on Sunday and got it in today ;)

Very nice job on the machining and finishing of this mod! Worth every penny :D

Here is a couple shots of it with a Satburn 22:

Only one minor issue, the SS washers must have been pulled from the wrong bin because they wont fit over the screw.

Looks like the Brass spacer is the equivelant to a #10 washer.

The SS washers I got with my mod were #8's

Should have pulled the #10's instead ;)

Luckily I work in a machine shop and had plenty of washers to choose from so not a issue for me, hopefully my case was a isolated instance.

I set this up with the Purple Effest 18500 batteries, had to remove the 2 thick rubber o-rings and replace them with the 2 shorter o-rings, for the pin I removed the thick brass washer and added 2 of the #10 washers and was all set to use with these batteries.

Congrats on a nice mod, anyone who is on the fence about getting one should !!
