I just tried to change the CE2 in the Torpedo tank and I must say I had a very hard time. I just about destroyed the bottom aluminum cap doing it. If someone can post a video showing exactly how they do it, it would help a lot. I'm holding off buying another one until I can figure this out.

I'm not good with video's but I'll do my best to explain. I used 2 sockets from a socket wrench. A small one 3/16 and a larger one 7/16. Put the extension on the 3/16 one and place the bottom of the tank on the larger socket. Take a hammer and tap out the cartomizer from the battery end. It will render the ce2 useless but that's how you will get it out.

I was thinking though. Jonah you could incorporate a rubber type sleeve, or plastic so that would work and then you could work it out by hand. It would be nice to be able to change it on the fly. I think the tank is great but changing out the ce2 needs to be easier.

If you re-work the bottom cap it would be mighty nice of you to make just the bottom cap available to us who have purchased a tank from you at a reasonable price so we don't have to buy another tank.

I am working on a new bottom cap design (quick change CE2) if it works, I will offer the new bottom cap for $15 with one CE2 installed. With your choice 3 pre-cut CE2 or $10 refund for return of the old bottom cap. The new caps will also come with new tubes due to slight length change in the tank. I will know if it will work in the next couple of days and if it works I will get the parts and start making them as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Jonah

That's awesome Jonah. Please Send me a pm when one is available. I did install a sleeve with my new ce2 but it has a slight leak. I did it again, and it still has a slight leak. I checked for any damage to the cap and there is none. The very small leak is fine as long as I know there will be a fix for it soon. Thanx buddy.

Yea. Although mine doesn't have any noticeable damage, I think that's why it's leaking. I cant see anything scratched or marked but I can't imagine the aluminum not getting stretched from this.

The problem with the SSR setup is you end up with a tank the size of the 5ml tank using a regular CE2 because of the adapters so you really can't have a mini. Not a big deal but I much prefer the shorter size of the 2.5ml tank. Perhaps a delrin sleeve would be the answer?

It's actually a simple remedy. No hole in the bottom of the tank at all. Have a pressed in proprietary 510 connection on the bottom of the tank, and screw the ce2 into that.

Or make a larger hole in the bottom with a adapter. Set your ce2 in tge adapter then install the adapter into the bottom of the tank

There is no way of getting around a new tank bottom. It's just to tight of a fit.

I want to note: even with this problem (which Jonah has ensured us he is fixing, which is awesome) it still is a great tank. Once he makes the new bottom cap it will undoubtedly be the best tank out there in my opinion.

It will take a little time fender, I am working on it. In the mean time because your using a clearo in a carto tube rather than a cut carto try putting some plumbers white thread tape on the base of the clearo them pushing it back into the tube.

Please put me on the list for the new designed bottom cap. I replaced the CE2 but had to have help from a machine shop to do it. I really would like to be able to change it myself...without destroying the great craftmanship. This is the only tank I use anymore.
