anybody having problems with dry hits?

Yeah. I'm blaming it on the way the E2 wicks, the wattage balance and my tendency to vape faster than the E2 can wick juice.
Mine came with a 2.6Ω E2 (per my request) and I've found that the highest voltage I can run it at with any success is 4.35V.
I also tip my PV down often to drown the top of the wick in juice to keep the coil wet.
Dry/hot hits have nothing to do with the tank. It's all in the way the E2 functions. They just don't wick like filled cartos but I love the flavor I'm getting on these now. I thought that flavor was lacking a little at first but after they get a bit broke in the flavor is drip quality IMO.
I'm loving my tank. I'm using it a LOT more than I thought I would. This is going to make my stash on IKV cartos last forever. (sorry Isaac)
Can't wait to get a stainless one. Yeah, I'm gonna need more of these. I have about four flavors that I'd like to keep tanked at all times. :)

I agree, i do not blame it on the tank, they are awesome. I think i am just hitting it to often and not giving it a chance to wick. Tipping does help. thanks

It also seems to help if you take it apart and rinse the wicks and coil off real good under a mild stream of warm water and pat the wicks dry with a paper towel and let it sit over night to dry completely. As I was instructed by Pete54, dry burn 3 times for about 3 seconds each time to clean the coil and that sucker's like new again. I've done it twice in the last week.

I will be offering the new bases as soon as I am satisfied with it. The deal will be $15 for the base with a $10 refund or credit on my website that will go up in a couple of days for return of the original base. After I have taken care of previous customers I will offer both the original and the new version. The original will stay $40 the new one will be $50 the price increase on the new version is for the cost of labor in making it. I will also be testing a stainless and Pyrex model next week and if I am satisfied with it looking into making some. I will update further soon thank you for your patience.

I have completed the testing and I am now making a list of replacements I need to send.
Please email or pm with the size and finish or tank you ordered from me, as well as your address. The first new bases will be ready to ship by Tuesday when the post reopens. The replacement base will cost $15 shipped with $10 refundable or credit with return of original base, this offer is limited to people who have already purchased tanks from me. With the new base it is easy to change out the element, but it has to be cut to the right size and it has to be a metal CE-2. The pre-cut replacement CE-2 are extra if you want one please include $3.5 per cut CE-2 and specify the resistance you want. I will post in this thread the length to the cut CE-2 for the DIY types.
Thanks,
Jonah

New tanks in both V1 and V2 will be available after I have replaced the parts that people have problems with. The V1 unit will be considered an advanced user model from this time forward, do not buy it if you are not good with tools and/or don't have strong hands.

I will post pics after I finish vaping the fluid in the test unit or when the first production unit is ready. It looks the same on the outside the change is inside. The new base has a O-ring and a small step in it, this makes it easy to change but provides a tight leak proof fit. To change out the CE-2 you take the tank apart and pull the CE-2 out one hand on the base the other on the battery. It fits snugly and wont come off if you pick up a heavy mod by the tank, but comes off and on easily for even my smallest friends and customers.

cool, just curious. I actually have not had to change mine yet. But want to try to stay with original, we'll see if i'm capable when the time comes:) Good luck with the website.

Thanks, I am getting a lot of help. I am good with design and sales but web design is not my forte.

@JonahNM: I'm interested in buying one of your tank. Is it made of SS or Aluminium? Do you ship internationally? Pyrex tubes are interesting too. What's your website?
Sorry if I ask too much questions. :D

I will PM you as well but for the sake of others. At this time I am making Aluminum tanks, I ship internationally on a case by case so contact me if you want one we will work it out. I am talking to people and testing on the Stainless and the Pyrex and the Website is coming soon / I will let you know as soon as I have ECF approval.

I am really excited about the torpedo tank, from having read through this entire thread. What are the differences between Pyrex & the material you are currently using?

I just love watching the evolutionary process happening with vapping. Love the idea of your product and am looking forward to getting one.
