I did take the fam out last night, it was to see another modder/machinist but I did take them out.

LMAO...thanks for the update and info and no rush just excited that's all.

I am trying to teach myself to punch cartos, got me a one punch tool from Lowe's last night and use that for the small hole and open it up more with a nail. Not sure if I am supposed to use a hammer with the punch tool since it's called one hand but oh well, it's spring loaded and was only $5. It's not pretty but it'll do. Now just trying to figure out what kind of device or tool to use to hold them in place, I got some clamp but doesn't work that good, then thought about a vice but not sure that'll work either.

Quick question, are those regular 510 cartos (stainless) on your site Boge version? I know you have punched ones but saw those were SLB.

Thanks again and will wait patiently or try at least :)

All the cartos I have are regular size SLB, XL smoktech.

Here's a simple solution to protecting the filler when either slotting, drilling or punching a hole in a carto. Take an old SS tube and use a dremel with cutting wheel to cut a section from as shown in the picture below. Now slide it between the carto and filler. Works great and is easy to make!

How far up the tube is the optimum location for punching? I've read 6mm up the tube section and I've read 9mm so I'm not sure what's accurate?

Thanks
So far I am finding 11 mm up the tube section to be optimum but I would guess it changes from one tank design to another.

Another trick I learned from heymichael is that if you take the small (mouthpiece side) condom from the top of a Boge Carto and put it on the connection side, it pretty well marks exactly where to make your cut/hole. This measurement works for any bottom cap that is the same height as the Map Tanks. I believe Jonahs are the same height. Prior to using this method I was cutting mine at 13mm.
