Completely unlike the OUTSIDE since Facebook is a giant money making platform, and that’s central to why it’s run unethically.

Not to belabor the point, Surf, but, well, money is people too--it belongs to a person or persons who decides how to spend it. Rules and laws are made by people. It all comes down to people and how they behave.

People can choose not to be involved in a platform that allows the promotion of hate in order to make a dollar.

People can.

That's not exactly what we're discussing, but I agree. How do you feel about promoting hate in order to promote hate, then? No money involved. What's the difference?

I avoid all hateful places as I abhor hate and hateful people. Be it monetized or free.

A peaceful protest in an online forum would/could contain hateful comments. To promote what exactly is wrong would mean having to describe it. Peaceful protests are based on something that people hate. So they express that.

Facebook is an abomination from top to bottom.

Safer to protest about something by doing it online i think, just to get it off your chest, if nothing else.

No money involved undeniably validates the authenticity of the protest.

I didn't invent the general idea of "A-Z".

I did conceive an A-Z of vaping hardware. It isn't in any way monetized.

Mark Zuckerberg took an already well recognized concept of someone elses and uses it specifically to make money. He can hang all the bells and whistles on it as he wants, but the fundamental "hook" is all in the name. And without the particular name "Facebook", his platform is worthless !.

I'm afraid that we're veering way out of topic of this thread. It's perhaps partially my fault, so I apologize. This subject would be better discussed (and I'm sure it already is ;)) in the Outside, so I'll just bid my adieu and wish you all a very happy Independence Day!

Only by a small margin. ECF, from my point of view, isn't seeing much action these days. There's mention of traffic going elsewhere. FB was one of those places mentioned. "Incidentally, don't you just hate Facebook" is a valid point to discuss when ECF members are going there instead.

Go and talk about it on Farcebook, it's got nothing to do with vaping:lol::lol:

It's terrible here already, we've been hitting 100's already and got 6 days over 100 next week, my air con can hardly keep up.

Oh, you need to be here then...

Yesterday's high was 85 F. and this morning I woke up to 64 degrees F.

Could probably skip air conditioning all together still but it's getting just a tad on the warm side in the afternoon so I'm trying to find a happy medium somewhere with it.. lol

Last year, I figured I had learned about all I needed to know about vaping to be able to continue on with no other input from the forum. After all, it's not exactly rocket science though new folks do tend to overthink EVERYTHING. And to some degree that's understandable. But all in all, theres only so many ways to get a vape to your personal comfort zone and give up tobacco cigarettes. I considered leaving the forum just because I really wasn't learning anything new. This is not saying I know all there is to know, but that I know everything that I NEED to know to continue vaping. Everything else is just speculation and someone else's opinion. I stayed on anyway though. Maybe I CAN help some new person find their happy place.

posters that hate facebook making the exact facebook style posts that they hate about facebook!
    Well done!

What exactly is a ''facebook style post'' as far as i know facebook hasn't invented nor patented a style.
Whatever you think the facebook ''style'' is it was probably done back in the years BC (before Christ) and with less lols, wuts and roflcopters.

Some of us hate facebook (and other social media) for what it represents, the need to share their life with strangers, the need to feel superior and the need to think that everyone is just waiting for you to post a pic of what you having for lunch.

I still remember better times, when I would open a "General Discussion" forum and see only today's posts. Yesterday's posts I could find only at the bottom of the second page. What I see now? Only ten (10!) threads are recent. And at the end of the first (FIRST!) page I see 3 threads that are four (4!) days old. Sad, isn't it? I loved ECF...
    Contribute some worthy content then.
