I am a happy camper with my VTR so far! I can use it to test the coils on my RBA, and I use it with the extention as a rebuild stand.

Just one thing about the VTR and IClear 30s combo (non moving base) I find just a little bit annoying, my tank unscrews so easily from the connection! I have to be careful not to nudge the tank when I am vaping, or it will unscrew from the 510 connection! Forget putting the thing in a deep pocket.

Well, I've been using this thing for a week now, and it's turning into a love hate relationship.

I absolutely LOVE the form factor. Size wise, it's nearly perfect. A wee bit heavy, but you get used to it. Still, it could stand to loose a few ounces.

What I hate about it. You're limited to what you can use on it and keep the partial protection aspect of the device. I was hoping like crazy my PuriTanks would fit in this thing. Nope. The PuriTank is a shade too big. My RSSTs won't fit either (although I knew that one ahead of time). The adapter makes it far too top heavy and if you're going to use that, might as well stick with a tube mod.

I think they'd have a grand slam home run if they were to shave a few ounces off the thing and redesign the protection ring to where you're not limited narrow "toppers". It's a nice device, but sadly, it won't become my "daily driver".

Total vaping newb here...

I just ordered the iTaste VTR in green and am awaiting its arrival. I am currently using a Triton Tank system with VV battery and it's nice, but I am hoping that the VTR will be a step up from the Triton. I really like the design of the VTR, and I am thinking that the supposed heft of the device will be a plus for me....

I ordered a PT2 and a Davide BDC to use with the VTR and of course the iClear 30s that comes with it, so it'll be interesting to see which tank I like best...I will keep you all posted!!

Very cool; thank you so much for the info! I will definitely check out the group section!! I will not be around this weekend sadly; otherwise I'd totally be there....sounds like a fun time!!

Yeah I am very excited to get my first mod (the VTR). I bought it off of ebay (not sure if this was the best place to buy it, but oh well), and it came with battery and charger. The seller says that he thinks he's sending me the version WITH the rotating 510 connection. In all honesty I was hoping that it was going to be the fixed version as the rotating version is known to have problems with reading coil resistance, but hopefully I get a good one (crossing my fingers!!)...

Just in case, I found this: VTR easy fix

I have a $49 one I bought on Black Friday, but fortunately it has the fixed wheel.

Excellent; thanks for the info!! Yeah I ordered mine in Green from ebay, and it wasn't until I already placed the order that I found out about the rotating wheel issue. I emailed the seller and he says that he thinks that he sent me one with the rotating wheel. I was half tempted to return it for one with the fixed wheel, but I guess I'll wait and see how I make out with the one I got. Maybe I'll have no problems, we shall see!!

Sitting down, facing forward.
Rather than pouring vodka into your VTR to fix the contact problem IF you get an early version with the spinning connector, I'd suggest using a Q-Tip or cotton bud with a little isopropyl alcohol or EverClear to do the same thing. There are two rectangular cutouts, 180 degrees apart, on the 510 connector that will let you get a Q-Tip/cotton bud in there without risking the electronic inside the VTR by soaking that connector in any liquid. I cleaned mine that way when I first got it and haven't had a problem since. I also went through the 'spin it 'til your hand falls off" trick a well, but the alcohol is what I think did the trick.

Thank you for the tip! I will definitely clean down in there when I get the VTR. I have some 70% Isopropanol which should work well....I will be sure to let you know how it goes...thanks again!!

That sounds great to me. I plan to use the I clear 30s that came with it until It quits working or I get tired of the gurgling they make, then use one of my RBA's with that 510 adapter. Thanks for the info Worzel!!!
By the way I like everything about the VTRS except that it is a real battery killer. Even the high drain unprotected bats I have seem to dim to red real fast. I may need to look at my battery situation closer.

I have only 1 high drain 2000 mah unprotected battery, it will last about 4 hours charged fully at 4.1 volts. I admit I chain vape 2.2 ohm at 6.5-7.0 watts. The other batteries I have are regular amr 1600 mah (orange) I don't think they are unprotected. They probably aren't high drain either because they last about 4 hours the way I vape.
I think I'm suppose to be using high drain unprotected but when the only one I have goes to red I still need to vape while it charges.
Will it tear anything up to vape amr 1600 mah batteries in the VTRS? I don't understand much about batteries, I have read so much about them, but understanding them has not been a side effect.

Gimpy, invest in some good batteries like Panasonic or AW. I use Panasonic CGR18650CH, 2000mah, and get 4-5ml of liquid, at 9.5 watts, through them before they need a charge. I'd also suggest a good charger, Xtar VP1 or NiteCore I4. I like the VP1 because it supposedly has the best algorithm for lithium batteries and a voltmeter. Stick to IMR, non-protected, batteries for the VTR. Protected batteries may work as long as their maximum current capability, with protection, is over 5 amps or so.

Incidentally, my VTR goes to amber at about 3.8 volts and red at about 3.6 volts. It shuts itself down at about 3.4 volts. In the "real" world a lithium battery can safely be taken as low as 2.7 volts without damage, so the VTR is sort of over protecting the batteries. That's not really a bad thing though.

Thank You for all that info. I usually remove and recharge that one AW high drain non protected at the first red blink on VTR. I will be investing in some more so I don't have to wait for it to recharge. The other was I have don't have high drain unprotected on them and may work. But my face or hands don't need anymore damage. I have a pretty good charger for the aw's I think.

If you want dripping taste you might want to try a Vision Aurora with an eGo adapter. The Aurora turns the VTR into a bottom feeder and it fits in the VTR's tank cubbyhole. I pair Aurora's with HH.357 atties or you could rebuild the Aurora heads with a micro coil. The only significant downside is that they only hold 1.6 ml. of juice.

I would guess that reducing the weight of the VTR as well as increasing the size of the tank cubby would involve some costly retooling. As much as I would like to see both I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to happen.

Since we're on the subject of batteries for the VTR: I am currently awaiting delivery of my VTR, it will be my first mod (very excited). Regretfully I will be receiving one with the spinning 510 connection, so I'll just have to cross my fingers that I do not have an issue with it.

Now I bought 2 IMR 18650 2000 mAh batteries for the VTR, which I know will work well. What I do NOT know is whether the Panasonic NCR18650B non-protected 3400 mAh battery is a good fit. I picked up 2 of these as well figuring they may last longer, but I have read somewhere that these may not work well with the VTR....is this true? I made sure I got the NON-Protected ones, btw.....

Please excuse me if this is a total newb question....because, well, I am a total newb!!
