Thanks for all the help... This was the battery that the guy at madvapes recommended I use.. According to the post by Batitude I should use a lower amp, higher mah battery, which is exactly what I will be doing.. Definitely need a better quality charger as well, this one was the $10 special.... I'm learning something new everyday! Thanks again everyone!

My observations are that the VTR is no harder on batteries than any other VV/VW mod I have. I have older Innokin VV V2s, an Innokin 134 and a couple of Vamos, an original V2 and an "improved" V2. Panasonic CGR18650CH batteries all perform about the same in all of them with 5 to 7ml of liquid per charge depending on the power setting.

As far as weight is concerned, man up, LOL. I like the heavier weight of the VTR. I have the holster for it as well as a cell phone pouch that is actually for "first responders". It holds my VTR, my cell phone, an LED flashlight, a pen and a spare Spinner with a T3. Since I wear it on a belt, no problem with pulling my pants off.

I have one high drain battery 2000 mah has what looks like a E in a diamond shape, only one b&m had. It will charge to 4.19v and that's it no matter what charger.
I will have to get some better batteries I admit.

I don't get but about 3ml use with this one.
I use that new I clear thing that looks like giant cartomizer, on 9w, I get about half a day, then recharge for fall a day.
Nobody's fault but mine though.

I will look into something for my belt, I think Army Surplus store will have something.

Thank You, Thank You Verry Much.

I don't want to knock B&Ms, but they do seem to have a tendency to sell items that give them the highest return without being overly concerned about quality. You've been vaping long enough to have the experience with them. I usually do an online search for a specific battery type and either go for price or availability. Off brand stuff is a little too risky, both in not meeting specs and posing a hazard, for me to bother with.

From what you're saying about that battery, it isn't meeting the advertised specs and the charger is really not appropriate for it. That battery should, and I stress should, be able to accept a charge rate of at least 1000ma, 1amp, safely. That would charge it fully, based on the 1600mah spec, in under two hours. Multiple hours means that the charge rate is far below 1000mah or the battery is just not accepting a charge. Either way, get more than one battery. Backups for backups of our backups!

Everything you said I agree with. Truthfully I don't know enough about bats. Or chargers to even be using them. I will probably blow my face off one day.

I thoroughly enjoy my VTR. It's big, strong, and heavy. Reminds me of when I use to go shooting and admired the workmanship of pistols and rifles. I've had to problems with mine. No buzzing, no burnt taste, no metallic or machine oil taste, no problem reading the ohms. I feel blessed. It's a real beast and puts out some vape with the IclearS on it. I'm glad it's part of my collection. Happy Vaping. :vapor:

I ended up replacing my broken VTR with a new non rotating wheel version. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong but my Protank II fully screwed on is air locked and I get no airflow at all.

Anyone else having this issue? I ended up putting a spacer in that lifts it off the connector a bit to get airflow to it. Also have some airflow controllers on order. I did not have this issue at all on the rotating wheel version as I assume the air came from under the wheel not above.

@VRx: Yeah I've seen (or rather got nothing in airflow) the same thing. The grooves on my Protank 2 are horizontal and don't intersect with the center of the tank so there's only a little cross-over with the centered cross of the VTR fixed ring 510 base. (|| lining up with + if you know what I mean). I unscrew it a little, or just give in and use the tall extension tube which has no issues. Defeats the pocketable, protected tank aspect of the VTR though. I don't use my Kanger Protank 2 for anything but home vaping with my VTR (works great with my Zmax though no airflow issues of course with that deep well).

Yep, I have it, PT and the iClear that came with it. I also ordered the airflow adjuster to use as a spacer.

Well, after having a chance to play with my new VTR over the weekend, I can honestly say that I am LOVING this Mod!! This is my first 'real' mod (upgraded from a Halo Triton) so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I am really digging the VTR! I bought a few different tanks to use with it. The iClear 30S that comes with it is a great tank. Really like the draw and ease of use. The next 2 tanks I tried were the Protank2 and the Davide BDC. Both great tanks....

The one tank that I really wanted to like was the ISmoka BCC Mega. I loaded it with my favorite eJuice (Black Cherry Pina Colada) and the thing hit like a champ. However, when I tried to reload it I got a LOT of flooding. I took the clearomizer completely apart several times & dried EVERYTHING, but each time I put it back together it flooded again.....Maybe I need a new coil in it to get a fresh seal? Who knows...But I am now afraid to use it, because I don't want to flood the 510 connection on the VTR and ruin it!!

Anyway, back to the subject of the VTR. Having both VV and VW is nice. I find myself running the iClear 30s (2.1 Ohms) at about 9.5 Watts, which gives me about 4.45 Volts (having an Ohms law calculator on my phone is very handy!!). It's weird - sometimes I prefer running it in VW, and other times I prefer VV. With the Protank 2 and the Davide, I find myself using VV instead of VW. Not sure why, but it's fun to play with nonetheless...

As far as the weight goes, I really like the weight of the VTR! It feels 'sturdy' and rugged, and I like that about it. It feels like I can drop it and it'll be fine. My wife thinks its WAY too heavy so the weight is not for everyone. She just got into vaping around the same time I did, so maybe I'll get her a slightly lighter mod....

My VTR came with the 'fixed' 510 connection which I am happy about, but one thing my VTR DOES do is "buzz"....when I push the 'fire' button, I can hear a faint buzzing sound coming from around the 'fire' button area. I have heard others talk about this..it seems like a common thing with the VTR, so I am not too worried about it....I am currently using 2 Panasonic NCR18650B's in the device, and I have an IMR 18650 2000 mAh battery as well. I find that the Panasonic NCR's last a LONG time; more than 24 hours in most cases..Another thing I noticed with the VTR is the "rattlesnake effect". As I understand it, this is due to the 33.3 Hz chip used in the device? Is that right?m Anyway it does not bother me one bit....

All in all, I am really impressed by the VTR. I just thought I'd share my experiences thus far. I am a vaping newb here, so I am sure I'll have plenty of questions for you guys down the road! I also just placed an order for a Smok Magneto with a Kick 2 (and an IMR 18500 flat top). I really want to experiment with Mech Mods, and I figured this would be a good place to start. I have been doing a LOT of reading/resarch, and I decided that mech. mods would be fun to play with. I am a Service engineer by trade, so I think that mech mods would be right up my alley...more 'hands-on' so to speak....And it's only a matter of time before I get into RBA's!!

Yay, a good set of batts. And a good charger, and now I'm going on my second day it's still lighting up green and bat shows 4.v after using all day Sunday.
Army surplus had a canvas holster that will hold more stuff than I will want to carry, but plenty of room for anything I want to put in it, and now I can keep my britches on.

My vtr is functioning perfectly...
Rotating wheel below tank is still reading resistance values correctly...and I really love it.. Variable Volts and watts allow me to fine tune it to my eliquids
.....
However...
The weight of this device has become a problem..
I may actually have to buy a pair of suspenders to keep my pants up...or a Fanny Pack.
