The Oxide Layer, What is it? | Highly Educated Ti Blog Here is a link about TI oxidation. That's what I've read from other people too and I think I'm not going to chance oxidizing it too much. Before I made the first Ti coil I flamed a bit of wire with a Bic lighter and got it to glow quite red. It didn't burn but I did get what seemed like soot on it and under the soot the wire had changed a bit. I then hit it with a propane torch and that got the wire to burn but it self extinguished after burning up about 3/8" of itself. That part then crumbled when I touched it. I'm not worried about it igniting after that little experiment, but yes, the oxidation part might not be good. I'll have to do more research into that if I continue using it.
On another note, I was quite happy with the Ti build yesterday and had no problems with it. When I came back to it today it wasn't vaping the same. I found the resistance had about doubled, the mod was out of TP mode but both coils were firing. I snugged down the post screws again but I couldn't get good contact back before I broke a wire.
Is this kind of thing common with Ti and/or Ni or am I doing something wrong? I might try doubling the wire tails over next time so I have twice the wire to tighten down on, but I have my doubts if that will work well because Ti is so springy.

I love my 150W. I honestly rarely vape over 100W. Its nice to have it if you need though.I might have accidentally purchased a sig 150w this morning. Lol. I kinda made an offer on one on ebay just for the heck of it. Never dreamed they'd actually take it. Snagged it for $80. Lmao. So I guess the 100+ is gonna be my spare soon. Haha
I think I've had my 100+ up to 100 watts about 3 times and immediately turned it back down. LolI love my 150W. I honestly rarely vape over 100W. Its nice to have it if you need though.

Good one buzzzlove, thanks man. That got me wondering about toxicity and I found this on Wikipedia on Ti dioxide. Section 4 is on health and safety and it reads pretty safe to me for the exposure I imagine we would get from vaping. There is however also Ti monoxide and Ti trioxide to worry about. But not right now![]()
I cant wait for the Lemo 2 to get here! I have a big-O- fat 24 guage 5 wrap coil reading .29 just dieing to get in to its new home. I also have a Billow coming a friend had 4 of them and threw one my way.I've had the first Lemo since the day after it was released. Its one of my favorite tanks still, even with a number of high end ones now. Eventually I'll add the II.
If the 150 is built as well as the 100+ I'm happy to make this mistake. My 100+ has been with me all day, every day since November - ish. Bounces around in the console of the work truck all day long. Lol.Good one Ive had much worst mistakesI have a 150 VTR I dont use it much I generally vape around 50 to 60watts I have a IPV 4 coming in to replace my Mini 2 Im tired of changing batteries so much at work this thing gets the worst battery mileage of anything Ive used. It seems reliable so var and it has taken some abuse so for 50$ I cant complain.
I did quita a bit of studying before I ordered any ti wire. It looks like to me keep it under 600 degrees and all is good. might not be to smart to lick your coils or eat your old used cotton but I quit doing that weeks ago so Im all good.
I think its a crap shoot I see plenty of people posting about box mod problems but we are not the exception lots have good things to say about them.If the 150 is built as well as the 100+ I'm happy to make this mistake. Haha! By then it'll be like stone tools are to us. Lol. if I get a couple years out of it I'll be more than happy.I think its a crap shoot I see plenty of people posting about box mod problems but we are not the exception lots have good things to say about them.
Nancys IPV Mini died on her in a couple of months. I guess its kind like cars sometime a lemon happens. I hope your 80$ 150 lasts 250 years!![]()

My fiance growled at me when I told her. LolThanks Spidey, that one is going into my 'excuses for the wife' book for future reference![]()
I'm happy I got mine. It's got tons of power and though I haven't figured out how to use 150 watts all at the same time yet, it's there if I ever want to try. The only thing that disappointed me a bit is they don't boost so 'only' go up to battery voltage, not the 8.5V that is frequently mentioned. Usually I research better before I buy something, but it was a good price and I was looking for something with that kind of power. I'm still happy with it nevertheless.
Best of luck with yours!
I'm liking my billow more and more every day. Def one of my new favorite attys.I've run a few tanks through my Billow and I've enjoyed it. I also have a Lemo 1 but I can't say the same for that. I've put the Lemo aside for now because I'm having too much fun with Ni and Ti, but I'm going to go back to it sometime. I think you're going to like your tanks.
