Kayfun Nirvana!
Thanks Chad. It's still screwed up. Still shows in California and scheduled delivery on the 12th. I called the vape shop today and told them if they keep using the USPS, I'll be buying from someone else that uses FedEx or UPS. The going price on this thing is 100bucks. I paid 120 plus 5bucks shipping. I would say they made enough money off me to not go cheap with crappy USPS. I REALLY wish they would sell the postal service to one of the two shippers that KNOW how to turn a profit. For starters, the waste of space behind the counter should not be making the kind of money they do. Ever notice how US postal employees are the KINGS of avoiding eye contact with you standing in a line stretching out the door??? ~rant off~ I just wanna try the KFL+ dammit! ;-)

As of typing this, the kayfun Lite Plus appears to be back in stock at VapeRev for those who wish to order domestically within the USA.

Thanks. Grabbed me one and already showing shipped. Added to the 2 tobeco clones and the rocket I snagged my protanks will be added to the wife's gear. Now I'm just wishing I had snagged 2 instead though.

OMFG! I got my KFL+ today. (Only 4days late, thanks USPS) I gotta say this is one AMAZING device. It vapes like a F*(^&$n Steam locomotive! The flavor is off the charts. Now I know my build might not be optimal. I used 32g kanthal, 5 wraps around a 1.5mm drill bit and got 1.5ohms. I then used all 4 strands of peaches and cream yarn, tucked it carefully through the coil, down onto the shelves and laid the rest on the sides. On my evic at 11watts, this thing is the best vape I've had since I started. Thunderball said it best. Protank WHO? I'm a believer. Now I just need to get my hands on a semovar and find an R91 to compliment this lite plus. THANKYOU to all of you who led me to the light!

Ultravaping.com still has it in stock, the price is kinda high, but they included a free t-shirt that might fit my tiny wife. Too bad they dont use UPS or Fedex, I would have gotten it on time. One last thing, for the price of this thing, I cant believe it comes in a box the size of a spark plug. And the additional little baggie with the extra o-rings and spare screws was with the t-shirt. ;-/

You know, 2-day priority mail translating into 5 days (minus Sunday) kinda takes the point away, right? My mailman is so unpredictable; stayed home so I could be sure to do the signature confirmation and he just whizzes on by. Sad day. Oh well, I just rebuilt my Squape and it's vaping like crazy. Can't wait to jump on the KFL+ bandwagon!

Picked up some juices today to throw in it once I got it built up. It's a vanilla RY4 and even through the crappy vision clearo testers at the shop, it tasted amazing. I can't wait to be put in heaven.

I just received my KFL Plus last night. So far I have tried 2 different micro coils. The first was wrapped on a small precision screwdriver that I use for my pro tank heads. Flavor was top notch but got dry hits after 15 minutes. I don't think I used enough wick. The second build was on a larger prec screwdriver that I use for my IGO-W. Much more wick in this one and not a single dry hit.

Next I am going to try the smaller coil again but with more wick and hope for the best. Any advice from seasoned KF builders would be appreciated. I run 1.8-2.2 coils using 30 guage kanthal with a provari

Overall, I really love it but not sure it is good for out and about travels. It is so big and heavy compared to my Davides

Try 10 wraps of 30 GA Kanthal on a 1/16" drill bit. This should bring you right in your target range. Finding the right amount of cotton to use is a trial and error thing, but you'll get there.

For my protank heads, 7 wraps of 30 guage gets me 1.8 which is what I do every time. I don't use drill bits to wrap so I have to guess when I read people post how many wraps on a certain size bit. The little precision screw driver I use is the size that can adjust the airflow on the KFL Plus. It also fits nice in the slots of the protank head to make centering the coil a piece of cake

I am just curious if that small of a coil is too small for the KFL Plus. The wick is thin but maybe I can make up for it with the length

If I remember correctly, my PT 10 wrap, 30 GA Kanthal wraps were coming in a little over 2.2 Ω on a 1/16" bit (but I could be mistaken). The same build on a KFL+ will come in a little less because the PT has longer coil legs. Also, I don't think that the PT head can fit much more than a 1/16" bit between the slot openings when fully seated, so your screwdriver diameter is probably not too far off from my suggestion.

Resistances can also vary with the integrity of the coil build and with the wire itself (I think that mine is slightly out of spec). But based on what you've said, you may want to start with a 9 wrap coil. My cotton wicks keep up with my vaping style on a 1/16" coil, but you'll have to find out what works for you.

Got my Kayfun Lite + a couple of days ago. I went with my standard build for everything: 5 wraps of 28g Nichrome wrapped around 2mm silica - doubled. I want to experiment with some more interesting builds soon but I thought I'd start with "old reliable".

I had a few issues out of the gate . . .I overtightened the airflow causing minor flooding and leaking. I then unscrewed the top, not realizing it was also loosening the chimney at the same time and had severe leaking.

Within a few minutes, though, I got it working right and it's been working great ever since. Compared to all my other devices, this one is the best by far. The best flavor, easiest to build and as much or more vapor than any of my other rebuildables.

I rarley spend big money on vaping gear and $100 bucks seemed like an awful lot. I did a lot of research, though, and really felt like it might be worth it - because I love rebuildables but I find them mostly a pain to work with and leaky. The Kayfun Lite + has delivered fully . . .easy to rebuild, performs great, doesn't leak, looks cool, holds a ton of juice . .what more could I want?

Can someone tell me what difference if any would be experienced with the kayfun would these two different builds offer?

32g Kanthal - 1.5ohms/cotton OR 28g Kanthal - 1.5ohms/cotton

I'm using 32g now, because I haven't ordered other sizes of wire yet and local vape shop is a chain and only sells egos etc...
Assuming the finished coils are the same resistance, (give size difference and number of coils/diameter) I dont understand
what difference will be experienced by the heavier gauge.
Thanks

From my experience it depends on the device. I have only been rebuilding for a month or 2 now. The first guage I got was 28 and it would take longer to heat up on my provari. I got some 30 guage and it works like a champ. I think 28 guage is more for mechanicals and higher wattages. Don't quote me but that is my understanding

I've never had a dry hit on any one of my KFLs (have 2 + and one regular) using 30 gauge micro coil (7 wraps - 1.6-1.8 ohms on a ProVari, Roller, Semovar at 3.6-4.2 volts) - either I've been really lucky with choosing the amount of cotton for the wick, or maybe the fact that after I thread it through, I work it back and forth and try to sort of have the "fluffy" part of the wick in the coil and not the rolled part. I also take fairly steady steady draws that last no longer than 3-4 seconds and pause for 5-10 seconds after a draw to make sure that it can wick more liquid.
