dam i wish i were you. i tucked, i bent, i stuffed, made the wicks short, made the long still cant get it to where its consistent and not give off a nasty flavor have 2 or 3 drags. even the first 2-3 drags are sub par. really starting to get frustrated.

Are you saturating the wick before you seal it up and fill it?

of course.

i need to keep priming the wick every 4-5 drags by holding finger over the air hole. i made the wicks so short on this last one that its about 1mm higher then the deck folded down. 1.7ohm at 4.0v i get burnt after the 4-5 pulls. i would think this wick system would probably flood it. only using 50/50. i have the flow control screwed in pretty close to make it a tight draw so i dont have to keep priming it, but the draw is pretty tight. vapor isnt amazing but decent considering how tight i have the air flow control i cant open it much because it wont wick. i have just the right amount of cotton in there i made sure of that.

i mean it works well if the draw is tighter, just not so great if the draw is open. doesnt flood at all.

Have you checked to make sure that the o ring in the lid that seals the chimney is present and not damaged?

How's the airflow? Dry hits usually (can't really help a lot as I haven't gotten the Kayfun for longer than two weeks) mean that juice is not getting through the channels. The only problem I had at the beginning was the complete opposite of dry hits, flooding and that's because I did not use enough wick. I've done over 6 coils and rewicked them for a grand total of about 20 times in this short time just to get the hang of it and never have I had a single dry hit. It's always flavorful, to the very end of the tank. Also check all of the O-rings. I can't really think of anything else. I do put quite a bit of cotton and tuck it real nice on the sides facing the channels after adding juice and priming it.

Don't give up, take your time and carefully analyze your build. Watch a couple of videos on youtube, the one that I looked at to make my first setup was the tutorial from Rip Trippers where he shows both a micro coil and a chimney style coil. Ever since, I've been in vaping nirvana with this tank, and can only think of replacing every RBA I've got with them and just keep a couple of drippers for home use. Once you get it down you won't look back.

You have to wonder where the gurgling comes from. Yes, it's juice, but where? How? The only place that makes any sense is the air hole and hidden passages. Think of it as a steel sinus and you have the right picture.

Flooding doesn't clear up on its own. Once it floods, it'll continue to gurgle no matter how well or not the wick is working. You have to blow the "snot" clear through the whole system.

It's possible to have gurgling dry hits, too. That'll fry the brain a little until it wraps itself around this idea.

spent the last 5hrs rebuilding coils and rewicking. i think i got it down. it really doesnt need much cotton at all, just enough to hit all coils. also cutting the wick short and flattening it out and spreading just above the deck seems to work better. how you guys are getting flooding i will never know. i loosened up the draw cause it was just too tight for me. its wicking good, i can sense when it starts getting a little dry just give it a few primer pulls and that does the trick. also not filling the tank up to capacity also helped.

Glad you got it down!

I've never had to give it primer pulls. It's always soaking wet. I've filled it up to the point it straight up spills out, and still wicked good. With a bit more time and practice I'm completely sure you'll get it down and it'll be extremely easy to rewick.

One reason other than the chamber getting flooded (very tight draw or closed airhole and drawing on it), it's the coil sitting too close to the airhole inside the chamber. Clearing the gurgle is quite easy, just fire your mod while blowing through the airhole for 2-3 seconds until it goes away, as that'll get that excess juice out of the airhole, unto the coil while it's heating up and drying it up.

Actually the latest build I did no priming necessary. Hitting like a champion. Lung hits are producing clouds!

Hey, I haven't been on a couple days or so, just wanted to post a comment about my new KF mini.... Well I have to say, I've been using it for almost 3 days & I have to say that I am pretty happy about!! Honestly the size of its kinda weird getting uses to, cuz of how thin & long it is, but it is definitely lighter than the kfl+!

For work, it's fantastic as it feels a lot better in the pocket all day & it holds a solid 3mls of juice & hits hard with tons of flavor.

I'm pretty happy with it, but I definitely will be keeping my Kayfuns for now on & not selling them off when I'm not using them, love these devices.

Kayfun Nirvana!
Thanks gang for running this thread. I have FINALLY found a KFL+ today at ultravaping.com. But I gotta wait until thursday.... I hope thunderball is right, back a few pages ago, he said this thing will make you want to throw away your protanks. lol

For now I only have 32g kanthal, 1,2 and 3mm silica, and some ecowool and cotton or course. Is anyone running 32g kanthal in this thing? If so, what would you advise to for coil turns and coil diameter? I'm thinking 5turns on a 1/16" drill bit micro coil. But I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks for the help, I'm glad I can finally try a high end device. I just hope it lives up to the hoopla!

It will make you want to throw away your protanks. That's exactly how I felt. First time I took a drag off the kayfun I couldn't believe it. It was that good. And everyday I'm still appreciating the taste I get from it.
Sorry. Never used 32g on the kfl. 28g/1.5ohm for me currently and using the truman build from the other kfl thread.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong any help would be great! I got my Kayfun about a week ago and i was getting a nice cloud of vapor. Now recoiled it and not so much vapor. Im using 28 gage 9 wrap and getting 1.4 ohm on provari with cotton wick. Any help would be great!

Maybe too much cotton or the cotton is getting into the air channels.

I was curious about the 'truman build' reference, so for anybody else that is interested, here is the post:

I'm currently running dual coil using 32ga at a total ohm reading of 1.1, so it fires on my evic or my mech ... very impressed so far.

I did a test build with dual coil at 0.3 ohm using 28 ga and doubled up cotton yarn wick....OMG it was amazing. Hot vapor, thick intense flavor....it was awesome. But I'm sure it was dangerous, that's pretty low...so do not try it at home. Be safe.
