I use sterile rolled cotton from CVS. Found in the first aid aisle or can bought online CVS Rolled Cotton - CVS pharmacy

For me organic cotton balls start out with an odd flavor before they break in and the flavor is a little muted compared to sterile cotton.

LOL first review for that was a person using it for vaping. $3 for 100 organic cotton balls and $5 for less :(

Yeah when i rewick with organic it tastes cottonish for a little bit and goes away. Not sure about the muted ness... ill give it a try, i figured ive been somewhat getting vaper tongue since the juice ive been really vaping on is mothers milk.

Funny you should say that. I just switched from sterile cotton to organic as well. I thought that I might be developing vaper tongue due to a diminished flavor as I was getting very little flavor out of a dual coil build. Switched back to single and it isn't as good as I remember my single coil being. Switching around my flavors helped a little, but I am just a bit dissatisfied.

I am going to switch back to my old cotton material and see if that does the trick. I would hate to have to find a different wicking material, but it may come to that.

Where did you get it from? I got a Tobeco from Venerable Vaping for a new vaping friend and it had the same problem. AJ replaced it. Said there was 2 out of 100 that had the issue. I have a real KFL and am very familiar with building it, but for the life of me could not figure out why it leaked so badly.

got it from fasttech, that is Tobeco? yeah I dunno, replaced the seals, and let it sit overnight full and it didnt leak, but leaked after i replaced the seals the first time,

you know I think i like the 3.1 better, it seems sounder mechanically, better air draw, the top peice seals better, and it dont leak unless you fill it wrong.

yah think??? but yeah if it keeps leaking i probably got a dud.

regards

i have too much organic cotton to go out and buy more cotton unless it makes a big difference lol.

Whether it's a bag of balls or a box of rolled it's pretty much a lifetime supply, but cotton is so cheap it's a small investment to try different ones. No, not really a big difference between organic and sterile, but even a small improvement for the rest of your vaping career for only $5 is a deal you won't find anywhere else in vaping. And if it's not an improvement for you personally, meh, only $5 to find out and you may find another use for that box of rolled cotton.

Fasttech could be using multiple manufacturers, Tobeco being just one. I think you may have a dud. Try to return it. Honestly the Kayfun is so hassle free I love it. I know what to do when something goes wrong, if ever. It's a simple, awesome vape.

Ok a question for experts.
I've been debating the solid tank section on my KFL. The look of all that stainless is sexy.
Buy how do you know when it's full and when you need a refill. If you can't see the juice. How the heck can you tell the liquid level?

Vape it until it's dry! Seriously, mine starts to taste a little different just before it's empty.

I use the SS tank because that's all I have at the moment, but I do really like the look of it too. I can tell when it's empty when I get a dry hit lol. I notice it before the cotton burns, but the tank is pretty bone dry when it happens. I fill from the top and if I want to check the level I open the top using the same technique to prevent flooding as when filling that way.

It would be nice if I had a sensitive scale that I could weigh an empty tank on, and just set it on the scale to get an idea of how much juice is left.

that is exactly what I use. should open up after the wick soaks up completely and breaks in. Takes me a couple puffs.

other than that it is good. what else have you used as a wick? I think it compares favorably with silica and ekowool

This is the first wick I've put on myself, before I had the local vape shops teach me how to do it and they put an organic cotton lace in it instead and there was never any flavor issues then.

Is it just me or do more fruity flavors not taste as good on the KFL+ compared to non-fruity flavors? My Mother's Milk and Grandmaster taste comparably as good on my KFL+ as they do on my Trident but Beastmode (Apple/Kiwi) and Melon Head taste considerably harsher and less flavorful.

I find that fruity flavors are not affected so much by the unit but by the build and wattage. I prefer my barrista and bakery flavors at lower ohms and higher watts. Fruits for me are better at higher ohms and lower wattage.

Picked up a V2 last week. The redesign of the top cap sure makes things easier. I like how the threads now engage before the captured o-ring seats on the chimney and as you thread it in the ring seats

This was my first thoughts about the V2 as well... definitely makes refilling from the top less awkward
