Are you saying that the o-rings will need to be replaced after several months?

Have you tried O-rings that are authentic? If so, how do they hold up?

My Ulton is still working fine after almost 3 months, but all the clones I've tried had O-rings that had "seams". Ulton, SXK, LieFeng, 3 manufactures, 5 clones.

I ordered some authentic O-rings from crème de vape, so I am curious if they last longer than just several months.

I'm not saying that at all. The o-rings were still sealing fine. I got my clones around new year and replaced the o-rings maybe a month ago. So the stock rings were still sealing fine after 5+ months. I replaced them just to make sure that the sizes listed for the kayfun would work in the sxk and that the silicone o-rings that i bought would work fine. I'm fine on both accounts.

I haven't tried the O-rings sold as a package specifically for the authentic Prime. I really have no reason to. I'm stocked up on the silicon O-rings in all sizes and they work fine. I wouldn't mind having spare insulators and maybe a couple spare glass tanks though. But an authentic spare glass tank plus an insulator kit costs nearly as much as an SXK clone. At least the O-ring set comes with spare screws and it's cheap.

O-rings are injection molded. There's usually flashing remaining from the process which is supposed to be removed after they come out of the mold. Maybe an incomplete removal of this flashing is what you are referring to as "seams". But regardless, the stock O-rings in my SXK clones looked like regular, run of the mill Buna O-rings. There was no flashing or "seams" on the O-rings in my clones.

Lost impulse control. My SXK is a V5 and too airy. Just ordered SXK Prime from same seller that offers an extension kit.

I thought I was OCD until I was reading this thread https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/t...campaign=ed42&utm_content=iss38#post-20912515

I'm probably lucky that I'm in a place that things have to go under the radar to make it past customs, my design tastes are conservative, I'm picky, the postal service is insanely slow.....

Still, going to the U.S. in a couple of months, think I'll get an authentic prime while I'm there and maybe a DNA250C so I can at least give it a months test of the board before going back to a place I can't do a low hassle return.

Well crap that doesn't bode well for me haha. The misses just ordered me an SXK KF Prime this afternoon, and I was hoping it was just a newer V5. I loved my V5 but I like the airflow on my Cthulhu MTL better cause Im a 'restricted' lung hitter. The Cthulhu is a habitual leaker though, at least mine is, so I was hoping the Prime was more of a V5 in that same direction. Should've read more reviews on it first haha. Hopefully by now they come with the right sized o-rings. Guess Ill know in a month or two when it gets here from Im assuming China since these are impossible to find over here.

I got the SXK Prime a few weeks back. On the largest air flow it is slightly more restrictive than the Ulton. Also on the SXK Prime I got adjusting the JFC is definitely more effort than the Ulton. The Ulton glides smoothly. Still no leak problems with either of them.

I did get the MTL kit for the V5 from Crème de Vape to see if I could get it into my SXK. I was able to get the biggest one pressed in and I am really happy with it.

Hopefully its not TOO restricted wide open or Im gonna feel bad she wasted that money hehe. Thats the thing about the Cthulhu MTL. Its called an MTL, but with no inserts and even halfway open, that thing is a lung hitter, and I was hoping the Prime would just be a K5 with a tiny bit more airflow, not even less! My style changed almost instantly a couple years ago when I swapped out my old KF4s with a couple of Derringer RDAs. With a single coil and one side wide open, the Derringer was probably my favorite atty. I just got tired of like pulling up to stop lights and what not and having to redrip real quick before its my turn to go haha. The K5 was a rad step up from the 'sucking on a straw' feel of the V4, but still not quite the Derringer. Bought a Cthulhu V2 which has to be the worst atty ever designed (juice control ring is totally useless and doesn't work period, and it has to be wicked just right or its leak city).. The MTL was a big improvement but no matter what, it leaks in between the tank and the AFC, and because of the juice control on it (which is similar to the KF5), after a couple of refills it always manages to pull the wicks out of the channels and I have to take off the tank and stuff em back in for it to stop leaking and working right again. Just tilting it back to much to vape it and I usually get liquid running onto my hand.

Opps, "Also on the SXK Prime I got adjusting the AFC is definitely more effort than the Ulton". It is the JFC that is a lot more effort to adjust on the SXK.

SXK Prime JFC really started to stick. It is o-ring #11. Back on page 1 is someone else showing the same problem and comparing the O-rings between SXK and Ulton. I looked through the spares for SXK and the correct one is not there. I got 3 sets of Prime spares from Crème de Vape and used one of the #11's and now JFC is gliding. Still no leaking or gurgling.

Kind of suspicious of the poster DG as they joined and only posted on this thread pumping the SXK Prime.

Nedeljko who posted on page one was spot on. The Ulton Prime beats the SXK. If I ever get another V5 clone I'll try the Ulton or possibly the SMJY. But I think it may be worth just getting the V5 authentic with the mtl kit.

I have SXK and Ulton.
SXK have not so good o-rings.
My SXK have occasionally micro gurgle after refil, other owners have more problems.
Sxk prime leak when refill: FastTech Forums

Upper tank is SXK, lower is Ulton, same position on both (o-ring no. 11).

Yep, dead on. The SXK #11 is 1.5 and definitely the wrong o-ring. No leaks.... yet. The Ulton I have had a while and it has been good :)

As I have said before, the SJMY is the best V5 that I have ever seen. You absolutely will not be disappointed.

Have you actually purchased the Ulton KF V5 to compare the SJMY to?

Never mind, looks like the Ulton is a 25mm version. Looks like SJMY may be the last man standing.

Yes, I have the Ulton 25mm Kayfun 5. Ulton did a beautiful job with this tank, but the SJMY is a tiny bit better I think.

I was trying to compare the 22mm. I don't see one for Ulton. I was assuming you were talking the 22mm SJMY V5 with your recommendation.

Do the 25mm versions all have the 3mm air flow that the MTL kit can be used on?

The air intake hole is the same, but the airflow adjustments are larger on the V5 25mm version. I don't know anyone who actually uses a reducer in Kayfun 5, so I cannot answer.

The first pip setting on the Kayfun V5 is plenty tight. In my opinion, it is far too tight. I am still astounded that some people need to use a reducer on a Kayfun 5. If folks like things this insanely tight then perhaps the Prime is a better choice.

My SXK V5 was too airy without the reducer, even at the tightest setting. The SXK Prime is slightly tighter full open then the Ulton Prime. I like the Ulton full open, but sometimes would like a little more air. With the largest reducer in the V5 I can now get a little more air then the Prime which I want and also tighten it a little if that's what I feel like.

I have Sxk Prime, not very good.
Gurgly, tends to leak from airholes, topcap is difficult to open, the threading is not the best. And its just a bit too loose in the tightest setting. Flavor is very good.

I have also Sxk KF5 mini and it is much better build quality, all threads are great. But not usable in MTL at all so I have not used it in ages.

Never had Ulton clones so cant comment on those.
