You might want to let them know what Str8 said about Veratad just a couple of pages back. Veratad has been used by tobacco vendors for years. I will dig up the post number for you if you need.

Here is the post: List of vendors Age Verification requirements.

Well there has been a lot more conversation than what I posted, they don't think Veratad will cover them properly, they seem pretty set on BC, hopefully that will change, but I'm not going to keep pushing them though.

If all the vendors switch to Bluecheck, 2018 has arrived. I won't be buying anything.

Just placed my first order w/ ecig-city. No indication of any AV during the check-out process.

Thanks Mike. I have them down as Unknown. :)

Id 'unknown' your way of indicating there was no age check required but 'unknown' if one is active in the background. Unknown to me seems to indicate there's an age check but it's unknown what 'process/provider' is being used.

"Unknown" is explained at the top of the AV list. :)

Dudette. Hang loose. Relax a while, this crap will be here tomorrow.
Take off your age verification kicking boots and cop a breeze :)

 I'm not tired because of this thread. I didn't get much sleep last night so I think it might be a good time to say goodnight. ;)

What ...... me off as much as requiring a photo id was the fact that I wasted so much time shopping and checking out just to find out I couldn't shop with them. So I'm starting this thread in the hopes that others will post their experience with online vendors age verification, if any, so we don't waste time shopping with them if their requirements are unacceptable to us.

Thanks for your co-operation in this matter.

    Vendor Age Verification Procedure List

Thank you so much for starting this thread, Terry!

Great information! I have nothing to add at this point as I haven't placed any orders after 8/8, but I will report when/if I do.

There's no way I'm sending anybody any selfies. What a mess.

Does anyone know what the logic is behind wanting anyone under age 27 must be visually IDed - and before anyone says anything I know thats an oxymoron when government is involved. I mean you csn drink after age 18 in most states so why 27 for vaping. Seems an odd age.

I think it's believed those over 27 obviously look well over the established legal age and so don't require the addition scrutiny. I don't drink but do buy "Everclear" 190 proof pure grain alcohol (PGA)for flavor extractions, retired and sporting a head full of silver hair I'm -never- asked to produce ID for the purchase cause...well... ;)

Which completely makes sense for a face to face B&M transaction. I think the need for meeting that requirement for an internet order is a misinterpretation of the process required for compliance. I understand vendors are anxious about how the FDA will be enforcing the regs, but this selfie thing is likely not required to meet the regulations.

However, if the age verification service cannot properly establish age using the public record information supplied during the transaction, which can occur for lots of reasons that aren't nefarious, a copy of something like a drivers license with a date of birth can still be required. That DL image can be edited by blacking out the license number, and should still be acceptable for establishing age.

Hmmm....I wonder if it has to do with cookies. Maybe you could email or call them and ask about this? :nun:
I just got off the phone with My Freedom Smokes. I explained that since being verified on my iPhone I can no longer place orders on my iPad. They looked up my account and couldn't explain why? They said it goes by your account, not your device. I have no idea what's going on? But you can disregard my tin foil hat idea about the original device. It is odd though, I do absolutely everything on my iPad, always have without an issue, now I have to place orders with MFS on my iPhone :?:

That is really weird. I can only see that happen if there is some sort of cookie/token that's required, but if you're going in through your browser (does MFS even have an app?) it should work whether on your phone, tablet or PC/Mac. Have you tried it from a PC/Mac as well?

I've only used my phone and iPad. My laptop has been in the closet since I got an iPad  I don't really have much use for PC's. I never looked for an app for MFS. I'm not really concerned about it, just adding my experience, at this point I'm sure I'm just adding more confusion. It's more than likely an Apple issue.

@MikeE3 I may have misunderstood what you were saying. If you saw the explanation on the AV list, then could you explain what you mean. I'm confused. :(

"Unknown means the vendor may be using Veratad which is invisible to the buyer unless they cannot find a match, then you will be asked for additional ID OR they may be using some other invisible AV service."

My check-out at ecig-city was either "unknown" or none at all. There was no mention of AV during check-out so I don't know if it was transparent to me or did not happen at all.
