What are "faggots" in the sense you guys are talking  (okay, meatballs  )

And what's a "love spoon"? :?:

The faggots seemed more of a sausage and looked yummy. Now I can't find the darn page, saved about a million of them..

The love spoons were very ornate spoons from what I saw but I don't recall the historical signicance...brain couldn't absorb all that good food with a spoon... had to have my eyes! The cup was at a museum gift shop and had the Welsh alphabet, I think that will be a lovely way to remember my visit when I get to go! :)

See aren't they beautiful??? I wouldn't ever use it for fear I would ruin it. Now a good cup on the other hand...

It's ok Kitteh, we are talking about food and kitchen ware.
Ooo! We could get one and send it to Kayte & Doug to be "protected" with their method of making wood DT's :D

Well, if we could afford them

Nah they don't, probably the priciest I've seen a love spoon though so either they're so ornate they can't be replicated cheaply or these people are way over charging.

LOL, unfortunately it won't be for a good while...finances for that sort of trip take me a bit of saving and these past couple months are eating those up rapidly. but one day when things are bright again, I'll show up on Welsh's door step! :)

Here is what I re-found though not exactly what I saw before: Faggots are oven roasted and traditionally, served with brown gravy, peas (most often, mushy peas) and Welsh bread spread with Welsh salted butter. These days, in keeping with public tastes, pig’s innards are no longer used.

Faggots are still made daily in Wales, and can be found in many market towns. The most famed of all is Neath Market, where faggots and peas have been served since the 1920′s and still a favourite today, a Faggots and Peas Competition is held every September.

Historically, both ...... and various pasties were eaten a lot in Wales, especially by miners, quarry and furnace workers, for they were easy to transport, could be made at least the day before and provided valuable protein needed for such strenuous work.

    1 lb 450g pigs liver
    2 large onions
    4oz 100g breadcrumbs
    3oz 75g suet
    2 teaspoons chopped sage
    2 teaspoons salt
    1/2 teaspoon pepper

    Here's my future mug
