Duly noted. This works well for me because I have more VG on hand than PG anyway.

So when it comes to rolling the mesh, I get that you want to roll it around a toothpick or needle or something as a guide, but how much overlap are you shooting for? How many 'layers' thick should a rolled mesh wick be?

p.s. I am very grateful that this thread has become Rebuilding 101, I know I'm not the only one here who is taking their first foray into the rebuildable world with Mark Bugs.

Okay, SS Mesh has a few tricks...

1. Cut the mesh at 45 degrees bias from the grain. It wastes a little mesh because you can't just cut the sheet into a bunch of squares with no left over, but it makes the mesh infinitely easier to work with.

2. Make the strip about .75 inches wide. Take one edge and fold over like 1mm and press smooth with a straight edge. Then roll from the opposite side. This makes it so the edge on the outside is smooth, without any frays to cause hot spots. As long as it is oxidized completely, it will work great.

EDIT: BTW, even though you use a toothpick or needle to guide while you are rolling, afterward you want to slide it off and roll it between your thumb and pointer finger to tighten up the roll. The smaller the "tube space" in the middle, the better it will wick.

33ga Kanthal A, Cotton Yarn wick. Using this setup in my Mark-T right now and it ROCKS! It seems that at first, you have to keep the cotton constantly wet, but after about an hour, it acts like any normal wick, except that the flavor is more pronounced and "clean", if that makes sense.

EDIT: Crap. Thought for sure I hit the edit button.

BTW I wrapped these around an eye glasses screwdriver.

Where is everyone picking up Kantha A or SS mesh?

Pretty much all Kanthal has been gotten from coinswiesiek on ebay. He currently doesn't have any in stock though. SS Mesh can be gotten from themeshcompany.com dirt cheap, but takes a while to ship. You can get it from mcmaster-carr @ mcmaster.com for like $20 a sheet. Part number 9319T46

Thanks for the help :) Kanthal A, right? Not Kanthal A-1?
I feel bad I keep asking all these questions. I should have picked up more knowledge than I have by now. I'm a slow learner.

When he has it in stock he usually has both. I've been playing with rebuildables and genesis atties for a while. Can't even count how much I've saved not buying chinese atomizers anymore.
