This has been discussed over and over, and no. It is better for the end user to get our own custom made battery, than a 14500 - which is an overrated battery, of low to medium quality.

The reason the eGo is so good, is partly because of its own battery - thats where it gets its high battery life from - if we were to put a 14500 in there, you would _NOT_ get as long battery life, not to mention the design could not be so small and sleek. :2c:

This really is so true, you can not underestimate it... ;)

.. and coupled with Mik's groundbreaking revolutionary design,
with the most popular atomizers in the world..
... there you have the eGo!

Ahaha nice one Toby :)

But it is true. And if youre interested esz you can probably dig up the old thread about the Baby J and the eGo, where we discussed this subject alot - and if my memory serves me right, even those that were against using a proprietary battery, ended up prefering it - due to the bonuses: Longer battery life, sleeker design.

Okay, I just got my USB eGo about 30 minutes ago.
First impressions are good. Just like any Janty eGo.. Ahhh, there is one thing I would like to mention. It is LONGER than the reg eGo when they first came out. Because of the Mini USB port in the front, its roughly 7/16" longer than the original eGo. This is so there is enough room for the electronics of the usb charger plug. The red light is ONLY @ the top part of mini plug..(button side)
Seem a nice feel, being longer.. Its charging now and I did use this for a few drags and no its NOT like vaping @ 5v.. Its still the 3.7v (3.1 actually) that the eGo is designed for..
I cannot wait for the Baby J.

Hey guys - im closing this thread, seeing as the eGo carry case is out NOW!

And yes, it will fit XL and eGo USB batteries - however not fully assembled. But with the included ring protectors, i honestly doubt people will find the need to carry a fully assembled eGo anyways, since you will be able to keep your eGo in your pocket without it misfiring anymore!

Anyways, thanks for reading, and commenting - and I hope you enjoy the product!

(as of writing, right now, i know Janty France and Ivapour has the eGo carry cases in stock if you want to go take a look )

I'm thinking about buying an XL. I currently use the standard eGo with LR attys. I've also seen the mega-eGo attys, and Joye mega attys. What is the difference? And can I use the standard LR atties with the XL? Do they handle the increase in power? I've also seen the mega carts as well. What is the best/safest combination of carts/attys? Thanks!!

This morning I took delivery of my Ego with2 USB batts (I'm a Janty Stick fan and couldn't get an Ego until these came out - I need my USB!)

After charging via USB cable(took about 1.5 hrs) I gave it a blast - and it's terrific! Excellent vape with excellent flavour. Then tried it with an LR-EM5 atomiser. Very very good! I like clouds of vapour, and this delivers in spades. The vape is also pleasingly warm and thick when using the cone.

A worthy addition to anyone's vaping armoury imho.

Question about eGo XL

I'm thinking about buying an XL. I currently use the standard eGo with LR attys. I've also seen the mega-eGo attys, and Joye mega attys. What is the difference?
The Janty eGo XL atomizers are the same as the Joye mega atomizers except with Janty branding.

And can I use the standard LR atties with the XL?
Yes, you can use them with the eGo XL batteries.

Do they handle the increase in power?
They have greater capacity, 900mAH on the XL batts , instead of 650 mAh on the standard eGo batts, which means they will last longer before needing to be recharged.

I've also seen the mega carts as well. What is the best/safest combination of carts/attys? Thanks!!
The round XL eGo carts are to be used with the round XL eGo atomizer.
The standard eGo/Dura carts fit the standard eGo/Dura atomizer.
You can use all eGo atomizers with both the standard and XL eGo batteries.

Hi!

When will the ring protectors without the case come out? Because at this price, and with room only for one assembled eGo, let me put it politely: I am not going to buy one. :D

I'd immediately buy a dozen of the clips, though!

Alex
Seems like anticipation is sure disappointing these days :(

I have a mega atty and cartridge I picked up from a member here. I love the look. It makes the eGo look more like a cigar and the vapor production is awesome, for a few puffs. My problem is the wicking. It doesn't seem to wick all that well and if you let it sit, it leaks like a freight train. I set mine down last night while the family and I ate dinner. When I came back the area around my switch on the battery was wet. I pulled the atomizer off and everything was soaked in juice. I cleaned it up and took a few draws. It bubbled and sounded like a water ...., but still produced really good vapor for about 5 hits, then it tasted burnt and dry. I let it sit for about 2-3 minutes and it hit fine again for about 3-4 draws, then again tasted burnt and dry. I think these atomizers are fantastic vapor machine, but they need to devise a way to seal it better and probably close off the filler some to keep it from seeping liquid out when not in use.

Do you know the difference in charging times?

Switched,
I finally have those times for ya.
It took exactly 1 hr and 40 minutes to charge the eGo with the Mini USB cable hooked up as it took me 2 hrs and 3 minutes for the usb cable screwed onto the battery back end.
Thats a big difference for me.. LOL
maybe not.. hehe..
