Not to bust anyones chops here, but I dont believe we have ever claimed it to do anything except be as a normal eGo, but with USB charging / possibility of vaping while charging.

The reason we dont do direct USB at 5 volt, is that we believe it is unsafe for your computer, and your e-cigarette, and also the atomizers are not build to handle it. So while some people might enjoy it, it is not a "mainstream" option at the moment as you need to know what to do, and how to do it so you dont blow up yourself/your computer/your atomizer. :D
Mik,

IMHO you need to stop being so defensive, and take a chill pill. I understand this is a vendors forum, but you jump on any comment that you deem inappropriate.

No Janty never claimed that the eGo USB batt was a 5V passthru. As I pointed out it is to be considered in the same function as "the stick". Even a true direct passthru (non Janty) without an in line battery will not provide 5V vaping on most USB ports because even if the voltage might be there, the amps are not. It is something Stu pointed out, and I merely expanded upon. This IMHO is important info. We are here to keep customers happy not unknowingly lead them astray.

I support Janty's position wrt why they don't create a direct PT. I personally like the idea of a USB eGo, for those that need one.

Take it for what it is worth. This sub-forum has caused many folks to cease participating and leave of late. Because it is not conducive to conversation or an exchange of information.

Yesterday was a prime example of this in this thread: Baby J voltage? - E-Cigarette Forum where the OP never got an answer to his question, until late this morning.

So the long and short of it, I like Janty's products, I have several, but at the same time, Janty is not the second coming of Christ. With all due respect Mik, you don't like our attitude but many of us who are not "fanboys" per se, are getting a tad tired of yours. <---- no offence intended.

Your supporters (customers) are pretty well aware of what is going on in the ecig community and understand the pressures you and Janty may fall under. To allienate your customers IMHO is counter productive. Take it for what it is worth. :toast:

I think its quite obvious that I was simply adding to the info, and that you are the one being extremely defensive, and for some reason you feel attacked by what I wrote. Maybe, just maybe you need to step back a bit and try to realise that I did nothing except just that; add info, and explain why we have the direction we have. In our own forum. Thats not being defensive, thats using the forum for what it is being used for.

So.. sorry buddy, but this is on your shoulders, im not the one looking to start an argument, you are.

Have a nice day.

Hummm

Don't worry I am gone.

Hope you are not serious. Your voice is one of the reasons why this forum didn't become the same love-fest the GG forum was (or "is" -- I haven't been there for a long time).

I always find your comments valuable. While it is great that Janty has the head designer participating in a public forum, there is a reason why many companies do not allow that. A good designer is not necessarily a good spokesperson for the company.

BTW, I bought eGo, but it is in transit (either that, or my mailman developed a vaping habit). But I want to say that I made the purchase only because of comments and observations from people like you. Those comments made it possible for me to know exactly what I was buying.

As far as I am concerned, Janty should be giving you a commission. :)

If not that, Janty should make sure you continue to participate in the forum. That is, if Janty likes informed customers.

Switched,

Hate to see you go-- I'll learn from you elsewhere.

The raw emotion between the two of you is beyond repair right now I'm afraid.

Hopefully, equilibrium will ensue.

Thanks guys, it is appreciated. My straightforwardness, objectiveness and honesty are not the most welcome. Get a hold of Stubear for an invite to the eGo Social Group where things can be discussed a little more openly, and hey I am always only a PM away.

+1. I know there are many people who feel this way. I also know that those who aren't capable of seeing things for what they really are may disagree. Bottom line: the man's got heart! Combined with intelligence, guts and integrity, well, occasional controversy is inevitable. It really would be said if he left.

Okay enough with this .. move on guys.

This is not a forum about him or me, so please lets not make it into one.

And Sar:

If not that, Janty should make sure you continue to participate in the forum. That is, if Janty likes informed customers.

We do like informed customers - noone has said the opposite - noone is making him leave. If you have a problem with him leaving, message him - I dont see any reason to post it here.

While it is great that Janty has the head designer participating in a public forum, there is a reason why many companies do not allow that. A good designer is not necessarily a good spokesperson for the company.

A good customer, is not necessarily the best customer to give advice to other customers. Many truths, not just one solution.

---

And, with that - i am closing this thread. If anyone else want to give their support to Switched, then by all means do so; in a message.

If you look here: http://www.ivapour.co.uk/catalog/product/gallery/image/828/id/345/ you can see a small ring protector sitting on top of the eGos button. This will protect the button from misfiring when its in your pocket.

This ring protector is a Janty product, and comes only with the eGo carry design case ( also shown on the picture ) for now - after a period of time ( i dont know how long ) we will release the ring protector as an accessory.

Mik,

Do you have a visual or can you explain how the ring protectors operate?

The Janty eGo ring protector clips over your eGo switch button to prevent accidental firing while in your pocket or bag.

The ring can also be clipped on reversed, enabling use of your eGo while out and about, so you don't misplace it.

Suitable for all types of Janty eGo batteries.

Probably the easiest way to attach the clip is to just slide it on.
You can easily line up the Janty logo on the clip, with the switch button.
(i.e. it is required to do this to to avoid switch activation by the clip.)
It glides on smoothly; and makes a nice *click* sound when it engages...
Then just pull the clip quickly off via the tab to use your eGo!

Like has nothing to do with it.;)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with promotional coupons, some folks expect them everywhere, and all the time. Janty is not one of them places as far as I know, and there is nothing wrong with that.
