Well, if you want to prove that any idiot can use the Janty Ego, I nominate myself. I am clumsy, technically challenged, and possess little to no intelligence. If I can get the Ego to work, and work well, you can be assured that 99.999% of the world's population will also be satisfied customers. And I'm totally honest. (Unless, you don't want that, then I can be easily bribed)

I would do a written review.

If you don't want me, then I nominate Thyestean. Not for the reasons stated above but because we upstate New Yorkers have to stick together.

Haha, that made me laugh =)

Good points!

Mik,
I can't wait for the Baby J. I too did like the usb option and hope to see it on a v2. Either way, unless the Baby J only comes in pink, I will be in line to purchase one.

Now as for the atty cover, I have a Protege and I like the space around the atty connection. It catches any leaked liquid and as I take another drag the 801 sucks the liquid back into the atty. Will the atty cover work the same way?

Hey

But.. uhm.. we.. argh.. *makes note to self that pink is bad idea, must contact factory to avoid.. .*

I know we are toying with doing 4.5 volt for the Baby J - if we do this, or any higher voltage, it will come with USB charging since the battery is implemented into the design.

As for the atomizer cover - no liquid can come out of this thing, unless you unscrew the atomizer itself - i have not leaked one drop of anything on either the eGo or the Baby J !

UPDATE:

The reviewers will now get to keep the eGo for one week - but they have to post an initial part of their review after the first 3 days - and then a followup/closing after a week, before they send it on.

We will now also supply a DURA atomizer with the kit for the reviewers.

/Mik

Cool.

Surprised this didn't get more nominations.

I'm guessing you won't be picking the reviewers until after the other contest ends so you don't pick someone to review it who ends up winning one anyways.

Yup!

Basically i wont pick the reviewers before i have the eGo sets here in my home - and the competition ends before that!

I'd gladly review it for you Mik! As "the guys" [Ethan and Jeff] at Janty USA can attest, I've remained a loyalist to the Stick since it came out and thus stopped reviewing PV's since I reviewed the JS, I'd say I'm a die hard fan.

I really don't think newbie status or people who own cartomizer based PV's would add any special insight as to ease of use. Janty products are never unfriendly user-wise. Anybody who can screw a cartomizer onto a battery can screw a Dura atomizer onto a battery, right? [No, I didn't forget the cartridge ]

Comparing a DSE801 based device like the Janty Stick to the Janty eGo, with it's Dura style atomizer and then preferring the eGo to it would be a strong testament to the eGo, IMHO!

I'll even change my signature if I'm convinced!

The USB option was the thing that got me hooked on the Stick, and what i looked forward for the BabyJ...
But now....

Sure the more powerful battery is an added bonus, but for someone like me who spends more hours on a pc than on the outside world (pathetic, isn't it??), such an option was a lifesaver.

So, with the USB out, i don't see myself purchasing a BabyJ on the near future... Maybe i'll wait for the V2 to arrive...

A passthrough option however would not be a bad idea! That way we can get the best of both worlds...

Well, i do share your passion for USB vaping, however it seems to me that when a battery is 900 mAH or above, and it only takes 1.5-2 hours to charge, that it is less of a hassle ( to me anyways ) to charge one, while using the other - than it is to have to work with a cord all the time. ;)

IMHO that's half-right, Mik. The thing I love about the Stick usb is that if I'm working on my laptop and want to go upstairs I just unplug the stick and take it with me. Similarly when nipping off to shops. I know the battery is full because it was not red when I unplugged it. With a spare battery it's harder - "how much is left in here? Should I swap it out now?" Sounds daft but that's what I find with my Protege. Decisions, decisions.....:)

I do know what you mean, but again the size of the eGo is so small that carrying one extra battery with you is the equivalent of what hmm.. half a ballpoint pen in your pocket - if even that?

To me, id rather do that, instead of having to fumble with cables - but then again i hate clutter on my desk ;)

Each to his / her own!

I do believe the highvolt baby j we hopefully will release early in 2010, will only have a proprietary battery in it ( due to its specific nature ) but will be USB vaping / charging ready, as originally planned, so theres something to look forward to! ;)

- And i might not be the best person to "discuss" this with, cause to me its far more important that i enjoy the looks of my PV than how long it lasts - i will rather have to change a battery, than have to walk around with a less attractive model; Cause i KNOW people will ask "What the heck is that" - and in those situations, which happens often, id like them to see something nice ;)

Ofcourse, the PV i choose has to be solid and good, - its not only about the looks, but you catch my drift i hope =)

What I really like about the usb is that constant "topped off" feeling.

I mean, heck, why have 1/2 a batt left when I can just keep it full most of the time????

And with PC, wall outlet and car lighter plug, I'm never very far away from usb power as I leave them cabled up and ready to just plug in - do it with my Stick all the time.

Well the topped off feeling is just a maintained peak ratio of the battery. I dont have specs right here, but say a 3.7 volt battery as the one in the JS maintains approx 4.2 volt for X amount of time, then it drops down until it reaches 3.6 something and dies, (again, these are NOT correct numbers) so thats why you can feel the "topped up feeling" - however, for the eGo it maintains an even higher voltage ( again dont have numbers, but its higher than the JS ) - and for a longer period of time.

On the prototype i have for instance the second i feel that its lessening in "strength" it usually dies completely a minute after. And during all the time it takes for it to get to that point, it feels completely charged, just as if it was plugged in USB !

I'd like to nominate Hanover Fist. There are a couuple of reasons that I feel he would be great for this...

a) He's been a loyal Janty customer for quite a while now.
b) His review of the Janty Stick was spot on when it first came out.
c) He is responsible for introducing me to e-cigs and Janty in particular.
d) If he ended up with one to test, it would virtually guarantee me a look at it close up and personal!! LOL:p
