Oh, I only had to contact Ethan once when I received my order and one of my auto batteries was missing from the order. turns out he was sick, but got back to me and sent the missing item right out. Whenever I had questions about Janty products, my emails were always answered. I hope all is well and things will get back on track again. The Janty eGo has really stepped things up a bit in the ecig world. And we're still waiting for the Tesla and the Baby J.

Dont get me wrong, I was contacted swiftly by Ethan when I had issues, it just got to the point that something else was failing untill the point I was at 4 batteries and 2 atty's.

He said he was instructed to not cross ship my replacements anymore. Why should I pay because they sold me items that died rapidly... I thought that was not cool, apparently not Ethan's fault, but there is a @$$ ^ somewhere at Janty.

Very true, I am a big fan of the KB atty, it vapes allot differently then any others that I have tried, and when the Baby J comes out, I know that I will buy it, and beg the gods that it works without the issues that have plagued my eGo's

The Tesla filter... we have all watched the video... Tissue please!

OK, I just went back thru the box & the other four carts are normal 510's,still had the wrapper from weird cart. Same manufacture date, etc, as the others. What are the chances of me pulling the only one out of the box? Only I could do that:oops:

So,of course I'm not going to bother Janty for 1 cart, I don't care for RY4 any way. . .But, . . I haven't heard of a 520, Joye or otherwise. Someone mentioned it's a non-Joye product, so how did it get in the box? Is Janty secretly using a back alley supplier? Is Joye making another model under another brand name ? Will Russell find the next hidden immunity idol with out any clues? Will I survive Easter Brunch with the in-laws?:D

Naw,but seriously, would one of you post a link to a 520 or info on them? I'm just curious, I thought I was pretty well versed on the different models. Apparently not.

Anyway, thanks for everyone's input & have a good Easter.

For those having problems with their Sticks, why not first contact the manufacturer or your dealer to see if they will help you get it working right? If they're responsible as most sales companies are, they'll want to help you.

I use 801s and just got my second V3. I'm surprised how much I like it. Its all I'll use in public now. Absolutely no one gives it a second look and it fits great in any pocket.

Why not do both? Why not contact the retailer/manufacturer and point out any pitfalls to potential purchasers?

Mine is working right. The design is terribly flawed, but it functions okay.

Hey

First of all let me apologize for not being able to post. Its easter holidays here and i have been touring the country to visit family.

Here are some answers (marked in bold):

mmkeebler:

I originally sent a PM to the OP because I didn't want to seem like I was harping on a product, however, eh.. this seems to be a *very* common issue.

Makes me very sad that people would continue to sell a product with some sort of defect in the manufacturing stage. It's hit or miss, literally.

Go look at this forum, and count how many posts about bad batteries/batches we have, and then think about how many we have sold. It is not a big problem. It is unfortunate but not out of the ordinary im afraid. If these were all assembled by a high tech multi-million dollar machine the error rate would be lower, but they are in fact hand assembled, and we all know humans have a slightly different binary system, where there are three numbers: 0,1 and 2. Where 2 is "I need coffee, maaaan is this day over yet.. hey whats that shiny stuff over there" - which can lead to production failures.

Both of my Tornado(eGo) battery buttons stick. One of them I am afraid to use because the button gets stuck *down*. I am out of warranty with TW. I know this is a Janty thread, however, same product really.

No. You bought a Tornado, you should go talk about your Tornado issues in their forum. This is a Janty forum, and while i will not tell you what the difference is, then there is a difference in Tornado kits and eGo kits. We are the original afterall.. :) - So please refrain from discussing any and all symptoms, behaviour, problems etc that can and would occur with your tornado here; part of what you pay for is support - we have excellent support, TW.. not.. so.. much.

As I said before, if I had known about Janty's warranty being better, I would have ordered from them instead. Also from what I am reading, Janty has been good about taking care of their customers when something is wrong. Again though, why continue to sell something that is so obvious in having a defect?

No, we continue to sell products where we know a certain (low) percentage of them will fail. This is common in any industry. We then do provide a safe warranty that is extended in order to accomodate our clients. Unlike other vendors who say "If it works when you get it, then.. our warranty is gone".

PriestSLC:

I can understand a few duds, but where I had 2 attys go out and 4 batteries, (2 Full kits) and then I am told I have to ship them back, and then wait for replacements after they verify the contents I shipped back after dropping over 200 bucks...

Well, if we imagine that the guy who assembled your kit had a particularly bad day, then its not entirely implausible that he might have made a small batch of eGos that were assembled in a certain.. TGIF way...

I have purchased computers costing in excess of 3k and when I had a issue the company cross shipped me a replacement no questions asked.

Really? Where! Cause ive experienced completely the opposite with almost every computer related issue i have.. :) I guess its a matter of picking a company with a solid customer service rep then :p

I guess I am just use to a higher level of professionalism and customer service...

We try to do our best - and we do stand behind our products, and our support.

I really do not think I got very good customer service, I had issues with the 2 kisssbox's I got from DietSmokes.com, and Parker jumped right on it, expressing me the replacements, throwing in two free atty's as a extra "Hey sorry about that" bonus... Wow Parker is customer service!

Well, you are forgetting the fact that an eGo is a new device. A new device "grows" over time, and learns from what works in the real world. The eGo is such a device, the kissbox is "old" and tested - and therefore has less flaws. Also, it is much easier for any vendor to be generous with an older product, than it is for us, for instance, to be generous with a hot new product that everyone wants, and one that we cant even stock up on cause people buy them too fast, and our factory cant keep up. But we are trying!

...If the product's I receive are in good working order and do not eat them selves shortly after receiving them, my confidence in Janty may be restored, but where I have not even received a response from Ethan nor Mik in this thread to my safety questions, my faith in Janty products is wavering..

As i explained i have been on easter holiday - sorry about that. I do think however that posting something on a forum requires the poster to acknowledge that a few days can pass before we get around to posting it. We are quite busy running the company, supporting the customers that write emails directly to us and so on. Ofcourse we do try our best to keep up with the forum at all times, but sometimes, as now, there is a glitch in the matrix!

My main question that I wanted to know by starting this thread was, is there a safety issue? Has it been addressed? acknowledged? and is the issue being rectified?

It depends on how you look at it. The auto batteries are as all auto batteries a bit tricky. If you leave this assembled, that can ( and probably does ) mean that liquid from your atomizer slowly seeps into the electronics overnight. That could cause a failure. If you drip with your auto, it can also lead to the same problem. If you use one of your "old" favorite atomizers, which has a particularly good hit, that could also cause a failure, seeing as that atomizer might be so worn out that its resistance is causing everything to overheat inside. This is something people often tend to overlook - and if you and your girlfriend both tried this particular atomizer on the same eGo, that could be why they both died shortly after each other.

So as you can see there are many variables in this. Im not saying this IS your fault, im just saying that we dont know who is to blame yet - and we always have to keep the calm perspective in matters as these. As of right now we have gotten "complaints" about auto batts and manual batts dying, but in comparison to our total sales numbers, this is nothing to even worry slightly about.

I myself have around 10 eGo kits at home for testing and i do make sure to test them real good, - switch between them, use them for several days straight, leave them assembled, drop them, get them wet, and so on - i do all the things i shouldnt do, and not ONE battery has died since i got these in what .. early january. And these are from different batches. So yes, you have been unlucky and i do hope that you and Ethan work out the issues so you can get back to a happy vaping experience, but as of right now this is not a major issue. Still - i would like to say that I AM paying attention, and i am examining this, and other posts with the factory.

I hope this post helps a bit, and again im sorry i wasnt stuck to my screen all weekend. Actually.. thats a lie.. cause, we had lamb. And.. i like lamb. :D

During my wait for replacement I have been using my Kissbox Extended, and my original 901 that has been alive and kicking for the last 6 months, I replaced all of these devices with my eGo and became very reliant on it.

Naturally I became very upset when 4 batteries and 2 dura/eGo atty's went defective.

I'm sorry, but really? I don't mean to sound rude, but do you really expect us to believe that they're different products? They're both manufactured by Joye. If there's actually a physical difference between the two devices, I'm sure many of us would love to hear what they are.

The failure rate with these seems to be higher than many other devices. Could be because we're only seeing the negative comments while the happy users are keeping quiet because they have nothing bad to say... but it's a little weak blaming the defects and malfunctions on a 'bad case of the Mondays'. QC is severely lacking, and someone should step up and get Joye to be accountable for the seemingly high failure rate. No?

Why should it be obvious? It doesn't mention on any of their sites that it's not suitable for adapters. How is it obvious? It was in my first batch of purchases e-cig-wise. I have no idea how you think it should have been obvious. Unless you've spent months here on ECF, which not all buyers have, if it's not on the website, it's not obvious.

And for you information, it actually works quite well with the 901, have you tried it? My beef is you cannot get the atty out of the adapter. I said it worked okay. Doesn't work so well with the 510.

One does not need to spend a lot of time on any forums. It's sufficient to look at the photos and wonder "How the heck am I going to get those adapters and other atties in there, and out again?". It's at least what I thought when I first saw those and considered adapters and stuff. I don't require sellers to tell me about every possible way to use their stuff. Not with vaping, not with anything else. Any use other than what it's made for is my responsiblity to investigate.

And I believe you it vapes fine with a 901, I have no reason at all to think it doesn't. What makes you think otherwise?

But srsly?... :D

Yes, there are differences - and no, i will not explain what they are. We are a business and while we do allow for rebrands, this does not necessarily mean that we will give all our little secrets away, now does it?

The failure rate of these ? You dont know the failure rate - and while i do not mean to sound harsh on this, then you still have to realise that if we sell for example 30.000 eGo sets and we then get say 80 complaints on batteries dying, and stuff like in this thread then thats a failure rate of 3.75%

Now of those 3.75% we have to figure out what of those failures were caused by the consumer and not by the factory, so the actual number is even lower.

So i hope you see what im saying - its not about "blaming" anyone for me, its just the way it is. The eGos are assembled by hand ( like most e-cigs are btw ) and humans make mistakes. Our failure rate at the moment is well below 5% which is quite acceptable - but ofcourse we would rather have zero failures, - and we do take every thread about failures seriously.

I don't think all happy uses are quietly sitting back out there. The eGo has been all over the threads and praised repeatedly. In fact, it is an incredible step forward in proprietary ecigs that is changing the vaping community. This is well written about and easily visible throughout review sites and forums.

I for one have ordered several kits and extra batteries since they came out and I have been thrilled with these. I use the eGo DAILY...home and out. It's classy-ness and size lend beautifully to public vaping, perfect kit to recommend to newbies, innovative cone atty cover that delivers consistent warm, flavorful vapor, outstanding battery life...etc. These are all the things we wanted and asked for from our ecig manufactures...and Janty delivered in a reasonably priced proprietary kit. Thank you Janty!

I'm hearing about some battery issues. In comparison to the high praise, I believe the ratio of problems to praise is small. (Look at stock. People seem to be purchasing faster than stock can keep up). And many suppliers seem to be offering eGo versions now. Imitation is the highest form of compliment! I'm confident in Janty to not only address the issues, but improve upon the batteries and continue to offer innovative products.

I'm not affiliated with Janty in any way, other than the impression the Ego has made upon me. It is out of that impression that I write these statements. There is so much here in this one product that I believe Janty deserves this level of respect.

I also don't see why Janty should be responsible for those Joye products that are not Janty

Janty is responsible for Janty. It's Joye who's responsible for Joye, and that other company is responsible for their stuff.
Now, if one company (or more) find out that there is a general problem with a supplier, of course they are responsible to take up the issue with them. (And if they don't, I'd get annoyed as well. Like with a certain issue about burned filling.)
But that still does not make Janty responsible for either Joye or that other companies quality control, or what passes for quality control there.

Actually it is a well known fact that happy people do not post as often as unhappy people. So this means that even though there has been massive praise to the eGo, then there still should be ( according to the general rule of thumb on that area ) a ton more praise out there - ie. we have only heard the tip of the iceberg so to speak.

Where as the "rule" for negative comments, is just about spot on - those that have problems, post. Period. :)

And im glad you like it - it has been really nice for me to see so many people receiving the product and taken it to them, in the exact way i designed it; alot of good things in a small classy package! ;)

Hey

Here are some basic rules we want people to go by when posting in here, and we hope you find them acceptable;

  • Do not post links to other vendors
  • Do not post videos from other vendors/businesses that are not Janty related
  • Do not refer to other vendors, as in coupon codes, bargains, deals (unless it is Janty related)
  • This is a Janty forum, keep things Janty related. We dont mind discussions about various products - but keep in mind that there is a thin line between advertising and discussing, and we would rather you "police" yourself when it comes to this, than that we have to; But we will if it goes too far
  • You are free to leave positive AND negative comments about Janty products - but keep stuff constructive
  • You are welcome to share your bad experiences with other businesses/vendors - but we do NOT allow positive advertising for obvious reasons. We do know that others exist, but we see no reason for this forum to advertise any of them :) As i am sure they do not want us to be advertised on theirs. :) - and this is not ment as an encouragement to go freak-a-zoid on other vendors. But we do believe in word-of-mouth, and we dont see why you should not be allowed to share your bad experiences with our customers, seeing as most of you do also shop in different places.
  • If you have bougth at Janty knockoff, copy, or in any other way a product that is not made BY Janty but has been rebranded in any kind of way, this forum is NOT usable as support for you. We support Janty customers only!
  • This is an international forum, - please use english all the time
