Hyuuu MAN Sp Eek.... To reiterate my words so that non-primates can understand.

Placing cotton under the wick will make the vape sweeter, lower the throat hit, and reduce the natural earthy base (non-sweet) aspects of your juice.

Example. You just bought a cinnabon... but you are only allowed to eat the frosted top-half. No cinnamon stick spice for you!

In Soviet Russia, E-cig vapes YOU!

I don't know why, but as I read this it's as though Bill Cosby is saying it. Monkey, can you repost this and substitute jello pudding pops for cinnabon?:D

J/K...I get what you are saying, monkey bro.

Hahaha! That's my cousin! He loves the jell-o pudding pops!

Made this feller earlier. It compliments my sweater!

Twisted 26n 17ga ID @ roughly .5ohm. Not pretty, but flavor is quite nice on little 1-2 second toots.

Hey guys,
I get my Reo this Monday and have a few questions for my build.
I'm looking for a warmer vape.
A nice balance of flavor, clouds and throat hit and an all around sweeter taste.
What are my options?
Thanks TIA!
Next stop, REOville.
Get an RM2 and start with a single micro coil .6 to .8 Ohms (ie. 28g Kanthal 8-9 wraps 1/16" ID) cotton ball wick) AW IMR 1600mah batt.
Simple but oh so good… the RM2 has a nice small chamber that warms and sweetens the vapor.

When the kit comes out, you'll want to get it
Meter your build to make sure its not shorted or too low resistance.
You asked.
Look at the earlier stages of this thread and see how the micro coil is wicked right etc.

Ive been using a 1.5 Ohm microcoil in my rm2 as my daily vape since I got it a couple weeks ago. I've been using sterile rolled cotton from cvs and its been OK, but I was looking for more. I snagged a length organic cotton butchers twine from work last night and thought I'd try that in favor of the rolled cotton and the vapor from the butchers twine (on my build at least) is much thicker and a much fuller vape. Not sure why that is, but I think I'm going to stick to the butchers twine!

So.... I was on another thread here talking about wicks etc.comparing cotton to XC 132/116. In the thread trail people were saying they made cotton "bedding" and put it UNDER the coil instead of string thru the coil and have good results. I have been doing 2 setups. My "road" REO has a microcoil with XC132 wick and my "home" mini woody has micro/cotton wick. I like the XC when away as it is indestructable and never have to worry about rewicking on the road and burning out my cotton wick by lack of sqounking etc. Then I have the cotton at home as I like the flavor and vapor it produces and change wick when changing flavors. ANYWAYS... I was fiddling around and decided to try a Hybrid wick! I took a tiny bit of cotton and placed it UNDER my XC132 wick/microcoil. Just off to the side of the drain hole and under and along the coil. not alot of cotton just enough so it cradles the coil. I gave it a good squonl to soak both the cotton and XC, let drain and vaped. Well, I definately noticed a difference! Can't quite explain it but the vape takes a little longer to to start pluming clouds but when it does it's very thick, smooth, and flavorful. I found I had to take longer drags but the taste, warmth, and smoothness was very good! Seems like the best of both worlds, absorbant wicking material of cotton and indestructablility of XC. I found it was easier to keep the cotton wet as well as to not burn up like inside the coil.
So, just wanted to share. Not saying it will knock your socks off but it was a fun experiment.

i like xc for sleeving my genesis wire rope wicks; its the best.

but how do you fit the wick in the RM2 micro coil with xc?

I slip in a thin syringe needle inside the XC, ( or paper clip) needle size (small enough as to NOT stretch the XC) to keep it stable then just wind a tight micro coil as normal like you would using a drillbit. When done mounting and adjusting on the RM2 just slip out the needle and the XC stays. trim off excess. I only use a little less than 1/2" of XC. You need not worry about rewicking and trying to slip in new XC as I just keep clean by dry burning then replacing coil & wick about once every few weeks.

awesome… yeah that's right. lol.
i've wracked my brain in the past on how to wrap a micro around twik but that has cotton core; still i guess you could needle it too.

lately i got a bunch of hemp fiber and it is much more sturdy than cotton.

xc is most stable and dry burnable…

I am trying to get rid of this 'sweet' taste. Vaping strawberry banana cream on my 28 gage nichrome 9 wrap micro coil with a small amount of CVS sterile rolled cotton.
This flavor tastes amazing on my cartomizer. And now it tastes to sweet with a chemical like vape.
Any tips?

Flavor is really muted using a cartomizer. With the Rm2 you're gonna get the true flavor of the juice. In general, any juice that has strong flavor in a cartomizer is gonna be too strong to drip (IMO). I would try to cut it with vg to smooth it out a little. It will however, reduce the nicotine level slightly depending on how much you add to it. If you don't wanna decrease the nic content, you could mix up (or buy) some unflavored nic base in your nic strength and add 'til it tastes right to you.
