Nice work Kyle. It ain't the easiest micro variant to construct is it? But it's not so hard that I won't make another either. I actually already did, with 1 less big end wrap. Ima put it on my woody one of these days :)

I used the end of my micro-scissors... haha! Thats why it looks so janky.

I built another coil at lunch today.

This one metered out at .9ohm on 28g kanthal and 1/16 ID. Again, the vapor is there, but the flavor is still lacking. It just tastes very sweet. I'm getting none of the tobacco flavor I'm used to on my 306's. Should I try wrapping a longer coil to go for higher ohms? Or, is it just not possible to get the same performance out of the RM2 that you get with a 306? Should I try silica? Somebody please help!!! I'm not giving up on the RM2!

Nice looking coil!

You can try enlarging the air hole a little for some flavor increase. After someone on this thread said how soft the metal on the cap is, I just used a nail tip to bore it out a touch on both sides.

Also I'd experiment with different cotton densities.

If you look at my posts in this thread, you'll see that I'm one of the few people who share your disappointment in rm2 flavor so while I'm giving you some tips, I'm equally hoping you get it worked out so I can learn from you.

mrwilliams2, I do my tobaccos in Cyclone attys. The smaller chamber seems to keep the vapor more concentrated and warmer like a 306(but better). The RM2 is on my Murdock box, you can get a ton of flavor from his juices without a battery! They are actually too strong for me with a small chamber and airhole. Try a normal micro but get it out as close to the airhole as you can, then adjust height up/down and I bet you can dial it in. What tobacco juice are you vaping? Is that rolled cotton or cotton ball? Have you tried other wick materials?

240B. Med coverage but i got to blow about 300 rounds. Totally gave me a semi. Not asuch as the MK19, but still awesome.

Nice, we brought a couple of 50 Cals and 240s with us to the field. My 1SG in his infinite wisdom decided it would be a good idea to blow 3k worth of blanks through 2 50 Cals.... We are still not finished cleaning them haha.

Thanks everyone! All who have responded help immensely! I was building again while everyone was posting suggestions. I didn't widen the airhole as I've read in countless other threads that doing so will reduce the flavor, not improve it. I built another micro coil (well a few more actually, as everyone kept popping in with new ideas) and what I ended with is below. It still tastes of cotton at the moment, but I'm going to make myself use it at least until tomorrow before rebuilding to see if its better. Unloaded, I moved the coil as close to the airhole as I was comfortable with. I have the coil sitting perfectly centered and just higher than the airhole at the moment. I will try moving it up and down throughout the night.

Well, how's it vape? I noticed that the cotton takes a sharp turn, so if you're seeing ti not put out enough , try fiddling a tad and lessening the bend into the coil... I dunno if that'd matter on an RM2, but in a regular dripper, it can.....

Yea, I don't bend my wicks that sharp either, I tuck them on the outsides of the posts. The longer legs will add some resistance you might go one or two wraps less to get same resistance as before. The piece of wire coming through the hole, is it on top of your coil? If so I'd for sure raise the coil a bit.

Set up the mini with a 1.1ohm 16ga ID Rene coil.

Using it to get my first taste of the touted Boba's Bounty courtesy of Statistic. Thanks brother!

Interesting flavor. Reminds me of a hickory style flavor that I ordered from Johnson Creek back in about 2008ish... But better. I very well may need to secure a large bottle of this and make my mini the Boba-box.

You mentioned using 306s and getting good flavor. I believe the lowest ohm 306 is 1.5 ohm. You are building .9 ohm coils. I would imagine this would greatly change the flavor. Have your tried building a 1.5 ohm coil and see if that works for you? You are hitting the coil with about 75% more wattage now than with the 306. I hope this helps.

I see you've outwitted the beast as far as wrapping that wire goes. :)

Yep. I've started annealing it with a butane torch. very slowly allowing it to cook as I move the torch. Still harder to work with than 26 nichrome, but if you torch it until it has that even blue-black color, it becomes far more forgiving. Any small gaps I have in the end can usually be closed with a slight inward bend to the legs.

Stuff is too picky and expensive to be trying "art" coils. I am just sticking with the Supe-Standard with this stuff.
