I get mine as tight as I can wrapping it, then mount in the atty. Then I fire it to bright glowing, as soon as I left off the button I squeeze it together with hemostats.

Would it work to squeeze the new coil with the hemostat and while squeezed hit it with the torch? I'm new to this and trying to figger out the best safest way. I'm a bit afraid to fire the coil up on the device and then squeeze, don't want to short it out. Only on my 4th coil to make later today.
OK, will try that later on my old Non-vv when I try next coil when I'm more awake.

Looks really nice! Is it not too hot at 1.4? I found that microcoils feel like much lower resistance normal coils, so I'd imagine this may feel like a sub-ohm coil?
Mine looks similar, but is 2.2 ohm, and I still end up having to take shorter drags to prevent choking and drowning the room in vapor
Thanks. It's pretty easy to wrap after getting good advice here. No, it's not too stout of a vape. Not at all compared to my gennys & Igo-L. I must be doing something wrong tho, cause there's plenty of vapor but I can't seem to get the flavor popping for some reason.
Since coils are pretty quick and easy to make, why don't you try a longer coil? Say, 2 ohm? Just to compare.

Ok, I wrapped another coil @ 2.1 Ohms (lost count of wraps) & the flavor is some better but still not stellar. I'll give this set-up a bit to break in but I think a 1 ohm coil around 2 strands of xc116 has spoiled me.

↑ wowza. just enough room for your wick to poke out before hitting the cap. Very nice. You know, Fog, I never make "flavor" decisions rashly. Meaning, some days aren't as flavorful as others, and I don't assume its my build that's causing it.
Also, and I'm probably stating the obvious, one thing that goes alot further for good flavor is not squonking right after firing; rather waiting til right before you're gonna have a toot. With these RBAs, so much juice goes back into the bottle . . . . . . why cook it?
Holy crap, soon they will have to make larger dia RBAs for Reos to accomodate all your guys' micro train coils!
I have a cheap RBA that I setup with 5 holes inline, maybe a line of multiple smaller holes might work good for long coils like that.
