Hi Guys, I expect a full apology for making me read through this whole thing (I've made it to post ~2000). This is so awesome! I haven't used ANYTHING besides a ST DC carto in a tank on a vamo for the last 13 months. I have not been satisfied in a long time to say the least. Never had a dripper aside from a AVA HR that I hate, never built a coil. I can't believe the handywork of you guys with this stuff. My birthday is coming up next week so I put in an order at FastTech for 2 RBA's, 2 RDA's and a mech telescoping mod.
So............ My order isn't due to ship for several days, and I just couldn't stand waiting after reading this. I went and grabbed an IGO-W and Aga-T2 from a local store this afternoon and got to work. Unfortunately for today, I have some kanthal, ribbon and nichrome on the way, so I was stuck with 32ga that came with the kit.
I got to work with only the parts that came with the kit and some CVS rolled cotton. On the AGA I took out a screw and did a cotton U-wick and the 32ga kanthal. I made an attempt at a 8 wrap micro coil at 1.4mm ID wrapping on a small screw driver. It's settling out at 3.9ohm and working decently on my vamo at 4.5V. The 32ga is pretty springy, I hope I have better luck with 30 and 28ga monday when they arrive. Also with the 1.4 ID, the wick I was able to put through there should be better on a 1.6 or 1.7 ID
I had fun building the IGO-W dual coil. I used the same wire, ID and a 7 wrap on each side. It started out at 1.1ohm so I started kicking it off on an ego and now it's up to 2.7ohm and it's jumping all over the place on the Vamo. Not sure what the trouble is, but it's working decent at 4.5V as well. I'm sure I'll get it figured out before long. I have an Ithaca clone on the way and I can't wait to get it and the Igo-W going on a mech mod about .8ohm dual coil! Thanks for all the posts and pics and vids!
I have some pics, but photobucket is down. I'll throw them up later.
