I was wondering what some of the mod companies i should probably avoid for mods since im new to vaping?
Did a quick research and apperentely smok is hated all over the internet mostly just Reddit,
but whats weird is on vaping channels like Grimmgreen and others smok devices are rated pretty solid by them and not hated at all...
All this hate has been by forums mostly and not vaping youtube videos so who do i believe haha
Makes me wanna avoid smok but this is a hobby of mine now i want to give everything a chance TBH
Maybe its just overrated and smok is just fine

You can find some information on youtube about quality, but to be honest, Phil Busardo had proper reviews where he went into detail, such as measuring voltage drop, thorough TC testing, etc.
Mark Todd is another who stands out when it comes to being thorough in his reviews.
Phil Busardo doesn't do reviews anymore, but Mark does, but preferably high end.

All the others I feel make a superficial presentation.

I think you will find the best reviews here on this forum compared to youtube.

    To quote another member here:

“Smok mods over the last few years are a primarily targeted at specific audience. Flashy lights, garish colors and short attention spans, those who don't care that a mod only lasts 6 months so they can go out and buy another flashier mod with even more LEDs and pointless features. Flakey paint and terrible QC are consequential of their carpet bombing marketing strategy.
It must be a successful business model because they have shifted millions of units.”

Smok mods have a very poor track record. As has been already stated, their quality control is very lame.

There was a time when 1-2 people were starting threads each week about their broken Smok mods.

In every case ECF members suggested they purchase better quality mods.

I wouldn't take a Smok mod for free.

    a fabulous Smok mod exploding...

"Above is the video of the exploding SMOK mod while it was being charged. Internal lipo battery. SMOK mods have a notorious history of major malfunctions over the years. I'll never own another one. Video is from a security cam."

Baditude posted that in one of the many "Smok garbage" threads.

I have heard so much about Smok that I would steer clear of that brand.
Now that most people are so busy sending out as much disposables as possible on the market, it is hoped that the most classic rotten brands will concentrate there.

There are quite a few good brands out there that have improved tremendously, I have Innokin and think it holds up well, Chinese paint is as expected, doesn't take much before it wears out.
GeekVape used to be pretty good, but have gotten a bit boring over the years. GeekVape is going to look like a typical GeekVape.

Is that your video crazy, ok so smok turn around and run gotcha haha,
When i look up grimm green and jai haze reviews of the smok they like them lol then again they probably only use it for a day then switch to new product cause they get review products free...
But for reliability in long run smok is the worst :) ill make sure to never buy a mod from them....
    Tanks are ok?
Cuz i do love the look of Smok TFV 18 tank

Why waste your money on a product that doesn't last?!?
The mod that I'm using today is almost 11 years old, (Caravela) and it still works as well as it did when new.
For me quality mods started out with the Silver Bullet from altsmoke (2009). Then came the ProVari (2010) from ProVape.
And, as you can see, I haven't needed to buy anything newer.
Hell, I even have & use (sometimes) a Mako Midi, (2009) but it only uses a little 14500 battery. But it's still a perfect example of a quality product that will last forever.

It's good that you are doing the research. Now pay attention and don't buy junk.

    Is that your video
No, that is not my video. Another member posted the video in one of the numerous "Help My Smok Mod Broke" threads.

I would never purchase a Smok mod or any of their products.

As @tj99959 mentioned in his post, a quality mech mod will last and last.

    damn.

I was just about to get myself a Morph 2 because that's pretty much the only mod in my local shop right now.

That's the problem. All seasoned vapers know to avoid Smok products, yet, for some reason, it's the only thing the vape shops carry.

Smok has good designs but terrible quality control so imo not a good investment.

    Hmmm? Who to believe?

A handful of people who get Paid in Cash or Free Stuff to Promote an OEM's Products? Or the People who Actually use the Product?
