My MVP is finally dying a slow death. Since importing a new one is impossible due to customs restrictions, I've been thinking about opeining it up, saving the electronics into an Altoids mod and setting it with an 18650. I've seen the MVP dissasembled but I'm wondering if anyone has a link to a dissasembly.

Lately whenever it reaches 3.6 I have to vape it plugged in. I'm seeing the last days of it.

3.6 is when it normally goes red and shuts off anyways.

Am leaving for hospital now - UGH, it's so early...

I think I'm the only nerd that didn't want to leave the hospital. I was in for a heart attack, got two stents, and was SOOOO pampered by all the staff and so comfy I didn't want to leave.

Good luck, and trust everything will be just fine.Programmed interventions are far better than emergencies, they get to have more time to catch it early.

My MVP2 is officially on it's way out. It won't recognize anything 510 threaded and only a few of my Ego tanks. This morning , it refused to recognize the same tank/coil that has been on it for the past week, even though it was working fine last night and nothing had changed. So I figure it's time to replace is. Anyone know where has them for the cheapest price? I'd rather not purchase from ebay. Lowest I can find is World of Vape at $40.95, but I'm sure I've seen them for $35 somewhere/

So... whacha gonna do with the old MVP? I'd be interesting in tearing it down...

:offtopic:

bought a hole saw set from Harbor Freight today and was messing around and made this simple mod holder out of a CD case, holds 2 26650 and 6 22mm Mods.......when i get a little extra cash i'm getting some nice wood from home depot and make a beaut.

I'm copying that! I have hundreds lying around unused! Great idea!

If the MVP3 is too expensive or is super massive, ill prolly switch to the ileaf. That said, I really really hope the MVP3 fixes the issues the 2 has (non-spring-loaded center pin, need a little more wattage for dual coil russian builds, etc). It looks like theyre addressing most of these issues, so Im holding out for Xmas in the hope that the MVP3 becomes available.

I'm getting ready for my shoulder surgery tomorrow. So am cleaning all my gear today as I am left-handed and it's the left shoulder being repaired.

Ohh! That's painful, but surgery makes it much better. My former boyfriend, guitar player, avoided the operation for years, his shoulder getting out of the socket was oh so painful... Better get it done now!!!

I'll do it too in a few days, to save it into an Altoids box with a replaceable 18650. If I can find it, I'll ditch the out circuitry, leaving the on complete.

I meant to say I would be interested in tearing it down. e.g., to see if I could find the issue... but yeah, if I did... I would probably want to rebuild it with more power behind it (more Ah's) if it proved economical or remotely entertaining. I have a bunch of 18650's... so that would be a decent change... at the same time though, I have a number of poly-packs as well.

I loved it, vaped it so much I finally hated it. That was two years ago, I think it's time to try it out again. Here's outrageously expensive, about 35 bucks for a 30ml bottle.

yea i burn a-lot of it i know what you mean, when it get's that way for me i just dab a few drops of Cinnamon to it in the dripper; makes for a great taste :vapor:

It's fluctuating so badly now that I can't use it. I just ordered a new one from 101 vape. Rock Bottom Vapes had a better price but the site seemed sketchy to me, but 101 Vape had nothing but stellar reviews.

The 1.9ohm coil I've been running in it suddenly dropped to non, then when I fixed it (coil had begun to come loose from the base) read back at 1.8. Then I tried firing it, got nothing. Ohm reader clocked it at .7. Took off the tank (mPT2), cleaned out the connectors, screwed it back on: 1.2. Go to fire, back down to .8. I know it's not the coil, it's been running fine for the past week. My other coils aren't working on it either. All of them were fine on it when I built them last week, I used the MVP to check the resistance and it read them all.

Prophet, I've ordered a number of things from Rockbottom, and all has been well. I also ordered an MVP from strictlyecig.com. Got an Energy line for same price as the standard line. Happily vaping with that one right this moment :)

all you'd need is 10 min for the pin fix and ya got a working box again!
yea i wish he's send it to me also.

Yeah, not sure what's wrong with it... luckily, if he *wants* to get rid of it,... there is a classifieds section which should ensure he gets a fair price, or at least whatever the local market will bear.

from what he described i'd be willing to bet cash it's the pin, be a nice back-up to the new one if he fixes it.

......@ Prophet......do yourself a favor and use an adapter this time or do the Pin fix to the new one or the same thing is gonna happen again.

not trying to be disrespectful in any way man, the MVP has a very finiky 510 pin and you never want to crank anything down on it especially a topper with an extended pin.....it pushes the pin down to far and the problems happen......just snug it up and thread the beauty ring upward to act as a locking/safety stop.........hope you fully enjoy your new toy.

here is a pic of the 510 airflow adapter i use i painted it blk it's sitting rite under the topper and the beauty ring is below ...i put this adapter on day one and it's been there every-since....almost 9 months now and never a connection problem....regardless if this is your current problem with your device this is one way to prevent future problems.

Picky pin? You can say that again! Of all my tanks I have one Evod that I have to pull it up every time I use it. My other Evod and PT2/PT2 mini all push it right back down. Go figure both the Evods work on the actual Evod batteries..
