So, why the mint??
I have to fill the mini nauti every two seconds so I don't think it'll be too fussy with the KF mini.
i30 replacement coil head from clonecores
Placed order on Monday holiday with paypal. Received 4 emails on status. Shipped Tuesday, received Friday, MD to rural AZ.
Generic bubble envelope. Plastic bag with individually wrapped coil heads. Single wrapped lifesaver mint. No receipt, handwritten thank you note.
Sold as 2.0Ω first measured 2.0, second 1.9, on MVP and ZMax. Both set at 8 watts, same as with original coils.
Opened package and sniff tested coils. Minty, probably from the mint.
Wicks are like i16. Lower pair are slightly long but didn't seem to get trapped in the lower threads. Layer cake metal housings seem to pinch the wicks as they pass though to the coil. In fact at least one wick was cut a bit. Doesn't seem to effect anything at this point. Plastic cap is flat like Kanger style, not the tube like the original.
Filled with unflavored 25pg/75vg in one and a clear color tobacco flavor in the other then allowed to sit for 10 minutes.
First few puffs were short and blown out assuming a break in needed. First real puffs have a perfume taste. I assume that will go away.
Vapor production was as good as original. Taste on the flavored one was not as good. May need more break in time.
Half a ml gone and the flavored one showed Short!. I guess I'll take it apart and see what happened. Probably crossed legs.
I upped the watts to 10 on the unflavored one and it did not improve, just warmer vapor.
I will eventually put a stock coil with the same flavor in one and test side by side.
At this point I'm meh about the purchase. 10 for $10.99 plus $1.99 shipping, about 1.25 each. Hope the rest are better than 50% fail rate.
If they last for a while, improve in flavor, and I can take it apart and rewick it, I'll be ok with it.
Thank God i went with the full size , can go multiple days without refilling.
Thanks for the honest and excellent review Paul , taste is the #1 thing for me , don't care nearly as much about vapor production. I have tried cloned I30 head's and even though it wasn't from Innokin they still had all the wicks and looked like it , they also had excellent taste which surprised me .
I was very skeptical about Clonecores version and that it did not have nearly as many wicks , i just don't see how they could match in the the flavor department if they lack that wick amount , imo that's the biggest reason why the I30 is so good for flavor .
It's very unfortunate about getting a bad head , if you can limit those maybe they will come around.
Really appreciate your expert opinion though as i know you have tons of experience with that model . I thought i might get a "things are great and easily match the I30 for flavor " type of response and then i buy and find out they are substandard so thanks for being real.
The MT3 has an airier draw I have found. To really use it, I went with 3rd party dual coils. Works great then![]()
Interesting thing for me with a new i30 coil change. Time for a new one so tore it down, installed a new one, filled 'er up... nuthin. Puffin' til my eyeballs bled. Scratching head. Like NO draw. Took the top off, took a close look. Zeroed in on the top silicon cap and with these old eyes seemed to see a "nipple" on the top. Even closer look... it was sealed! I guess the factory threw out one before it was done. A pair of nailclips, snip the top, re-assembled... nirvana once more!
Dual coil huh , yeah i usually stick to singles but maybe i will try 3rd party ones. What about the MT3s , how does it differ from the MT3 ? On another note , i usually drill out the bases on these types to 1/16 .
Ya, sorry.. MT3S.. The MT3 is no longer sold by Kanger. Here's my take: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/567056-dual-coils-t3s-mt3s-maybe.html
Alright question , do people prefer the standard Evod over the MT3 or are they both similar ?
Excellent , thank you . I know Puff and others explained it before but my memory isn't too good apparently . The reason i asked is because of this clearance buy:
Kanger MT3 bottom coil clearomizer
Kanger eVod bottom coil clearomizer
With my first "real" ecig purchase (2 VV egos w/Ce4s) the vendor included a little plastic toy dinasaur. I still have it by my computer. Just a silly thing but it reminds me of my success.
Puf..... These are very serious questions you're asking. As well as being personal !
Did you ever get sand in your ear, really????
Stub my toe, And here laughing, just about every night !!!
Gotta love your humor puff.
And if someone does not..........
It's " NOBODY'S FAULT BUT MINE"
Welcome kristlynngirl
we never really talked of the diff with MT3 / MT3S
the without "S" is extinct
if Im not mistaken
the MT3 was like the big-deal first bcc clearomizer
Kanger made the base AND coil were as one (integrated)
later came the S // MT3S & T3S with the separable coil
somewhere along there also came the EVOD and mini T3S
and as they say: the rest is history

MT3 are closeouts (what they had left in stock)
the EVODs are just on a sale
IMO MT3S and T3S // EVOD and mini T3S
all four the same design just 3.0ml vs 1.5ml
metal jacket // clear plastic

Jandry, I have one kayfun (3.1 ES) that hits like the Nauti.... The $17 sale is still in effect today, and on the business card I received, 5% discount: code SepFive14edit: Rock Bottom Vapes)
So far, the BDC (I'm currently using the 1.6Ω coil) is amazing.....
