I am with you on the i30. I've just never gotten the hang of it, but there are gobs of folks out here who swear by them. Give me a simple EVOD (with my own coil and wick of course!) and I'm a happy camper. I figure over the weekend, I'll play with my kayfuns to see what trouble I can get myself into (might even try that vertical coil build that folks are talking about.) Since I'm not doing anything crazy with ohms, the MVP is a monster for me.... Gotta love it, even if finding the right topper becomes a new quest ;)

My first iclear 30 that came with the MVP was heaven on earth. I PIFed it to my vet, and several months later I bought another one. Didn't work, all I got was one dry hit after another. I don't understand, maybe the second one is a knockoff.

Question, since I already have two full size Nautis, would a mini be worth buying?

Buy the BVC heads directly, they fit into the regular nautilus

I keep mini versions of all my tanks to use on ego batteries to go out. As soon as I know I like how it vapes I buy the mini version.

My new Magma arrived today. Built it with a 1.8Ω single coil, wicked with KGD. Cracked open my new bottle (10 days steeping) of Ahlusion Cherry Wild Wood. New flavor for me, but I love the other Wild Woods. OMG!! The flavor this thing delivers about knocked my socks off, and I am not wearing any socks!!!!! Gonna take time to learn how to hit off this thing, made myself cough that first hit and I am only at 7.5 watts. But I am a very fast learner, so no worries. Playing with air flow control and such, this thing is a force of nature!! Now I can't wait to try other flavors in this. Darn, I'm gonna get spoiled!

I normally travel too much for this to be practical when working, but at home (or in a motel), man, this thing is awesome!

@herb I am going to order some of those clone coils for the i30.

I have rewicked an i30 with rayon. Worked real good until I tried it again. They use such a thin wire to get the 4.4 ohms that it either didn't like another dry burn or the rewick broke one of the coils. I rebuilt one with a single coil but it was too much work. Better to try those $1 coils.

You all sure post a lot while I am at work.

Ha ha , awesome Clnire, i had the same experience , i was dumbfounded (and thats easy for me) , i can't believe how good it is , when people say it's the best for flavor their not kidding .

I found the key to be making sure BOTH air holes are open not just one which can be overlooked . Enjoy

If you want a smaller profile , i think they will perform the same with the BVC's.

Excellent Paul , i wish you didn't have to buy a 10 pack just in case they didn't make the grade , if their really good i'm definitely buying them . I will be surprised if they do work well , i just don't see how you can eliminate that many wicks and have it be as good.

......@clnire, i also use single coils on my Magma's........i use the dual airflow option instead of the single cause i like more air......taste is awesome and you will be spoiled from here on out; so get used to it :)

Yup , what i have been doing is building just one LARGE diameter coil , typically 1/8 or larger so it's cake to rewick and delivers huge flavor.

Is rayon made of plastic?
Is it safe to vape with rayon?
I thought rayon was the stuff that when you heated it, it melted and stuck to your skin if you got some.
Maybe that's nylon...
Just trying to ask questions about the safety of rayon.
Please dont say this. I dont want to think about whether Rayon is safe, nor do I want to remember its manufacturing process and all the chemicals used.

I dont want to because it is hands down AWESOME as a wicking material. But I hear you. Im still unsure whether I will buy more after my sample runs out. I was hoping it would be so-so and so Id have a clear path just using organic cotton, but of course it completely rocks as a wick.

There is a thread on this forum about Rayon. Many people have gone to great lengths to determine whether its safe. The general consensus is that it is- its basically man-made cotton. The reason its better than cotton is because rayon is literally strands, where cotton goes every which way. Cotton is better at holding juice, but it doesnt wick as quickly and it doesnt let go of liquid as fast. As a result Rayon can be run with higher wattages (due to more liquid being released, hence more vape, quicker coil warm-up, etc) and is better at chain vaping, it offers no break-in period, it lasts 3 times longer. The manufacturing chemicals that people dont like are washed away from it after its made.

Could trace amounts still be there? I dont know. Are they harmful when burned? I dont know. Would rayon even burn at all as long as the wick is wet? I doubt it. Would the chemicals in the rayon be absorbed by the liquid and then vaporized? I dont know.

It scares me. Makes me want to change out my Rayon wick for cotton right now actually. The local vape store looked at me like I was insane when I mentioned rayon. But damn.. the stuff works soooooo good. I feel like its turned my Kayfun/MVP into a DNA30/dripper, though I know thats an exaggeration.

**EDIT** Rayon really really excels with high VG ejuice. Im currently using the MVP2 at 10.5 watts (!) rayon wick with a 30gauge coil 8 wraps 1.8 ohms (16 guage luer blunt needle) on the Russian 91% with Mother's Milk loaded up.. awesome combo

For a TON of info on this, see: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rebuildable-atomizer-systems/561226-rayon-wick-better-flow-flavor-saturation-nic-hit.html

Just FYI, I decided not to post pics of my chimney build on the Russian. It SUCKED! It may be because I used Rayon, but I kept getting little droplets of juice in my mouth even running at 11 watts, and I didnt get as much vapor. The coil was perfect, so maybe next time ill try with cotton.

For now im going to kick back on a horizontal build which vapes great...

Yup , tons of info about Rayon safety , i'm not worried about it after reading all the information about it. When ECF posted info about the possible dangers of high wattage vaping it got my attention, nothing proven either way but i stay pretty low wattage anyway , even with the Magma .

I was surprised that the MVP set at 10 or 11 watts with a 30 or 32 gauge coil will light up plenty fast enough to get a very satisfactory vape with the Magma . Stick to single coil no larger than 3/32 though. Granted a DNA 30 type device is more appropriate for dripper's but it's not a must .
