I would totally like to make one of these, but I'm not very handy with tools and would need a detailed how-to. :( I'll keep checking back to see if there are any more instructions and pics.

Also, how does the liquid from the bottle pump up to the atty? I assume you have to press the bottle through the case with your finger or something?

Thank you very much Clumsy and nebulizer. :)

Is it hot in here or is it me...A lady that can mod like that...where have you been all my life?:wub: Hey Dreamy...do you do front end alignments too...mine has been pullin hard lately?:D

Nicotime! Yes, I do my own auto work when the mood arises. I actually have considered a few front end alignments. I don't use the same method of melting and grinding that I do on my box though....... no...... I find that with front end alignments it is best to take a ball peen hammer and just give it a good whack :shock:, whack :shock: to keep it on the straight and narrow path.

:D.... ;)

Hi ELLL-RIiii-Ha-Ha-high--ahhh.... (hope I pronounced your name right?..... :lol:)....... detailed pics are what I was working on today, I swear! I'd really like to see a lot of people have this available to them. The unit is just that good, honestly. However... it can be done in a much simpler fashion. The horn switch being on the corner is what is the most time consuming. I think it is the best location though. However... it is not necessary to be there. Things like that can be ignored when I do the how-to and worked around.

I am fortunate to already have the tools I have. I use a dremel rotary tool with grinding attachments, stencil burner, small files, soldering iron and airbrush.

The juice is fed to the atomizer by squeezing the bottle ( I use my thumb) ... watching it flow up through the clear tubing and drips onto the atomizer. Flooding is possible and it takes some learning... that's why I use such small tubing on the top. Thanks for the question and reminding me.... I need to do an explanatory pic or something. I really haven't explained this unit much in this thread and I need to.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I made another Nico-Drip V2 today and took pictures as I was doing it so I can make a precise how-to. I also decided to use the 3ml dropper tip as the tube feed through the top of the box.
droptopexp.jpg
Put a little JB weld over top of it, paint and gloss it..... it should be good!? Of course.... you could just run tubing straight through the box also. But I thought this would be a good experiment and example of possibilities.
I've decided to just take pics as I do this one and everyone can see the process for themselves. I will add text to them and stick them up as I get to them. Got regular chores to do, a full-time job and critters to love that all beckon also. :wub:
I may also be getting broadband finally.... if I can just get the NIC card in my PC working.... which will make uploading pictures much faster. Takes forever as it is on this slow dial-up.
My steering wheel is fine where it is.
Less accidents if it's on the right.
Dreamy.
Thats a great photographic tutorial.
And I love the way you used the 3ml dropper bottle top as a tubing connector.
It was inspired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hereby admit that I will definitely steel that idea.
Work hard. Mod harder.
Hi,
I don't post much but been a lurking for about a year now. Thought I'd post some helpful links on where I get some of my modding materials. Hope this helps.
tubing couplers:
TowerHobbies.com | Robart 216 L Tubing Coupler 1/16" (4)
TowerHobbies.com | Robart Aluminum Air Line Restrictor (4)
TowerHobbies.com | Robart 217 Straight Tubing Coupler 1/16" (4)
They also have plastic/silicone and tygon tubing they sell in small quantities.
Just search for fuel tubing and a good listing shows up.
They also carry aluminium and brass tubings and sheets/rods.
loads of good stuff and shipping is reasonable.
Some one posted this site (don't remember who), it's been my main resource for modding.
Hope this helps.
HobbyTown USA also carries these items (as probably do most GOOD hobby/RC shops). For the impatient (like me) it might be easier to buy locally TODAY than wait for shipping. Prices at my local store (HUB Hobby) is fairly comparable to online sources (plus browsing aisles and aisles leads to all sorts of great finds!)
If I had a local model shop with aisles and aisles
my wife would never see me again.
And could someone PLEASE tell me how
to pronounce the word "mahmba"
Play hard, Mod Harder
Peter................
First time I went there they literally had to ask me to leave! Course I should walked in more than an hour before closing time! Second time I went, I spent over 2 hours and since then I average ~1 hour per trip. There's just so much to see and all sorts of stuff to think about repurposing! Heck, they have 2 aisles just for spray paint for model cars/planes/boats (something like 8 aisles for the actual models - plus ~6 for "parts", and then there's the whole back third of the store that is all trains stuff! And did I mention the 8 aisles of games and science stuff like rockets and microscopes and.....)
mAhmba - In my head I pronouce it like the snake (Mamba) - try Mom+ba (what do baby sheep scream when they have a nightmare?
Mom Baaaaa!).
Watch Tinears videos and you can just copy how he's says it. Though you may have to lose your silly accent! :p
Yeah, I pronounce it Mom-Baa...... I almost, as a joke, was going to call a model of mine a "Mom Ba"........ the version of a baby bottle but for the Moms that no longer smoke so they are healthier for raising their babies healthy. :thumb:
And if Tinear (creator of THE Mahmba) said anything..... I would just play stupid... :rolleyes:....... :D
Will someone please whack Mastiff for me.......... I no longer live where I can easily get to any kind of hobby shop either.:(
Now that makes two people I've had to whack :shock: in this thread so far!
For those that may not know... I did the how-to in pictures like this with the instructions on the pics so that it makes them easy to save the whole thing. Just create a folder in your PC... right click on each picture.... save the picture to that folder and you should eventually end up with the whole "how-to". Pictures and instructions!
And for anyone that is new to modding who may be waiting for the punch in the gut over how to wire it..... who may be thinking, "oh yeah, well wait until the wiring schematic shows up and discombobulates me".....
How about this for a wiring diagram?
Nico-Drip V2 Wiring
nico-dripv2wiring.jpg
The red lines are the red wire and black is the black wire. The wire you will use already comes with the 3 "AA" Battery Box.
I will probably not do the wiring until next week when I get my nights off again. That gives anyone (including me) time to play with molding and shaping the box. (I'm also working on two other Mods as I do this how-to) :|
Keep in mind that the 3ml dropper bottle tip that I am experimenting with in this one is experimental. We are not yet sure if it will work without actually sealing it together with the aquarium tubing. I will test it with some PG and see. I know it does not leak from the bottle end because that is what I use in my Nico-Drip now. But that other end.... ?.... will test and let ya know.
If it does leak as-is... I may pull it out and use something else and show how easily these boxes can be "re-modded". Their great! And anyone wanting to use sealant can if they want.,, or just use some kind of tubing straight through the box to the cart.
The Nico-Drip V2 in this thread does not need any kind of sealant. It has never leaked.
Thank you for the links guys! Will have to research more on tubing and connectors when I get the time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Stormi, See why I was going to post the "Manipu-Mod" without tubing and connectors? I have no answers and no time to find them right now. :(
Was going to post the "Manipu-Mod" (i.e. A Nico-Drip V1 without juice injection) how-to and then maybe have help in locating tiny tubing and brass connectors. Anyhow... that little purple Manipu-Mod now has tubing and connectors but just needs put together.... oh, and reglossed from where the puppy chewed it one night thinking it was a squeaky-toy!)

And where's your bottom-fed juice picture thread, Stormi? Oh.... and with a "how-to"?!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EDIT TO ADD:
Anyone ordering an LED from MadVapes has no need to worry about finding a resistor for it..... he usually includes one with any LED.
This wiring diagram is for hooking up the LED so that it is always on as long as the main On/Off switch is in the "on" position.
Of course, I live close to a great store but am LAZY and you (and others) who aren't lazy have to mail-order!
Great pics BTW! If I ever get unlazy I may build one! (Really I'm just waiting for the day that a modder finds themselves with too many mods piled up and rather than go through the hassle of selling them, decides to give one to the poster with the longest tongue!) :D
LoL @ Mastiff! I think my brother and I may reach that point actually!Frightening around here sometimes with all the modding going on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here are some more steps:

Any questions..... please ask! Don't just be a lurker trying to figure something out like I used to be. (been there, done that) Yeah... i know what you're doing! ;)

STEP 5
5-Nico-DripV2.jpg

STEP 6 ----- Not really a necessary step for others! LoL!

6-Nico-DripV2.jpg

STEP 7

7-Nico-DripV2.jpg

STEP 8

8-Nico-DripV2.jpg

Uh-oh....... I see we've now gotten to "installing the switch" part...... hmm..... well.... this may take a week to do so the wait for how-to of the wiring-up of the box may be needed. LoL!

Remember... you could always just put it on the side and not the corner.

This mod requires patience!

EDIT TO ADD:
The reason I put the switch on the corner is because I had it on the side.... used it for a week.... and realized it would be much more comfortable for me if I had it on the corner and angled up a bit.

So, I re-modded the original unit and re-orientated the switch.

Depending on the direction it is held... I use my index finger or thumb pad to activate the switch....... and being in the corner made it perfect!

OK, Dream, I've got a GREAT idea.....

I've got a couple of designs drawn up but am too lazy (and fingerly challenged!) to build them. How about you build them and then, to save you from having a cluttered workspace/house, you send them to me?!?!? Waaaa Huh? What do you mean that doesn't sound like a good deal? I'm giving you fun projects to work on without having to deal with what to do with the units once built! And before you ask, NO you would not have to pay me for this! I'd be willing to take the units free of charge! :p
