Im having so much fun reading this I dont even want to correct everyone...Ohms law reads E over I,R...E being Voltage measured in VOLTAGE, I being amperage measured in AMPS, and R being resistance measured in OHMS... All of these are proportional to one another at ALL times during the batteries, atomisers and connections lives...Volts are inversly proportional to amps and ohms...In other words when the volts decrease the amps increase and visa versa... When an atomizer is corroted or failing everything changes...I will say that most of the theories throughout this thread are only partially true...Mah and Ma are also proportional to performance and will vary the performance TREMENDOUSLY...The Chinese are givin much less credit than deserve for their mod, which in terms of performance and design are still way ahead of us...But to the oOP I respectably chalenge you to make my first 801 perform like it does on my mods...(No Flame or wiseassed comment) Cause if I could make my 801 atty work like it does at 3.7 1500 Mah Iwouldnt be doing all this work!!!!!

I accept the challenge if you have a normally working 801 battery ;)

It is clear for all of us that have read the rants of people like Cashmere and Zofryer here, that there is an agenda for manufacturers and their .....es. (yes i also know many bad ugly words)

As far as I am concerned, i choose to ignore any posts in this thread coming form both.
It is really sad that you have to resort to such stupid tactics to try and make some facts disappear, but they will not. I never argued about the prodigy being made from scratch or not, i really couldn't care less, the point is you have to do this when it comes to "defend" you money making machine. Sad...very sad.

If my thread made you believe i was attacking your "creation", you are wrong. Because of what you just did here, you might have to give a lot of explanations to many customers (not me included).

And as i said before, you chose the wrong person to mess with,
I don't have a hidden agenda and I don't sell anything here plus i don't take bull**** from no one, you are very stupid to think you could get away so easy with this.

Go argue with yourself on your clone of my thread out there.

Now learn the lesson and walk away with the tail between your legs.

Ummmm, Warp, did you just call me a name because I stuck up for the Prodigy?:?:

Zo is neither a manufacturer or ..... ... The guy has made TONS of mods, so even bringing him in to this post is simply wrong ... If you feel I have an agenda, find it, because you never will. Your agenda was clear however .... You made a mod, and trashed another (ie: the screwdriver) If it wasn't for the SD or the Modders of this forum, you would still be at square 1 ... a chinese PV ...

As far as I am concerned, i choose to ignore any posts in this thread coming form both.

What facts are disappearing warp ... people are free to read this thread in its entirety for facts. My argument over the Prodigy being built from scratch is not a gripe I had with you, rather, it was with ridewithme who decided to start throwing punches ...

If my thread made you believe i was attacking your "creation", you are wrong. Because of what you just did here, you might have to give a lot of explanations to many customers (not me included).

I never felt like you were attacking me or my product personally warp ... BUT, you did attack a Product and a respected reviewer on these boards warp ... Trog and I don't necessarily get along, but I will still defend the SD for what it is ... and amazing and pioneering vaping device ... And I'm not entirely sure what explanation I would have to give out?

And as i said before, you chose the wrong person to mess with,

What exact lesson am I learning? Not to allow people to walk all over certain products and respected forum members ??? Lesson learned, and I will continue to do so ...

Looks like ECF found a replacement for all the moronic crap I used to say.

Welcome to the party warp but your several months late and everything you are saying I already said a long time ago. Really, the only difference between us is that I was able to learn from others and realize that many of the things I used to say were wrong.

See you on the dark side when you earn a boot over here.

For the record ********,

I own the Prodigy. I own the Copper. I own the Super-T, I make my own mods. I make my own juice. I try to spend a little money with every supplier here because I'm actually trying to SUPPORT THIS COMMUNITY. And I'm dead honest what I feel the quality is of the items I've purchased or used, and I'm highly vocal about their shortcomings. I don't needlessly blast anything without offering a solution at the same time. So you and ***** ridewithme can take your anti-profit, anti-quality, communist anti-enterprise manifesto and have-not jealously and ***************.

Did I stutter?

EDIT: And for the record I do think your RCA connector jack mod is pretty badass. Just having fun being angry guy right now. : )

I am not that wise when it comes to electronic / electric subjects, but as far as i can tell, yes it does play a role, even though, as i mention on the myths and facts, the batteries that modders are limited to, have basically same electric characteristics so the results should be the same.

Passthroughs, wall warts, portable power supplies, etc, are a completely different subject.

I'm not very good at the electric stuff either Warped, thats why I keep my mouth shut when I don't know what I'm talking about. Just a little hint for your future posts.

LOLOL .... I SO KNEW DW WAS GOING TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE !!!!!!!!

I still don't agree with the SD being junk and Trog being a Devil .... The SD was a Pioneer PV (pricing and flashlight mod aside), and Trog is simply in ... a world of his own ....

Back to the darkside for me as well .... I have a feeling DW misses me ;) Warp feel free to come over ... its fun :D

I will make this simple:

If I vape a regular DSE901 and then vape a Screwdriver with a 901 atomizer, the throat hit and vapor is MUCH better, stronger and consistent from one inhale to the next with the Screwdriver.

If I vape a regular DSE801 and then vape a Prodigy with an 801 atomizer, the throat hit and vapor is MUCH better, stronger and consistent from one inhale to the next with the Prodigy.

And this is not just my subjective opinion. It is the opinion of the vast majority (at least hundreds, if not more) of those you have done this type of comparison. I personally don't care why that is but know it to be a FACT.

I think by starting this thread the OP did nothing but confuse people, especially newbies who could walk away from this and think the Blu or SmokeEverywhere PV delivers the same performance as the Screwdriver or the Prodigy. Why would you want to give that completely false impression????

with the SD what you claim is not accurate, because most likely your original DSE801 battery is not working normally. If it did you would get the same but for shorter period of time.

In the case of the prodigy, you SHOULD get more because it works at 5V compared to 3.7v form the original battery or the SD.

You can ask trog himself and he will tell you the same thing.
He openly tells his customers that the SD is for people that need longer lasting battery power and a better looking and stronger case.
NOTHING else. He might have a bad temper, but he is honest about his product, unlike the people who do reviews about it.

Manual switches V.S. auto switches do MAKE a difference, because manuals don't have a cut off like auto switches do.

Somebody had a good idea earlier in this thread. We should test the voltages of these batteries under various loads (the resistance of various atomizers). We seem to agree that performance is a function of battery performance. I'd be very surprised if the pv factory batteries have the same low internal resistance of batteries made by battery companies that allow for maintaining the rated voltage under heavy load (high amperages), but I don't know and I'd like to.

Someone must have a voltmeter and several types of batteries they can do this test on.

This thread has been an interesting read.

My take is basically similar to the OP - the "vaping experience" is a function of: choice of atomiser and juice (the main bits) and voltage (a matter of choice as that alters the experience of both the atomiser and the juice). The "consistency" of the vaping experience is about batteries.

So the "big battery device" is indeed a means of attaching a reliable power source at the voltage of choice to the atomiser of choice to vape the juice of choice... It is basically that and nothing more.

What affects choice of big battery device? Clearly aesthetics, ergonomics, price, reliability, service and significantly, it appears, prejudice.

Lets look at a few of these in perspective:

Price - frankly, if you could afford to smoke, all of the big battery devices are affordable - I was spending 50 UKP a WEEK on cigarettes.

So, not price, but possibly "value for money"? This is much more subjective - for me, if I get something that does what I want at a price I can afford, and the device is reliable and I can get it fixed if it should break eventually, I've got VFM

Service - if something breaks - I have two choices - mend it myself or get it mended. I prefer to get it mended. I see no evidence that any of the big battery device vendors don't mend things. Quality of service? It's clear that most of the vendors a) actually provide pretty good service and b) have managed to piss at least one or two people off (that's business for you)

Aesthetics? Eye of the beholder stuff - meh (as some say)

Ergonomics - if you like the way it works it's ergonomic, if you don't it isn't. I like "button on the end" a la SD and Adaptever others don't - whatever.

As for whether something is made entirely from UK, US, Australian, Mongolian or Martian components of original conception, I don't give a toss - if it works well (for me) and doesn't break that's the job done.

Your absolutely right Tugger and it has been done. Just don't ask Warped, he admits he doesn't know much about electricity, besides it runs his puter.

And yet all of this Doesn't Change that the Mod's that some are selling are nothing more then Battery cases like you can buy at your Local Radio shack for under $10...The Mods are Slightly Prettier though...

No one has yet to Mod their own battery, their own Atomizer, Even there own Cart, as far as i can tell...so to call these Anything more then Battery Cases or to charge more then $25-$50 for one is a Scam

Wow... don't even know what to say here... I don't think all the custom design and manufacturing I have done to help the community is anything like a scam... if you have the ability to machine your own for $10... I say go for it... why would anyone mod there own battery or even there own atomizer for that matter... they are already so cheap it really doesn't make sense to do this... not to mention the tons of people already working on it... that is like re-inventing a car just to prove you can do it... this logic is just plain stupid!

Incorrect. There are *3* for sale mods that are worthwhile using my criteria:

1) Brings special features to the table. If it's just a battery box, I can make one of those pretty cheap.
2) Brings higher than 3.7 volts to the table
3) Constructed from scratch, not a cheap modified flashlight

And those mods are:

1) The Prodigy
*Juice catch under the atty connector is insanely awesome and convenient
*5V really is a "sweet spot"
*Button placement is ideal
*Construction is very modular and solid
*Batteries are protected
*All parts machined.

2) The Super-T
*Blast direction vents in case of battery issues
*Lockable MECHANICAL button, not electronic
*No soldering, wires, etc
*Completely machined
*Adjustable airflow
*Completely Mechanical

3) The GG
*Completely machined
*Completely mechanical
*Arguably the nicest looking heirloom quality mod made.
*Heavy innovation from the creator in the form of auto juice feed, and a custom atomizer.

Honorable Mention (because the prices aren't outrageous)

1) BillyBoy's double atomizer mods
*Because it's a friggin double atomizer mod

2) The "Copper" and "The Box" from Atmosusa
*Because they are both inexpensive, and the push to vape on the Copper is pretty badass.

Anything else I've seen *FOR SALE* brings absolutely nothing special to the table at all, or is outrageously priced for being 90 percent flashlight. That's just my opinion though. Let the holywar begin.

not even a mention of the AdapteveR... how quickly people forget all my hard work several months ago... or all the stolen concepts.... there was only the SD before me... sad how quickly people forget who started this whole seen... and this whole debate...

Zofryer, you know i have nothing against you, but this is overly ridiculous and unfortunately you came and added to it at the wrong time. Clearly Cash is bitter and even though i don't know him, now i don't want /need to.
I am not against quality, my favorite mod PV is the T1, what more quality can you ask for?
LOL, i don't know who ridewithme is, Cash was just crashing the thread, and ridewithme decided by himself he had enough of Cash as much as i did.
I also support some manufacturers here, i even purchased PRE- ordered 2 USB passthroughs and a 901 prodigy adapter from Cash, and i NEVER bad mouthed the products, because i don't think that is fair.
But, now that i know that he is no one i would respect for any reason, i can tell you that those passhthroughs are/were a piece of crap, the cables were so stiff i could almost hang my clothes to dry on them when i hooked it to my USB port, the stiffness of the cables were causing the switches to turn inside the shell and the switch button was getting stuck to the on position for the same reason, so i had to mod them and add RCAs to make it workable. Now probably i will post my prodigy passthrough mod sometime soon for all to see.

Anyways, as i said, I wish things would have happened in a different way.

BTW...you support the community and i am the communist? :p
(just a little bad joke)

Sigh.

I may be rather new here, but I have to say I'm very disappointed in this thread. Maybe someone can point out some answers to some questions I have:

1. Were Warp's claims actually logically debated here? I didn't see that anywhere.
2. What did the side rants about "made from scratch" have anything to do with "MYTHS and FACTS about Batteries + mods"? Seems like that should have been another thread altogether.
3. Why do we have to resort to name-calling people? Is this junior high?
4. Noah from Innovapor made a comment on another thread a few days ago and was blasted by a few for being sarcastic (I didn't see the sarcasm...). However Cash has been blatantly argumentative, condescending, and rude in this thread. Why has no one mentioned this? Remember Cash, all readers are possible clients.

It's a sad day for this vaper. I feel like my perfect little online world of friends and sharing has been tarnished.

Shame on you.

Your "facts" are not entirely accurate, while other "facts" are spot on imo:

FACT- Mods DO NOT produce more or less vapor, POWER sources do.

Some mods do produce varying degrees of vapor, even when using the same battery and atomizer. It has to do with draw. Some designs allow more air in through the seating surface, threads and center hole. It is minute, but there is a difference. It's kind of where i came up with the idea for the adjustable draw on my 801 (though i did the adjustable draw for the draw feeling itself). The reasoning is simple, velocity and volume of air that is going through the atomizer effects vapor production.

Secondly, a big props to you about the review videos. They border on pointless in some cases (not all, but some).

-Many videos are done by peope who received free P.V's to review and then they all add in the beginning "oh, but this will in no way effect my review" Numerous psychological tests have been done on this type of incentive and how it effects ones opinion and the outcome- Go to PsycINFO: Your Source for Psychological Abstracts to search the database. (my apologies, I have a psych degree) Bottom line, if you received it free, your opionion is biased, no matter how much you try to be neutral. The guy who receives one for free versus the guy who paid 150 of his hard earned money are going to have, on average, different perspectives and expectations...enough said.

-Vapor production on videos is pointless. I can't count how many times i've watched people in video's draw on their PV for what seems like an eternity, all the while, trying to act like they aren't trying to suck a golf ball through a garden hose...lol

Just some of my observations:
David
