Regardless of whether or not there's an air tube, won't you still have leakage problems where the mesh goes through the ring?

Too loose - leaks. Too tight - no juice to the coil.

I asked Raidy about this a few days ago - and he says he has no leaks in all his models. The steel mesh is rolled into a spiral and I guess the viscosity of the juice keeps it from leaking. Personally, I would think some sort of cap on the tip of the wick would add an extra level of safety if necessary - maybe a blob of lead-free solder would do it.

I've just modified it... (auto version... (manual requires no air pipe))

Nice 'slopes', I went over to his thread as soon as 'misterkill' showed us here (I think it was him). Mind blowing stuff for sure. It'd be great if we could apply it to the E2. I'll def keep my eye on it.

I alo noticed that these wicks burn. I showed it in pictures here:

One of the wicks was bunt in pieces. These are version R4.

That was one of the pictures, I broght it here because it shows the gunk that I don't want.
The coil or wick needs to be serviceable.

And here below is my carto, the wick fell apart at the gunk. To avoid distraction, I'm not going to call it burning, the fact is that it doesn't matter what it's called, I just don't want it either, and it doesn't taste good either, it ruins the flavors.

Any mod that allows the user to service the wick and coil with ease will be greatly appreciated.

i wouldnt know where to begin to make that, i would love to pay him handsomly to build it for us.

Not that i couldnt build it, but it aint gonna happen by just looking at pics, i would need a step by step guide for the brainless(me)

You and me both, he's given some specifics but will give a more detailed how to when he gets back from vacation.

what we can use for now, is the brother mod tube and insert ptb inside of it to act like the mesh.

then tie the coil around the tube at the top.

turbo you actually have the long tube needed in the ce1 xl you got.

Ahh, that's right, thanks for the reminder.

roll up ptb like a tube then insert it into the broither mod tube, the ptb part can sit in the tank but the brother tube is long enough to sit in and out the tank as well, plus it has a slit in the middle so the ptb will always be soaked. this way not only the the coil but the wick can be serviced and changed as well(for a test mod) or those thick braided wics might be good.

im getting ahead of myself but all these possibilities are truly exciting, whenever a group of people are able to change something like this I get really happy, innovation makes me smile.

heres my theory, the e2's coil get scrunched together coupled with gunk it makes it harder for juice to pass through it, the gunk builds up and even if that area is wet you can take a drag and get a funky taste, so if its dry inside the gunk or if its the gunk burning thats what we are tasting, you can tilt and wet it more or pull through it and as it heats the juice will flow through it but you can still get a slight hint of the taste of gunk.

breaking it up with a needle helps a little to dislodge the gunk but it will build up again unless you dry burn it.
i think the case of this is the coils being to close to gether and they eventually bunch up and with gunk it becomes tight and packed in the one area , so whatever design is made the coil loops cant bunch up together.

Bad - I don't think Raidy's rolled mesh idea is a million miles away from your teabagging. In fact the superfine mesh he specifies looks very similar to your material. All he's done is wrapped a coil around one end to heat it up... which is possible because it's made of steel and not nylon. The air tube in my drawing can be lost altogether - it's only there for people like me who like autos.

I don't know what a brother mod tube is, but if you are thinking about rolling up ptb for it, you may also want to think about the wick for an alcohol lamp. It is a tube. Mine is made of cotton, but I don't know what kind of fiber is used for this one: Alcohol lamp wicks, 12 pack

If I remember correctly, 100% cotton fiber is best for a wick. Of coarse cotton burns, but probably no more than ptb.

For the wick outside of the coil we really want a poor wick, even no wick would work, if the cup didn't have large and leaky slots. Just holding the ecig flat like a cigarette would put liquid around the cup. Maybe it just needs a better cup with no slots and looser coils

Maybe completely distracted wicks? :)

Is there anyone else besides Johnson Creek that makes 100% VG? I seem to have a bad reaction to the PG liquids I've used.

A lot of people also like Good Prophets' new 100% VG line. And Rob sells tiny 3 ml sample bottles and offers first class shipping, so you can try a bunch of different flavors without investing too much money.

Ecopure line from Cignot (and Intellicig) is good but much more expensive.

BR, V1John, Banjo, its good old USA time. we need to build that thing at all costs.
