I have to be downright intrigued to sit through one of his vids
That's why the phrase "a full busardo" is a thing

It's somewhat interesting in principle but I won't get one for sure. This doesn't seem like a worthwhile device to test and it's almost impossible the pods can have a low price point.

Other and better ultrasonic devices will appear (or not if it proves to be something nobody wants).
The larger German project (TA-EW Nebulizer) which used low pressure and ultrasonic misting techniques didn't even make it to the market - nobody really knows why.

Once again, Rossum, I find you to be a remorseless enabler. I am reviewing that BAM thread now. Having followed your past recommendations and not regretting that, I expect to ultimately fall. I have been looking at regulated squonkers for a while but have most of them wanting. Often they have a nice board (Evolve) but lousy 510's and very .... poor boxes.
Please understand, I do not own a BAM, so I can't vouch for it from personal experience. However, I've known Turbo for a long time (long before he was a vendor) and I believe he has very high standards.

@Rossum is that case a wait-on-a-list type of thing or is it readily available?

Also Mike, did you ever sift through that pile of data on flavorings & vanilla etc.? Interested to hear your thoughts.
Yeah, they taste good, and they gunk up a coil, that much was pretty conclusive. :D

More the former than the latter. Turbo makes em in batches, but he gives priority to ECF people over his other outlets (presumably FB?).

They look nice, but they are handmade, so they are quite pricey. Then again, there is no such thing as a cheap DNA based regulated squonker.
I will personally vouch for Turbo's crafstmanship though, been knowing him for years. I dont squonk, but if I did, his would be on my shortlist of "most desired".

Yeah you can see the craftsmanship in the pics in that thread. If I made one, it would have to be 3d printed, or made of wood (maybe). Speaking of which do you know of a good quality, reliable, durable 3d printer?

Shapeways and Sculpteo!

No first hand experience with one myself. Been tempted several times but the technology is evolving at such a fast rate that I keep feeling like whatever I buy would be obsolete by the time I conquered the learning curve of it. So I just use the services, upload a STL file and let them do it.

Thanks. Helpful as always. I will look into these.

You can do all plastics and woods, with metals I'd only do the softer ones like aluminium or bronze/copper (good tool bits aren't particularly cheap and harder metal will make you go through more than you'd like, maybe even put too much stress on the small motors).
With that you can make professional mods down to (almost) all parts. Drawback is noise and dust but that can be dealt with.

Any of this sound familiar?

Looking at the figures in that paper, it seems the biggest factor in determining coil temperature is not how much voltage or power was applied, but rather how wet the coil is. Makes prefect sense...

(I reflexively squonk every hit). :w00t:

Points I found interesting:
  • Their observation of temperatures using drippers.
  • PG/VG combo burning hotter than PG alone.
    • These results indicate that e-liquid composition could significantly influence coil temperature, confirming a theoretical expectation
  • Their comparison between IR and Thermocouple measurement results
