Currently, the 250 and the 60 are my two favorite boards. The 75C - meh. But then I dont change materials often if ever, so the nice menu on the color one is sort of just fluff to me. But to someone new to TC, or someone who changes coil materials often, the color menu is a godsend.

The 250 for its 2A charger.
The 60 for its small size.

I get a perfectly satisfying vape off of either.

I could be wrong, but I really doubt that a DNA250C would do anything at all for @Katya that a DNA75C wouldn't do just as well.

I beg your pardon. I happen to be a very sophisticated vaper.

Interesting. I'm new to TC but don't change materials often (and not planning to--I'm sticking with ss 316L for the time being).
The 60 for its small size.

Small size is good in my book.
The 250 for its 2A charger.

Of no interest to me whatsoever.

I want a DNA Prius board. Press this button to start, then press one of those buttons to select your preferred power mode--Normal, ECO or Power. :D

So...
After 40 years of dumping tobacco smoke into my lungs I am supposed to worry what vaping might do to me ?
And while I am at it, forget years of building coils and park 19 REO mods because "the sky is falling" ?
The solution is a made in China box mod that could blow up in my face !

Sorry, I have already buried friends and family members over things far more serious than vaping.
Keep making studies, and improve the quality of vaping for the next generation !

Nah, the sky isn't falling. Even at 500°F the levels that Mike found are in a range that Dr. Farsalinos considers "minimal". Go another 5-10°F higher and the vape starts tasting off.

Now it's a fact that you can have even lower levels (approaching zero) by staying at lower temps, and TC can help ensure that one stays at those lower temps, meaning for those who want the absolute safest vape possible, TC is the way to go. Is that incremental improvement worth it? That's an individual decision.

Like you, I'm not giving up my mechanical squonkers. :D

There are things I'm willing to do to make vaping safer for me including TC, but not 100% of the time. However, there is lots more valuable information on this thread. I turned all my wattages down, and I like a cool vape. I take care not to chain vape (my a.m. chainvaping setup of having at least 4 mods to vape has helped with that issue) and as someone who can't use PG I am now using distilled water and a tiny bit of vodka in my Max VG. These are all "best practices" that Mike P. has talked about OTHER than TC, I don't think he's ever stated that anyone "should" use TC, he has merely done a lengthy and time consuming set of experiments to help vapers vape safely.

I personally (even using TC only some of the time) feel far safer learning what I can do to minimize undesirable things in my vape, even if I'm not going to use RTAs all the time, or even TC capable coils 100% of the time (I have a Kabuki), but I applaud Mike for presenting the information as well as things you can do in TC OR not, to make vaping safer. I also find at lower wattages, I go through less juice, and less battery, and that's also fine in my book.

Vape on, but I'm still going to give another big shoutout to Mike P. for his willingness to do all this work. Obviously on a mech mod you are limited in your choices, but I doubt anyone uses a mech mod all the time, and even so, as Mike has pointed out, his testing has indicated that it takes a fairly high temp to get OUTRAGEUS values and undesirable byproducts, so even if using a mech some, or most of the time, this information is useful to everyone (IMO). I didn't quit smoking to not vape as safely as I can (within my parameters and preferences) so I have nothing but gratitude for this info (though I will say, upon starting the thread and new to ECF I was a bit panicky about it, and it probably got me trying (often the wrong setups, LOL) RTAs and temp control sooner than I might have, though deeming and the ability to make my own coils helped, too.

Just my opinion as always,

Anna

Fantastic thread by a fantastic researcher. A thankless job delving into a topic with so many variables and combinations.

As Mike stated, another option on temp is to physically use the probe on every tank/coil combo to get the true temp reading at the coil for at least a reference point.

For now, I am fairly secure in what I’m doing. Innokin T22 tanks with 1.5 coils, N2 and Kabuki clones with 1.8 coils. MTL at between 8-9 watts. No chain vaping. That’s the best I can do for now.
Thanks Mike.

Perhaps, some day, attIEs will arrive with little coil probes in lieu of the little blue screwdriver. Perhaps they'll even be integrated into the atty, and one can discover the temp info as easily as the ol' puff counter. Complete automation, you know, for the new vaper? (We ARE still concerned about that sector, n'est pas?)

Til then... ;)

Vape longly. Vape loudly. Vape proudly.

Running joke about squonkers versus the "world".

Then it's a very poor joke without a punchline....
When I started, I was told Reonauts do not speak poorly of other people's vaping gear. I still try to practice this, as long as others can allow my own personal choices.
If you want to use TC box mods, fine.
If you want to go mechanical, fine.
Anything that keeps one away from tobacco smoke is an improvement !
I am perfectly content with my vaping gear and habits.
Hopefully you will be, too.
