e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat - FAQ: Forum Rules - All new members must read before posting!
Suppliers, Affiliates, Manufacturers etc
We want to keep the forums clear of spam and self-promotion so.......
If you are an e-cigarette supplier/affiliate/manufacturer etc, you must get in touch with Site Admin at:
admin@e-cigarette-forum.com
.....to identify yourself before you start posting in the forums. Failure to do this may result in an immediate ban.
You must not promote your products or send members promotional messages through the private message system without their having contacted you first. If you are reported as having done this and evidence is seen you will be banned with no warning
If you are promoting any other product than e-cigarettes you must also get in touch with Site Admin to make sure your product is appropriate for the forum.
You may not post in the review section, or make any posts which reference your own products or solicit for business, except in the Suppliers Forum.
You may not post in the New Members Forum.
You may put one link to your product / website in your signature line.
You are free to contribute to any discussion in any other forum providing you follow the above rules.
You may not use the blog system to promote or solicit your business or products.
You may not post in any Suppliers' forums other than your own.
Contest threads with the purpose of building a high post count are expressly forbidden for all suppliers - these games take up a huge amount of forum resources and suppliers found to engage in these types of promotions may be banned with no further warning.
You may request your website be added to the Suppliers List that is maintained in the suppliers forum by getting in touch with any of the moderators or by posting a request in the thread.
You must not use the tag system under any circumstances. If you do so you risk losing your posting privileges for a set period of time.
You must not use the PM system to promote your product without prior permission - ie no cold calling. This will be treated as spam, and you will be banned.
You may not have a 3rd party make promotional posts on your behalf. If this is found to be the case both you and the 3rd party will be banned.
If you think something may make a user or moderator raise their eyebrows, don't do it - or ask a moderator first. Moderators may give infractions at any time at their discretion.
If you have any problems with the forum rules or other members, contact the moderators - do not start a thread on the board until you have discussed things first.
These rules have been devised over time by this forum's community to ensure that the board is a pleasant and neutral place for users to meet and discuss e-smoking.
Given this fact, suppliers should be aware that going against these rules is likely to offend potential customers. It should also be noted that the rules change here whenever new issues are brought up, so check this post often!
Suppliers' sites
We will not link to sites, or allow suppliers to post on ECF whose sites contain the following:
Health claims of any sort whatsoever, including:
quotes from medical professionals
comparisons to tobacco
words such as "safe" "healthier" "cleaner" "toxin-free" "no-carcinogens" etc.
Claims for smoking cessation, such as:
"give up tobacco" "quit smoking" etc
The above claims are misleading to potential consumers and may create problems with the regulatory agencies. Claims of this type are unsubstantiated since there is no recognised research data to confirm them, and this means that there are also legal issues if such claims are made.
Sponsoring Suppliers
Sponsoring suppliers are subject to the same rules as laid out above
To pay for the considerable costs of ECF, we operate a sponsorship system whereby suppliers pay a monthly fee. In return suppliers are provided with a forum of their own on the front page, a banner in the Approved Suppliers list, the ability to run banner adverts, ads at reduced rates where feasible, and other benefits.
Suppliers are responsible for the content of their forum, and have moderating permissions to that end.
The forum administration reserves the right to move, copy, or delete any threads in any forum at its discretion.
All threads must be locked once they reach 300 posts.
Contest threads designed to build a high post count are expressly forbidden. Contest threads are permitted on the condition that suppliers lock them after 300 posts and only run one at a time.
It is strictly forbidden for suppliers to post in the forum of another supplier unless they have permission to do so from that forum's moderator.
