I have had the engine for a little over a month now and its definitely in my main rotation
Obs Engine
Sapor rta 22 and 25
Rose v3
Petri RTA
Griffin Plus
Merlin Mini

For me I don't worry about pulling the coils as high as I do in the Sapor or other top airflow attys(partially due to the insert that will short your build) and my wicking works very well when I cut the wicks very short and flush with the inner part of the deck and fold them under a tiny bit goes in the hole but that's not what I shoot for. I make sure the cotton is snug in the coils but still very movable. Spit back has been very minimal when I make sure to keep my wicks very short

I saw Obs as an rdta coming out the frost wyrm I think it's called,it looks just like the engine but wicks up like the avocado, vgod,Genesis style is what am trying to say lol,it looks interesting though am not crazy about Genesis style tanks I must admit,it looks like it has 2 airflow slots on the top, bigger ones if you run some really ohmed out coils, and smaller holes if you put some nano coils in there for 50-60 watts, plus the regular air holes that you can open or shut like the engine has, curious to see some reviewers get there hands on it to see more and see what they think of it,not for sale yet any where yet,saw one place in the uk has it on pre order for £24.00 so am assuming we will start to see reviews for that bad boy any day now;-)

Just a quick follow up,after watching Daniels review from djslb vapes I decided to rewick my engine,I used 28 gauge triple twisted kanthal on a 3.5 mm bit 9 wraps which came out to .44 ohms, had to use a bit more cotton to fill up that 3.5 mm diameter but turns out it works pretty good and fills up those wicking holes completely,I cut them past the deck by about 2-3 mm then grabbed the ends and placed them inside the holes making the wicks touch the bottom of the deck as he did,I didn't have much faith that it would work good at all,but to my surprise it's the smoothest it's been since I've had it,no gurgling or spit back to report, even when filling it up,am using 70/30 juices and he stated to use 3.5 mm for that viscosity and 2.5 mm for 80/20 and above,it's made a difference in performance for me as I was running 3 mm coils before, just wanted to share that with you all in case you did not catch that review and might still be having issues, vape safe peeps;-)

Sorry it's me again lol, just for fun tried again with 3 mm coils and all is still good, the key here even though a lot of reviewers say not to have your wicks touch the deck is wrong in my opinion,I think ripp and Daniel are correct on this one, making them touch bottom helps greatly in spit back and the way it's going to wick,I've wicked this thing up many of times since I've had it and so far this method works the best,of course which ever you have yours wicked up and it works fine for you then don't change a thing, but if you're having issues I highly recommend trying out this method,it might solve all of your issues,it did for me,peace out vapers;-)

I had watched videos back when the first reviewers got them and I think it was Vaping Vic (sorry Vaping Vic if it wasn't you) that showed tucking the tails beneath the coil, and that method certainly did not work for me. Daniel does a good job on his reviews and it figures that he would get it right. Glad you got it working good franck.

Glad you finally got it bud,if you have any spit back issues or fludding when filling make you're wicks touch the bottom of the deck and it gets rid of those issues, for me it's been the best method,I found its smoother that way as well;-)

What's the lighter for? Are you having a smoke while coiling? Lol
I often lose it to my wife who still smokes but I use it to light my bernzomatic micro torch. I like to tighten my coils up before installing, old school like.

I got my OBS Engine five days ago and I set it up using the supplied coils. It works fine with no spitback like some report but I do have occasional popping. I have re-wicked it twice to try and stop the popping but no luck. I am about ready to try some different coils and see if that will stop it from popping. Aside from the occasional noise it works great and vapes almost as well as my TF-RDTA from Smok. They both have almost exactly the same build deck. The Smok never pops or spits and blows bigger clouds with comparable flavor to the Engine. If I can stop the popping I will be happy with the purchase.

I'm getting no popping using fused claptons in mine, it might be the coils.

GURGLING - I have a pro tip from the one and only Roxynoodle, she says laying the engine completely on it's side while refilling keeps hers from any gurgling. IIRC, She wicks with rayon and has it cut to just cover each hole.

I just refilled mine for the first time. I have my cotton fluffy stuffed through each hole and almost touching the very bottom. I must be one of the lucky ones, no dry hits or gurgles so far.
