I think it is just a natural byproduct of the design. Since there is no way to close the juice flow and isolate it from the fresh liquid, when you fill with the added pressure you are going to flood the deck. A few gentle pulls and it clears. I don't believe there is any fix for that problem. I still love the product as it cannot leak and once it settles down from a refill it is a great vape.

Once you get the wicking right for your mix of juice it should not flood even when filling. I have a couple of these rtas and one of the things I love about them is that they vape exactly the same after I fill them with no adjustments of juice flow control or air flow control. They are very consistent and I really like that. It is just a matter of finding the right wick install for the juice you are using. Keep trying different methods as the end results I believe are worth it.

Also popping usually means a couple things
1. Not enough wick

2. Not enough power....the ejuice is boiling and spitting/popping the juice instead of vaporizing it.

3. RTAs that wick very efficiently will usually pop pretty bad after a period of not using it. As we know coils (especially advanced coils) hold a small degree of liquid. After a period of rest the coil becomes super saturated with EJuice that as a cold coil warms up to it's temp will boil the juice instead of vaporizing it.

Find something that works for you and stick to it

+1 on that.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on one of these Shawn. If you, @Eskie & @DP2Raja like it it's gonna be right up my ally.

So what kind of power levels are you all running on this flavor monster?

Anyone running in TC? How's the res stability?
I'm running in TC. I've got a dual coil stainless steel building in there coming out to about .3 ohms. I'm running around 60 W and 420° on my Reuleaux.

I have a couple of fused clapton coils in there at the moment at .39 ohms. I am not into very hot vapor so I run it at about 35w. I have tried other coils down to .2 ohms so that I could run it up to 60w but I prefer it as I have it now. I may get around to rolling some 316L and trying that on temp control. I am using it on a Reuleaux 2/3 in 2 battery mode.

Love to see an escribe DM graph of that setup Shawn.
As it's on an RX, that's likely not gonna happen soon lol... Maybe this weekend... My weekends are Sunday/Monday, and I'm driving The Wife to a conference on Sunday, and working a second job Monday, but maybe...

I'm loving my Engines. running with simple dual coil 316L ~0.5 ohm 30W 450F on a DNA Therion and VT75 (have 2, 1 SS 1 black). Here's a VT75 curve.

@Eskie , thanks for the DM graphs. Wow 30w, I thought this atty would be vaping at the 50-70w level pretty easily with dual coils.

A little tip for graphing in DM: under "graph options" there is a tab for adjusting time. I forget exactly what it's called (my computer is down) but you can adjust it to spread out that 3-4 sec pull over the entire width of the graph area. It really gives a lot better resolution to your graphed vape so you see in greater detail your temp and power curves.

Thanks. Didn't realize you could change the scale. But yeah, 30W (?40W preheat for maybe a second) and maintaining the temp doesn't require much power. Obviously different with a lower resistance high mass build. Can't run my dual Claptons at that.:)

You must be running pretty small gauge wire then. 28-30g maybe?

28G SS on these builds. My Claptons are usually 26/30 or 26/32. I have lots of 28G SS on hand.:D
Right, love 28g ss for clappy cores. I've been using 38g KA1 for claptoning lately. Very fast firing times and excellent flavor too. It's as fine as hair and impossible for me to see while claptoning though.... lol

I'm lucky when I get the 30 or 32 to wrap right. No way I could get 38 to wrap properly, even with a magnifying glass.;)
