Haven't got my Ody in my hot little hands yet, but all these reports of the ceramic falling apart are concerning to me. Even the one I'm getting from Repent reportedly has a small chunk missing.

Maybe Imeo needs to take a closer look at how these ceramics are manufactured and offer current owners some sort of upgrade/swap....??

Also, with all the posts concerning 'soapy taste' and 'metal particles' - maybe all parts should get some sort of acid bath before being shipped out to suppliers. :2c:

Don't get me wrong, I'm still VERY excited to get my Ody - I'll bathe her like a Queen when she gets here. ;-)

Mine wicks well as does my wife's or I would have heard about it by now after a couple days of use. I cut the wick at about the level of the small oring or maybe just a tad higher. Using stock wick and her juice that she is using is 90% or better VG it is really thick and she vapes alot so if there were problems I would have heard of it.

I was excited to get this because she was really hard on cartomizers for whatever reason. Mine would last me 2 week or more which is pretty good for a $1.50 consumable item. But she would use a carto for a couple of days and complain about tight draw or she would not fill it right or often enough and burn it. She was nearly as bad with atomizers which would not last her very long. This device may keep her going a long time trouble free. We will see.

It sounds like I may be in the minority but mine was very easy to clean. I used soap & very hot tap water to soak for maybe 5 minutes. I gently scrubbed with a toothbrush, rinsed & repeated. No discernible odor or taste. Also, my ceramic came out with no problem. Upon closer inspection of the ceramic, it is slightly crumbled around the top. No cracks are evident at this time & it seems to be holding up for now.

Its a start up issue. Imeo will make thousands of these eventually. The Ody is well worth it

The cracked ceramic thing could be the result of poor handling during shipment, too, so not necessarily anything to do with manufacturing.

My ugly coil popped right as I got to the end of the first fill, so I rinsed it all real good with hot water and did a new setup. 2.7 ohms this time and much neater than the first one. Filled with a different juice and now i totally get the soapy/perfume taste that's been mentioned, but it's fading fairly quickly. Still vaping like a champ :)

Another plus of Odysseus: I can't flood this thing if I tried. The first juice I used was 90%VG and I left the juice control full open, this juice I'm using now is a 50%VG mix and even leaving it sitting for about 10 minutes fully open it doesn't flood. I haven't had any dry hits, either, except when I first filled it and forgot to open the juice control afterward

....or mishandling by the end user. Sometimes damage is done and we don't realize we caused it.....not saying it happened in this instance, but I've been around the block enough to have experienced/seen it many times.

One note on the ceramic design that's noteworthy. With the Iatty ceramics, there was limited space to make higher ohm coils, but with this baby there is PLENTY of room so the size R wire isn't an issue. A 3.5 ohm on the Iatty took some care in wrapping to make it fit, but with this one there is TONS of room. I'm lovin' it

I cleaned my ODY with hot soapy water, then used a toothbrush to every part except inside the stem of the mouthpiece. I then soaked it in PGA for an hour and repeated the hot water cleaning process.

Like many here, I too got the perfume vapor. I then cleaned it out once more with only scalding hot tap water and the perfume smell seemed to have gone away.

Perhaps there was still chemical residue left in the mouthpiece..?

I'm having no issue with a bad taste, washed with hot water and soap and its fine, vaping great. The only one issue i have is the occasional burnt taste but I'm sure thats just me getting used to it and not knowing when to open up the chamber more

is there an ETA of the big mode, don't want to miss out on that badboy! I hope odyseuss spare parts come with that shipment too I'm looking for a replacement base with the threads on mine are slightly bent but no big deal

I feel left out, no bad taste, no metal particles, no chunks missing and no ceramic falling apart. Well built, threads easy, just a few minutes to get it going and it vapes great. Extremely happy with this piece. Awesome work imeo. Ready for Ody part 2.
I had no problems either. None

Someone at the greek forum suggested a bath in boiled milk for the bad taste . It worked !! Well... even Odysseus needs a cleopatra style bath

I read that and had asked about it. So you just put the parts in a pan of milk and bolied? For how long? Did you boil the ceramic?

Are you using the standard wick that was included? I'm in exactly the opposite situation - its either dry or flooding. I'm probably doing something wrong. Just haven't figured out what it is quite yet

Did you screw the mouthpiece down before you filled it. I assume you did but just getting the obvious out of the way.
