OK, why all the ProVari hate?

Wow sorry guys I didn't mean to hurt feelings by insulting your favorite mod! And yes I had heard that the provari would not fire a low ohm coil. Before I tried I didn't even know the ohms.

Since I can consistently wrap a low ohm coil I quit checking. I just figured hey I'll play with the provari for a bit to burn some time and boom it wouldn't even fire. They main reason I hate electronics in my mods. If I wanna vape at 18 watts I'm gonna vape at 18 watts damnit.

I don't see anything wrong with a mod shutting down when it senses a high wattage over limit load. 4v on a 1.2 ohm coil creates a 3.33 amp load that produces over 13 watts. Knock the resistance down to 1.1 ohms and it reaches about 3.6 amps. The only thing that I know of capable of producing more than 3.5 amps is a mechanical mod and the good ones have a sacrificial battery spring that goes into meltdown past a certain point.

But then, I'm one of those vapers who is happy at 6 to 7 watts. My throat thanks me for being considerate.

And how long do your batteries last running 3.7v into a .8ohm load?

You'd probably blow the coil before the battery would drain(4.6A/17W)

That was kind of my point when they complained a Provari wouldn't run it.

LOL. I am with you guys. It was not the provari but all the idiots and hype. I could buy a provari but I also like interesting and unusual things. So I bought a vamo when no one else knew what they were. works great. A friend of mine uses a provari and even he uses it as a running joke but he still uses it and likes it. This happens in every hobby. Cars, rc, guns, etc... You just have to find what makes you happy.

So don't check your coils and vape at 18 watts.

I really don't see the provari not being a mechanical mod as a knock against it, they even put a screen on it as a clue that it's not.

Your implied condescension doesn't help your argument. Let me put it another way and I'll make it rather clear...you are what annoys people, not the provari. Sure some people don't hold the opinion of it that you do but that isn't hating.

For example

Hating the provari would be "The provari is crap"

Different opinions on the provari would be "It needs VW", "I wouldn't spend that much money on it" or "[insert mod here] is better than a provari for [insert reason here]".

Couldn't tell you, not my bag. I wrap my genesis coils in the 1.8-2.2 ohm range and vape them at around 4 volts. It's convenient that way, I can move from a VV or VW device to a mechanical and get a pretty consistent performance.
