Woohoo! New vape gear arriving.

I understand your pain - I haven't touch my Dillion equipment in quite some time. Can't even believe the cost of some .22 plinking ammo, if you can find it.

/QUOTE]

I'm stacked deep. Might end up parroting with some for more vape gear. Lol

Holy crap Uncle Willie - you could be sitting on a fortune. Look at this I just saw over in the Provari forum.

I just got an e-mail from the Washington Vapers Advocacy Network. Here's what it said in part.

"Even worse, an amendment has been introduced that would tax e-cigarettes by nicotine concentration. Washington Legislators are proposing a $28 tax on a 15 ml bottle of 2.4% nicotine juice.
If this amendment passes, a 30 ML bottle of 2.4% liquid would taxed at an OUTRAGEOUS $57.60. No, we’re not kidding. It’s that bad."

Since I mentioned I'm starting a quit-smoking blog, and because I posted that earlier pic... you can see how my new "hobby" is taking on a life of its own... Pretty soon I really will need a 2nd kitchen!!

Vapemail's here! Off to mix up some Virginia!!

Ahhh, what a cute little corner. Take a picture, it's going to start expanding like a 13 year old boy having a growth spirt.

What is the recipe and how long has it been? I'm just getting my feet wet into the tobacco flavors but I know they are all over the map until they steep a couple weeks.

(insert smartass comment here) What percentage of celery did you add?

:D No celery at all, but it sure smells like rotten celery -- like it's been sitting in the crisper for a few months and needs to be tossed. It's Virginia tobacco flavor; I started with 1%. Rotten celery. A guy in the DIY forum said to make it 2% so I did. Still rotten celery. And MFS is still out of stock on the PG-Virginia.

Don't I know it. I had to push my can opener and mixer to the side, so as not to clutter up the pic. Now, everytime I need to use them, I have to pull them over the top of all that crap. And in the cabinet below, already I have my big bottle of PG and a collection of small funnels. Once I have something to put into those brown bottles, they'll be going down below as well. Then maybe I can get to my kitchen implements. ;)

Saw this *darling* cabinet with a firmly-closing door, the other day at Hobby Lobby; all I could envision was how great it would be for my Vaping Cabinet. But the ol man had to pop my bubble, by asking me where I'd put it. I don't have a clue! :D

SOunds like something twonky with the protank.

Did you do the check ohms on the provari to be sure it is 2.5?
Did you make sure the coil head is firmly screwed in?
Are you getting airflow to it?

EDIT: Which protank is this?

Well I'll tell you what, If I run across something that works I'll keep you in mind. I'm going to try some of the recipes over in the diy section for tobacco but it will be a few weeks between bonehead mistakes and steeping before I know. I want to make some dark flavor heart-punch hi nic for craving emergencies. I have some of the original crown seven 18 tobacco juice that is pretty nasty but takes care of the craving-a-cig problem pretty fast.

ok PT2 looks like the airflow is the same as the PT 1 big channels cut into the base. If you are using a beauty ring or an adapter try it without that

If that fails try another coil.

Honestly 4.5 volts sounds a bit high to me but that is such an individual thing who am I to judge. One thing is for certain something is twonky.

So, none of you DIYers know how to kill that "rotten celery" taste in a tobacco flavor? Cap off? Pre-mix with PG and let it steep/age? Anything at all???

Sorry, can't help ya dere!

I only use celery as a component of da Coonass 'TRINITY'.

really bummed
Andria

I'm sorry I can't help. I just have never experienced a "rotten celery" smell. So, I don't know what's causing it. But, I'm a baby DIYer. Hopefully, someone with more experience will know.

ETA: Wow, I should have hit 'refresh' before I answered! Ya'll were busy while I took my nap!

Andria, how long has your DIY juice been steeping? Didn't you just get your supplies a few days ago? I won't touch any tobacco DIY before it has steeped for 30 days.

Well, the only thing I can think to do with it (that FA Virginia flavoring) is to leave the cap off; I've put it into the bottom-most drawer of my chest-of-drawers, because that's filled with sweatshirts that I never wear anymore, so who cares if they absorb the stink; at least it is far away from the clothes in there that I *do* wear. No way I could keep it in here in the kitchen; even with the cap ON, IN the closed drawer on the far side of the kitchen... I could still smell it.

I'm sure most people think I'm exaggerating my hyperactive sense of smell, but I'm really not, and since my nose is no longer full of smoke, it's gone from hyperactive to "so your grandmother was a bloodhound?" From being able to smell a gnat fart, to being able to smell a gnat fart... in the next street over. :D

I knew quitting smoking was going to do this to my nose, but I don't know what I can do about it; noses don't have off switches. I think I'd rather smell bad stuff than die of cancer... but I might end up killing myself from all the stinks. 8-o

All I could think when I read this: Murderers!!!

Maybe it's time that we should stop talking defensively and start taking the offense. Maybe it's time the politicians were asked out loud why it's ok to murder smokers?

Sorry. I know, melodramatic. I just couldn't help myself. I feel better now.

deb - did you try mix & match to see whether its the Provari or Protank. Put the Protank on a different PV and a different topper on the Provari and see what goes?

4.5v on a 2.6Ω coil is not out of range for a lot of folks. I run 4-4.2v on 1.8-2.0Ωs so that shouldn't be the problem.

To check airflow: Just draw through the Protank w/o firing up the PV. Does it 'feel' right or tight?

You have to be careful with what tanks/toppers you put on a Provari. Some tanks and some toppers like the Vivi Nova Aspires can screw down so close to the top lip of the Provari, there's no air flow when drawing on it. I think the Protanks have a groove in the bottom, so it 'should' work OK w/ respect to air flow.
