I'm glad the new one is working out! If the Nitecore was much hotter, then something was definitely different between your chargers and the ones that were reviewed on Lygte-Info.dk. That's surprising to me, but not hard to believe at all. The charger is basically producing around 4V at around .5A (or up to 1A depending on the model). That's only 2W or 4W, which isn't a tremendous amount of power. And, a lot of that is getting stored in the battery rather than converted to heat. So, the charger and battery really shouldn't be getting very warm if it's working properly. Definitely sounds like you got a lemon the first time around.

Certainly no Einstein with these things but it seems that its "middle" cycle got too enthusiastic. They make a gazillion of these things and a few are bound to be wonky. It just seems to be the luck I'm having lately.Went for a test today with a $25,000 machine and it broke. Next week I get on a plane. I hope it works better.

Yeah, I remember you saying that a while back. I don't have access to a drill press. Will have to free hand it if I ever do it! That would be the scary part. I'd have to put it on a mod and put it in the vice. Then use the dremmel or hand drill. I was a cabinet maker, not a machinist so this is a little out of my wheel house.

Haven't opened up any of mine, but this set http://www.harborfreight.com/20-piece-18-in-shank-rotary-diamond-point-tips-69653.html should have a burr for your dremel - a long cylindrical one, just lay it into the existing channel and slowly work down. Don't need a vise, although a leather glove on the holding hand might be a good idea :)

Thanks for the link Mike... I learned a lot, but now my head hurts. Now where's that Aleve?? :D

"up his snorkel"... hehe... good one. lol. Yeah, he made me an offer I couldn't refuse... haven't heard back on my offer to at least repay him for postage. Knowing him, if it's not already in the mail, it will be shortly! Hoping I can fix it... if the firing mechanism is like mine is (was, before melting) it should be possible.

Really nice that he’s helping out. Not likely that he’ll take the postage. Maybe when you get a hold of his address you can mail him some ejuice, Essence of Sea Slug or something, and tell him you didn’t care for it but thought he might. Anyway, very sweet of him, just don’t tell him I said so. ;)

Dang Mike, I didn't know you had that many KF types, wow. Gotta say though I have had very good luck with my clones and the real one as far as leaking goes. They've been good for me, beginners luck I'm sure. Mike's been coaching me on the side. Using his 28g a on the 2mm screwdriver 7 wraps. But I am getting faster on the build and for the most part been using the Cotton Bacon that I think is pretty good till the other stuff comes to try. I was finding the organic cotton not lasting to long.

Hey, who was that very nice person that mentioned all the blems online at Provape, Flamingo Tutu? You just wrecked my bottom line :D I have been coveting a black and lo and behold, there was one there. I haven't seen black in the blems before and well, had to move on it. I have one other new kid in the stable, a Infinite StingRay clone, copper/ss that I am liking a lot. Venturing off into the mech mod area. I am not afraid of it, but have a healthy respect for the difference between that and the Prothingies.

Welcome all I missed cause, well, I can't remember who all is new, but glad your here, enjoy the best bunch of folks on ECF.

@ Wolfenstark Nicoticket has a chat if you can coordinate your hours with ours, you can ask them about shipping, they are great to deal with.

:D Love spending other people's money. More than that, love seeing people find what they really want especially at a bargain price. The million dollar question is, can you find the blemish?

I haven't tried KGD, but cotton and rayon definitely have that wet T-shirt taste for several hours. I've just rinsed the rayon without rewicking, and it usually comes out almost pure white, with no taste. I don't even bother drying it, .

Same here, but I do squeeze the bottom at wick level with an old washcloth, while blowing it out from the top to get the extra water out. Then I just gently fluff it up.
I've used them over and over and over, until they just plain wear out.
My box of rayon/cotton will probably last 3 generations

I always been bummed with my lousy taste buds when it comes to juices, but I guess the benefit is I've never "tasted" a wick .. can't tell the difference from one kind to another, taste wise.

The point is, people do not need to end up like that anymore from smoking. Vaping is an amazing tool and the FDA is going to take it away from us if they can. How can these people live with themselves?

They don't even think about it .... on the way to the bank :-x

Essence of Sea Slug or something, and tell him you didn’t care for it but thought he might.

 That caught me off guard "Essence of Sea Slug" .... GREAT name, I'm already thinking about what flavoring to use

<sigh> You do know I'm a hopeless animal lover right? Even went down to NOLA for several months to do animal rescue after Katrina. Sneaking into an area in the Lower 9th that was occupied by the military with orders to sot-to-kill first and ask questions later was interesting. Wasn't my idea, but worth it. Scary. Wish I vaped then, or maybe not. Rarely any electricity. There was a lot of fish filter type stuff, among other things, hanging from all the trees and power lines.

May that little shrimp rest in peace. How do you feel about veggies?

ETA Yikes, hope you don't think I'm bawling you out.

ETA again: What kind of beer? :D

Oh, so am I!!!

Even went down to NOLA for several months to do animal rescue after Katrina.

Went there many times prior to da big K. Ya wouldn't believe how many crustaceans I saved there from being washed out to sea and devoured by other sea creatures.

May that little shrimp rest in peace. pieces

All things will pass...

How do you feel about veggies?

Da Nawlin's 'trinity' with sum okra and garlic... divine. Most others... weeds (aka rabbit food)...

And yes, my doctor is concerned.

I luv pets. I just couldn't ever get a pet shrimp to go outdoors! And no, dey couldn't handle da kitty litter well either...

ETA post your edit: Bawling (now there's an ol' fashioned word) is not a carnivore option. Dis is fun!

Oh, Bud Lite Lime! Got hooked on dose down in da Keys when da weather was sweltering and no breeze. Much like da ladies there at dat time...

BTW. still lookin' fer a Key Lime joose!

OMG, thank you for the  . Still haunted/wound up by that poor gentleman at the hospital. Shrimp on a leash might be difficult.

Someone 'pointed' me to this thread. IMO - it's pretty darn good. It's not for everyone here on the porch but some might enjoy it. It's a good discussion on moving away from sub-ohm's with mechs w/ the influx of 30, 40 ,50, 100 watt devices. Gets 'technical' but the OP makes really good understandable analogies.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-vaping-discussion/611315-my-thoughts-about-sub-ohm-latest-vv-vw-devices.html
I read only the first post, but the OP did such a great job that I saw no reason to read more. He's pretty hard on the sub-ohmers though, and they're the ones who need to grasp the knowledge that he imparted so skillfully.

The smallest o-rings in the assortment I just received were still a tad too large for my overly loose Kidney Puncher Delrin drip tips. However, I was able to shave off enough of the o-ring's outside diameter with an Exacto knife to get the drip tip jammed in to my Nautilus good and tight. Love the size of the big-well Delrin tip.
heh - I knew what you meant!
my biggest reason for not getting the current VW one is price. I have one, and I like it, but it's VV.. I use it at home only just because of the cost of the darned thing.
I didn't even know that the Provari V3 had been delivered to any B&M shops yet. I figger it'll be a while yet before they're available through the mail. What's the price of it?

I've still got a bunch of Zippo's up in my desk drawer. I love Zippo too. Over the years I've send a few back to them because the lid hinge pin broke. For free, they'd replace the pin, put a completely new lighter assembly in the case and send it back to me - all covered by life time warranty. The 1st time I did that, they called me and asked if the case had sentimental meaning to me - if yes, they'd replace the pin, if no they'd send me a completely new lighter.
I stopped trying to keep the care and feeding supplies around for a Zippo many moons ago. Adjust the wick, replace the flint, don't overfill, but mainly, I don't like the smell of lighter fluid. A Bic was just easier, and a lighter lighter.

So I need to do a special thanks to DancingHeretik for being assertive for me  about getting a liter of 100 mg nicotine broken down into bottles I can safely handle, and a shout out to My Freedom Smokes for doing so. Today I got my liter of nicotine already repackaged into the very reasonably priced 125 ml bottles I ordered with it, all correctly labeled, well packaged and ready for all but one to go directly into the freezer, individual bubble wrap and zip lock bag and all.
MFS has gone to the top of my list. To me, their customer service has gone from OK to stellar in the past year and a half. Plus, their prices have become terrific. They used to be on the high side, now they're often the lowest.

47 minutes??!!!

I like learning, but just don't have the time or patience to sit thru a video that long. I'd probably watch more of his vids if they weren't so long!

I think we're in the minority here, but I agree with you. I appreciate how thorough the video is. It might be over 40 minutes long, but after watching it, I can pretty definitely state that I understand the strengths and weaknesses in each material :). Also, it's faster than reading the 5000 page thread on Rayon in the Rebuildables forum and then finding and reading the Koh Gen Do thread :)
My feelings too Papa ..besides, I can always skip to the end for fast results
He has to be my favorite reviewer. I skip around and catch a few here and there, but I always keep an eye out for his "latest"
I've watched too many Phil Busardo videos. Of those, there was only one that I found to be an efficient use of my time. That was his review of the Provari V3. I sit there thinking how much shorter he could make his videos and still include every single piece of info that he uses too much time for. Obviously, just my opinion and no, I do not expect to change anyone else's view. As far as I can tell he is the most prolific reviewer out there: if you want to learn about a given product he's probably reviewed it.

How do you think I feel? I have 5 KFLs two originals and 3 R91s that I've aquiered over the last 1 1/2 years of vaping. Dealing with the occasional dry hit and leaky fill screws. I was recommended to the Taifun by a friend and spent days reading the thread on them before buying and Hcigar and an original. Now I'm slowly vaping the KFLs down to empty and cleaning all my mods from the juice that's leaked all over the top. I will still use them, for now anyway, but I'm liking the Taifun! There is a learning curve, as with anything new, to get your builds right. That's why I did all the reading first! I think the KFL is a good place to start and learn about coils and wicks. The Taifun is the next step when your ready. IMHO! I have not had a dry hit yet. I did have a flooding event just now after a rebuild but it was my fault and I just turned up side down removed the base and redid the wick and reassembled. All is good? No draining the tank to get to the coil.
There not for everyone but I am liking them so far! But that's just me.:vapor:
What works for you is the best!:)
I still have an unopened Protank 1 from my first and last co-op. Nothin' any good is any good no more. I'm learning that I will ALWAYS be interested in trying the latest greatest thing and that the best thing I've ever tried only means until I try something better. (I actually have not even bought a second Nautilus, and my Nautilus is all I use these days.)

I'll check them out. Thanks! I was just thinking the vise for stability. Not real tight and wrapped in a towel would do.:)
My tendency would be to put the drill in the vise and move the RBA. This comment not approved by the safety committee, and the towel can be used to cover the wound.

In a blind taste test, people could not tell whether they were vaping Genuine Sea Slug extract or Artificial Sea Slug extract.

Is this what you're looking for?....kanger t3s coils

Yes it is, thank you!

Ha! I feel like I'm swimming upstream here! We were away for 5 days and every time I almost get caught up I get called away. By the time I'm back there's several more pages and I don't remember what I was going to respond to! Nice to see everyone rambling on about interesting stuff.

Welcome new people!! Always glad to see new visitors to the porch!

Hiya Janet, hope your trip went well, but we're glad to have y'all back!

Had to go into the hospital today to pay for a test that was being done next door. An elderly gentleman laboriously walked by, tubes under his nose, hauling an oxygen tank. First thought, naturally, was that I felt terrible for him. Second thought was he was an ex-smoker. (Don’t ask me why, he just looked like it and around here it’s a good guess.) Third thought was this is exactly how BT, BP and BG want us to end up. First suck us dry for the tax money, then suck what’s left for the drugs, then kill us early so they don’t have to pay out all the social security. The point is, people do not need to end up like that anymore from smoking. Vaping is an amazing tool and the FDA is going to take it away from us if they can. How can these people live with themselves?

The same way gangsters, shysters, fraudsters, liars, and the obsessively greedy and/or power hungry live with themselves?

Really nice that he’s helping out. Not likely that he’ll take the postage. Maybe when you get a hold of his address you can mail him some ejuice, Essence of Sea Slug or something, and tell him you didn’t care for it but thought he might. Anyway, very sweet of him, just don’t tell him I said so. ;)

I was hoping HE would send ME some Essence of Sea Slug since he has ready access to it!

Then I could send him some of my Eau de Gopher Turtle (I'm hoarding the Rattlesnake Pee, it's too hard to collect!)

He sent me a PM yesterday with a tracking number.

I checked my mail last night and it didn't come.

David, that is just downright unfair!! Now I have eight items on my vape file wishlist!

Well, those little diamond burrs are sort of like rotary files.... But they're tools, not vaping gear, so I think it's not really vape gear, and shouldn't be part of the dollar a day :)

And on a dremel, actually pretty easy and safe to hold the dremel in the dominant hand and the work object in the other, since it's going to be a grinding, not drilling, operation.
