Here's a recent article that mentions the spinoff.
Business Insider: PayPal Spinoff Seen Critical for eBay

Hopefully, PP will embrace US vaping purchases upon da 'split'. Gotta say dat I think Alibaba's IPO became eBay's turd in da punch bowl.

BTW, been a PPer from dat git-go. Have yet to have any issues.

Plus, I'll also gladly be a 'voucher' if you're a fellow/fellowette porcher!

I have picked up a few cheep starter kits to give away. Gave one to my nephew who then gave it to his uncle, my brother in law who then called me complaining that "dis dam ting leaks"! Tried to help him over the phone but couldn't. Found out today the he went to the local b&m and they replaced the "burner" (evod coil) for him for 6 bucks. Money well spent cause they replaced it for him and it is not leaking. He is happy, I'm happy and the b&m is definitely happy. They told him if his setup breaks they could replace it for $70...WOW! I told him to please call me before he buys anything. Hope he listens to me.

I'm all for free enterprise, but I hope they at least buy you a nice dinner, and maybe take you to a romantic movie before charging you $70 for a starter kit.

'Bout two years ago, had an ol' school mate ask me to help her sister to drop da 'bakky (and reimburse me for whatever I sent). Unfortunately her sister lives outta state. I ever soooo much regret volunteering to mentor/assist via da long distance phone!!! No, she had NO 'puter/internet...

Sorry, no mo' long distance phone nurturing da tyros fer dis guy!

Thanks Iffy, I really appreciate it. I'm going to do up the paperwork tomorrow or the next day. I'll PM you if I have questions.

Sent while presently sitting on my .... watching mind numbing prattle on the TV. 257 Channels and nothing on.

I was helping a customer over the phone back in '86 or '87. I was having him open various files and read me the contents. At one point, the conversation was something like this:

"OK, now double-click on the Data folder to open it."
"OK, done."
"Good. Do you see the file name data.idx?"
"No, there's no such file there."
"That's odd, there should be a file named data.idx."
"Oh, there used to be, but I dragged it to the trash can."
"OK, well, I'm not sure why you did that, but can you open the trash can for me?"
"Yes, I just opened the trash can."
"Good, is data.idx in the trash can folder?"
"No, I selected 'empty trash,' and there's nothing there."

Ever since then, it's always been easy for me to be patient when helping people out over the phone, because at least they didn't delete the data.idx file for no reason.

LOL.

in '72 i worked for Atari, building the original Pong games-- the kind sold to pizza parlors and bars and such. i got kinda good at fixing the printed circuit boards, so was occasionally relegated to doing phone support for our customers. back then, most of our customers were used to wired pinball games. few had never seen a printed circuit board nor knew what one was. of course, being a newly minted 21 year old geek, i didn't realize that.

customer describes the problem, and i immediately knew which chip went bad. eezy peezy. i tell him something like "cut out the chip located at C6 and replace it. that will fix it".

a week or two later we receive a printed circuit board with that location expertly hacksawed out of the PCB, addressed to me.

it hung on my wall of shame for years...

Ouch. Sounds like he had the "cut out the chip" part down pat, but needed a little help with the "replace it" part :D

nope. internally, we used phrases like "cut out" simply to mean "desolder".

in retrospect, i spose what i told him was akin to a b&m dude giving a 0.15 ohm coil to a n00b with an ego...

after all these years, i remain so, so ashamed...

Preaching to the choir, I know, and not likely to convert anyone who's not already a believer, but:

When I got my new Nautilus 36 hours ago I deliberately put a BDC coil in it. It's been great.

10 minutes ago I replaced the BDC with a BVC. Same tank of juice, same PV, same wattage.

The vape quality is at least 2 steps better.

It's going to be hard to ever use the 7 or 8 BDC coils that I still have. How can I settle for great when superb is available?

My Nautilus may be giving me an excuse for an Istick. The spring loaded 510 connection is so enthusiastic that it is pushing the connecter pin down on my Innokins if I don't remember to always set the beauty ring way out from the base. It also requires a way higher wattage than I use with anything else.

Now it sounds like the Isticks are having the same center pin issue that Innokins have (though prior to the Nautilus I have only had a problem on one out of seven Innokins) but since the charge lasts so much longer than the VV v3's does, and since the power management issues mean that the Istick would not work for my preferred settings for my Davides, I'm thinking of maybe a dedicated combination of the Nautilus with an Istick would work.

I wouldn't have to keep swapping the Nautilus around and remembering to move the beauty ring up when I use the Nautilus and down when I use the Davides, and remembering to move the wattage up when I use the Nautilus and down when I use the Davides. How does that sound for an excuse to buy yet another pv?:D I mean otherwise the Nautilus is just going to be put aside when my new Davides get here -- we can't have that happen, now can we?

What with the trouble in Hong Kong, I am getting hesitant to place orders with FT. Considering getting verified, if they have any RTA's that are competitive with FT prices. And I have a bunch of castoffs that someone might appreciate. Just unsure if they demand that anything bought or sold must be brand-name.

I don't remember reading anything to say things have to be 'brand-name'. There is a rule on counterfeit vs clone here, post #12.... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/member-classifieds-swaps/366198-classifieds-blog.html

An excuse? Sounds more like a carefully considered, practical and essential business decision for the overall good of mankind.

I'm glad he was able to help you out! So, what was the juice emergency? Be sure to give us the background after you've had a chance to unwind.

Thanks! I never really thought about being an instructor before, but my Father-in-Law is a retired professor, my Mother-in-Law was a professor, my Brother-in-Law is a professor, and my wife has a Masters Degree in Education. So, I thought I'd give teaching part-time a try to see if I liked it. Well, I did, so now I want to do it full time. Now, as a full-time instructor with over 30 years experience in industry, I make about the same money as one of my students will make if they get an entry-level position :) But, if you don't need a huge amount of money, it's really a great career for an older person. It will definitely keep you occupied!

I'll write about the emergency tomorrow, we just got home after literally being on planes, trains and automobiles all day, but after a very nice brunch with my folks before leaving. :)

With those relationships, how could you not go into teaching? My father could have made a fortune but but decided to teach instead. His list of students is impressive and through teaching actually did manage to change the world a bit for the better. I always enjoyed classes taught by people who were either working in or had worked within the field they were teaching about. They didn't tend to gloss things over either. Again, thank you for your help and the offer to help.
