Great to see a new place for us "Old Fogies":p
Just wondering if anyone knows of somebody who does Woodworking. I want to get hubby a stand to put all our stuff in. Need a couple of holes for sigelei V5's(2) and about 20 bottles of juice! And of course a couple of hole for a couple of tanks. We have all this stuff on the end table in the living room and the table is getting really cluttered. Figure Father's Day is coming up shortly, so if I can get it made he'll be happy!
Private Message me if ya know of somebody who does this kind of stuff.
Thanks!

So this is the place to check out other vaping oldsters? I'm 65 and stopped analog smoking on May 3, 2012, the day my KGO arrived. (Tried the little BLU prior and no luck). Been smoke free every since, and vaping is my savior after smoking almost all my adult life. Nothing the doctors prescribed would get me to quit.

SO HALE TO THE ALMIGHTY E-CIG. Now, if Congress and local governments don't screw it up for us al!

Welcome to the porch Rose and nice going - no smokie since May 2012 - :toast:

I have started using the Peaches And Cream cotton yarn instead of cotton balls... I do boil for 20 mins (just a portion at a time then it last me quite awhile). I kept having issues deciding how much cotton to use with the cotton balls....the yarn in my micro coils always work. I have doing that on my Kayfun Lites. Either option is so inexpensive compared to others which is nice.

I'll 2nd Peaches and Cream - I've used that too with very very little to no cottony taste. This I boil - the CVS cotton roll I use straight from the box.

Here's some links to vendors/makers of wooden caddies.

This is 'renderwerks' an ECF member's website. Not sure if he still has an open thread here on ECF, he used to. Ready made and custom mod stands are available at the website.
Basic Strip Holders - Absolute-Wood

Cappy (ecf = Capt' Brian) at Red Sky Mods has some nice pre-made stands.
Desk Caddies

He has a thread here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-suppliers-forum/521041-rsm-exotic-wood-pvs-desk-caddies-part-3-a.html

And this site offers custom stands

all very good ones. Or you could REALLY make him smile with a nice hand-made thing... Get a shoebox. Put dividers in it. Glue on some cloth in his favorite colors, or use masking tape and shoe polish to make it faux leather... I made my own :)

I don't lose my temper easily, but I just did over on the new members forum. I got so much good advice there when I started that I like to drop in and answe what questions I can. I'm not into any of the high tech things, and I have no knowledge of or interest in rebuilding, dripping, or mech mods. Which leads me to what I lost my temper over.

There was an OP about problems with the life of coils. The poster clearly stated that she was not interested in rebuilding coils. No time, no handy background, just didn't want to. So most of the posters went ahead and said that she had to get into rebuilding.

I answered that there was no one correct way to do this, and I probably came off as pretty snippy to the "you gotta do it this way because I do" crowd. I think that it is just fine if some people want to rebuild coils and buy expensive mods, but I get so tired of the people who treat those of us who don't have the ability or desire to do so like we're somehow second class vapers.

One of the things that I like about this thread is that the attitude problems don't happen here. But I can't help but wonder about how many people feel intimidated when they see so much of it in the new members forum. It should be possible to help people out at the level that they are at.

Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with suggestions for upgrades or alternatives, but it bothers me when I see people acting as though the only way to go is their way.

Okay, off my soapbox now.

Actually Amoret even though I do rebuild I agree with you. New Vapers face so many things to learn all at once information overload IS an issue. A big one!

I think a new person should be aware it is possible for example to rebuild a protank head. But they should also be very aware it is not NECESSARY. I tell new vapors to stick their old dead coils in a baggie. Then if they decide later to rebuild they have them and if they don't there are many here on ECF who would love to take the whole baggie off their hands.

I keep my old coils, even though I know that I'll never rebuild them. I figure I'll run into someone who'd like them, or my grandson might think it was a fun project.

What, you mean vaping isn't "my way or the highway"?

It seems to happen all to often, and not just in New Members. OP will state they're using X battery with Y topper and wants to know if they can replace the coil, and the replies drift off into how Y topper doesn't even come close to deep sea dripping with a Nautilus on a kicked mech, and how if OP doesn't get one right away....

No need to keep on topic... or answer "sure, just make sure you get them for topper Y, not for topper Yz...

I still have my possible new v-verts try two eGo batts and, either an eGo Mega dual coil carto or a 'whatever' clearo to let them determine if vaping is a plausible alternative to smoking. A small investment ($25 -35) is a prudent step before having them spend much more.

Once they determine to 'go wid it', I then encourage finding two fav flavs to prevent t-bud boredom.

What many vaping enthusiast don't remember or recognize is that vaping can be quite a daunting endeavor without some practical assistance in the beginng. Anyone pushing n00bs into coil building and/or sub-ohm set ups will lose more possible v-verts than he/she will ever convert!

In da beginning, KISS! After that, upgrades become less of a critical issue (sub-ohm being the exception).

Amoret, that is actually one of my pet peeves. Newish vapers who insist that their way is the bestest greaterest most wonderfullest thing in the WHOLE universe.... Only to post a year later how wrong they were.
Ticks me off because they spent almost a whole year turning people off. I once spent 2 hours convincing someone at work that she did NOT have to quit vaping because she "was doing it wrong" by using a PCC 510 device.
Sheesh!! What works for you, works for you for grant's sake!!

If you don't rebuild your replacable heads, then clean them somehow, pop them in a Baggie, and once you have enough, go to a vape meet and offer it up to the rebuilding people! Some of them will even offer to give you so many back as payment.

So true, Iffy.

When I started I wasn't sure if it was going to work for me, and certainly didn't want to drop of lot of $$ on it. I think I owe some of my ease of transition to both the ego and CE5 combo, and cartos on 350 mAH stick autos, for those times I "felt" like vaping hands free. Dripper? Squonk box? More batteries and a special charger? Giant tube mods?? IN PUBLIC?!?!?

Of course, your constant efforts on v-verts is sort of close to "the first one's free...."

BINGO! This poor woman is a single mom, has a 2 year old and works 12 hours a day (including her commute). I bets he feels lucky to have time to go to the bathroom, let alone take on learning how to rebuild her equipment. It's like these people come in to the middle of the thread and turn into parrots.

Good job, amoret !

lol - I only have the usb to battery part, not the wall converter, so it can only charge from the computer....

Be very carefull when using the computer.
It has not got any"protection" built in, telling it when to stop charging.
About a month ago, there was a house fire in Spokane, Wa (close enough to home to make our news channel), and he had plugged his ecig into the computer and gone to bed for the night.
It blew the end out of the battery, turning it into a flame thrower, torching everything around it, causing a house fire..
Decent chargers are a lot cheaper than replacing furniture.

Yep, it was just across town from me. But what is a good charger for an eGo? The AC adapters (if used) don't have protection either; as far as I know. It might be time for a 4 bay Nicore eGo intelacharger!
